1. The Carnival web site lists the Dream as having it.

The Dream has 'The Hub" onboard. It's an internet/onboard computer access area not the "Hub" app.

Per JH on his site not to be named page, they are anticipating adding 2 ships per month but no set list yet. Of course they said 2 ships per month last year and there are still only 8 ships with it.

It does not have to wait til dry-dock though. Valor still doesn't have it and just came out of dry dock.

  2. I was checking on CruiseTT to see how many ships were going to be in port for our upcoming trip in September. When I check the ports we are supposed to visit it does not show Valor in port. It shows Valor in port for other sailings both before and after ours but not the week we are scheduled. Anyone seen that happen before?

  3.
For once, I will be happy if this process is somewhat dragged out. I am a current Gold with 60 days - with a 7 day booked for December and an 8 day booked for May.

I suspected this was coming after JH mentioned that there were over 100,000 platinum members.

Wonder if they will add "ruby" or "sapphire" levels?
I think a 125 day level with some of the Diamond benefits would be a great idea.
  4. I just had the same issue, kinda. I returned from a 7 day with 73 days and another 7 day booked. My cruise history updated my days 2 days after I returned but my boarding pass for the next cruise didn't update until Friday after I returned (5 days).

I would say reprint everything a day or 2 after her cruise history updates.

  5. what might one expect to pay for bottles of tequila in Cozumel or Rum in Roatan? (or anything else anywhere in the western Caribbean?) I mean specifically liquor native to the country and that I couldn't get in the US. Is liquor in port cities (or nearby) often cheaper and unique or is it all just touristy stuff anyway?

I'd love to bring back a bottle or two of something special and I don't mind the wait in line as we are late risers anyway and don't have that far a drive to get home.

I can certainly understand what a PITA that would be for people trying to catch a plane or that have a long drive and I hope for their sakes they get a policy change.

maybe they could offer night-before delivery as a perk to experienced cruisers. Or make it a first come/first served option for x number of passengers (x being determined by however many they think they can efficiently get delivered the night before).

A lot of the local beers are cheap and some tequilas. In Roatan or Belize there is cashew wine.

We save the most $ on Vodka and Crown Royal. Roatan is cheaper than Coz as of last week. 6 liters of Grey Goose runs about $150, here its about $40 per liter. Crown Royal was 4 liters for $65 here its about $28 a liter.

  6. We are in a hurry to get off the ship the last day and do not need to add picking up licquor which for years they would deliver.

If you wish to pickup be my guest but was your last comment really necessary?

On the Dream they started letting people pick up liquor a full 2 hrs before they even started self assist debark. When we picked ours up almost all of it had been picked up and it was still 30 min before they let anyone off the ship.

As far as it hurting liquor sales, I can only comment on our cruises on Dream and Valor this year. The ship sold out of most of the favorites by day 6. So unless theyre stocking less it seems to still be selling well.

  7. We have never waited more than 10 minutes for pickup. The lines move quickly usually. On the Dream this month was the first time I saw them have separate lounges (side by side) for ship purchases and shore purchases. At 8 am no line at all for ship purchased liquor and only 5 min for shore purchased.

I heard (key word heard) the change was not due to people drinking but people were cleaning they had more bottles than what was delivered or claiming they received the wrong bottles. Whether that's true or not I can believe people would try it.

  8. I just hope they announce it ASAP....so much speculation and negativity until actual announcement is made won't change anything and will just drive people nuts.

    I agree!!

I have a feeling the "discussion" is not really a "discussion" JH wouldn't announce something that would stir up this much chatter unless they already have it in place but are waiting for am appropriate time(Like a Friday afternoon so no one sees it in the news) to announce it.

Our 9/16 cruise will be our first platinum and I'm looking forward to packing lighter with the free laundry. It took us almost 7 yrs to reach Platinum and would hate to lose anything now.

  9. If you play slots make sure your sail and sign is in the machine but use cash. At the tables they will swipe your card so you get rates while you play. We always use cash and are taking our 3rd premier cruise of the year in September. The more points you earn the more likely that you'll get offers.

FYI on slots $2.50 wagered equals 1 point.

  10. We have just completed a cruise raising us to 74 days (1 day from

Platinum) and are booked for another cruise in September. Our days have updated but our September docs still show gold

I had read other threads (and it happened for us when we went gold) that since we'll turn platinum on the cruise we should show platinum on our docs.

I should note we had already filled out our online checkin docs before the June cruise.

Any ideas when or if it'll change to platinum on docs?

    Thanks

  11. Where do you see these premier or ultra premier offers? Ive never seen them before.

They can be found under your VIFP special offers online.

In order to qualify for the Ultra offer you must have qualified for and taken one of the Premier cruises during the year. To get the premier offers you need to accumulate at least 7500 points in the casino during the previous 12 months.

  12. Everything in our cabin was definitely new...And everything in the ship had that new smell. We had an inside cabin (6214) and a brand new flat screen TV which was very nice :) We had new mattresses in our cabin, definitely new carpeting, new shower curtain, bed linens. It was like a brand new ship! Everything was shiny and beautiful! They were still freshly painting while we were on the ship for a couple of days :)

I didn't take any pictures of our cabin besides our towel creatures...we were only in there for sleeping and showers but it was definitely new and beautiful.

I have moderate allergies and they were not irritated at all. You will definitely enjoy! Everyone who worked there was AMAZING!!!

Did they add American Table menus or still the same old menus?

    Thanks for any info

  13. We have sailed on both and regularly on both lines. For my wife and I we always describe it as RCI has nicer ships (to us, we like the promenade and less bright décor) CCL has more activities.

We like the interactive navigation screens by the elevators on FOS, makes getting around easier.

We cruise CCL more often though as we like having trivia or some activity we can go to.

  14. Does Valor have the Hub app enabled? I had heard that this was going to happen during dry dock.

Not yet. Per John they are adding 2 ships per month and will be done by year end.

Hopefully they'll have it in the next 3 weeks (before we board :D )
