  1. Yes. Sorry about the confusion - TIP: Clarifying Zipline Rules: Pants or longer shorts. No swimsuits, very short shorts or cover-ups for ladies. The harness has to foot over the clothing.
  2. Our evening entertainment consisted of "Rock it". Will post more about that later. We skipped MDR dinner, but here is the menu. We did have the Vegetable soup in the Marketplace and it was delicious.
  3. TIP: If you want to see more pictures of Ocean Cay, there are plenty more in my Seascape Review. I also hope to post many more next Tuesday when we return. Venchi: We really enjoy Venchi - this is one of our son's favorite cruise memories. We like the Cremino Gelato Shake the best. We ordered one each this time, but I could only manage about 70% of mine, so DS was very happy! 😄 Caramel Latte (Very strong - Italian style) Chocolate gelato shake:
  4. The View from our port side balcony for 2 days: That tugboat stayed pretty much in the same space the whole time.
  5. Zipline Fun: TIP: If you want to do the zipline, you have to wear pants, closed toe shoes, and a t-shirt or shirt with sleeves. I got 2 out of 3 and could not ride this time. Will try again another time. The cost was $11 while in port. Our son enjoyed the zipline.
  6. Sunrise over Ocean Cay: I was hoping to be on the island for sunrise, but the ship was not open for debarkation.
  7. Yes, we are heading toward Costa Maya again, with adjusted itinerary for port time from 1 PM to 8 PM. Excursions have been adjusted accordingly. CD announced that the patient is in stable condition.
  8. I am not a soda drinker, but I will try to find out for you. I have read on the boards that not even distilled water for a c-pap machine will make it onto the ship, but that is only from reading MSC boards. Maybe someone with personal experience will chime in. 🙂
  9. My View: Day 3 Ocean Cay Continued: 🤣When you get a text from work asking if you are 'on campus today' - and this is your response: 😜
  10. 🙏 Thank you for the update. Praying they get well.
  11. TIP: I will summarize the comparison of the two ships at the end of our cruise. These tidbits are just shared as they come to mind. Seascape vs. Seaside Noise: If you read my Seascape review, you will know about the 'shiphorn' story. The first night, I kept hearing the 'shiphorn' on Seaside - wondering why they keep blowing it throughout the night, as there was no fog. After a couple of days, we realized the 'shiphorn' is really the flushing of toilets we heard. There is no such noise on Seaside. My guess is that MSC or the ship building company cut some corners to save $$$, with the result that you can hear toilets flush on Seascape, and not only of cabins adjacent, but for quite a distance. So, Seaside wins points for the lack of flushing toilet noise.
  12. @Lbsahm Unfortunately, I think you are right. I counted how many balconies can be seen from the fence around lighthouse - that is not even right at the lighthouse. Your balcony seems to be hidden by the hump of the ship, which means you will likely not be able to see the lighthouse. Unfortunately, I forgot my big camera when I went to take pictures. I will try again next Tuesday on our next stop at OC. From this picture, if I count correctly, your balcony is either hidden or just outside of the hump view, which means you will not be able to see the whole lighthouse. Here is what I have so far - poor quality since I zoomed in with my iphone:
  13. Dinner: Day 2 - Ocean Cay: Seaside vs. Seascape Note: Dinner was better tonight, similar to what we had on Seascape. So, last night may just have been a 'first day, changeover day' rush. The Texas BBQ was a favorite! TIP: Main Meals: If you are a more picky eater, you can pretty much never go wrong with the chicken dishes on MSC. We have not found any chicken dish or rotisserie chicken that we did not like. They vary the flavor in the buffet every day. TIP: Dessert - As people who LOVE dessert, the MSC desserts are just not that great. The only ones that we consistently enjoy are the cheesecake at dinner and the panna cotta in the Marketplace Buffet. For soft serve, keep an eye on when Biscayne Buffet is open for lunch. Otherwise, remind yourself how much money you saved by booking MSC and splurge on Venchi... more about Venchi to come.
  14. Northern Europe will be a unique experience too! We had a cruise booked to go there in 2020... Now, we are kind of content staying around the Caribbean because DH and DS just don't want to fly anywhere. 😄
  15. Lighthouse Show: It is only about 5 minutes, but fun to watch Ship at night:
  16. It was a beautiful evening - it was hard to choose 'just a few' favorite views:
  17. Sunset over Ocean Cay: TIP: If you want a great view of the sunset behind the Lighthouse with the water in the foreground - walk along the concrete edge by lighthouse bay before you get to the beach.
  18. Island Walk: I went for a walk on the island with my mom to see if the buffet is worth it. Unfortunately, there were very long lines and we ended up just walking around the shops (she was a professional shopper before it was even a job 🤣). I don't think we can ever deny we are related... I love Frangipani!
  19. Since this was an overnight stay in Ocean Cay, I will post the two days as one. TIP: If you stay overnight in Ocean Cay, you have to be back onboard at 11:30 PM. We have now seen the lighthouse show from the ship and from shore on different cruises. Both are fun, but I enjoyed the one from the beach more. It tends to get crowded on the open decks on the ship when the lighthouse show starts. It was very open and uncrowded on the beach. We spent most of our time on the quiet ship since we were recently at Ocean Cay. We also live close to the beach and don't stay out in the sun for hours at a time. Here are some morning views of Ocean Cay: A thunderstorm off in the distance - We had a 30% chance of rain forecast, but saw mostly sunshine:
