We need to cancel our cruise due to an emergency. We do not have trip insurance. Norwegian doesn’t want to know anything.
What can we do?
Why would Norwegian want to know anything? You made the decision not to buy cruise insurance with the knowledge that you would save some money but also knowing you will not be covered if you had to cancel. You are entitled to nothing. It is what it is.

Cruise ship lobster is not that good anyway. Enjoy Maine lobster at home!

Thank you to those who understand that my reasoning for asking about removing gratuities, that it has nothing to do with trying to save money. It has everything to do with being skeptical of NCL taking a cut of the gratuities and not paying a livable wage. I just assumed that the staff would prefer to be tipped directly with cash. I'm just a first time cruiser who does not have knowledge about how everything works and I appreciate those who responded without name calling or making assumptions.
Don’t be cheap! Don’t remove the tips!!!

Really? Let's say, you do not have a computer or your computer has broken down so you were not able to book excursions online. Then you board the ship and find all excursions have been sold out and you are SOL just because you don't have a computer?
Nay, this isn't right or fair. So only a percentage of excursions are sold online in advance. The rest are sold onboard.
Cheers.
Exactly. Shore excursions are like dining reservations. You can pre-book if you wish but only a certain percentage are sold in advance.

You can walk to the Hilton and use their beach and pool with a day pass. You can get the day pass on line anywhere from $79 to $100 pp and this also includes a $40pp credit to be used for drinks and food. I would recommend purchasing in advance as only a limited number of day passes are sold.

FYI. If your flight is delayed it does not mean NCL will hold the ship until you arrive. They will pay all expenses to get you to the next port but your cruise will still be shorter.

100 percent no way will GOT be shown. Tell your wife she better tape the show or she will be SOL!

As long as the cruise line has Fox News to catch up on the days events I will be happy.

Great news that smoking areas have been reduced! Hopefully someday smoking onboard ships will be eliminated altogether!!!

Try the British Colonial Hilton. It is close to the cruise dock.

You are better off buying a specialty dining package pre cruise. Now with specialty dining packages being offered as a perk the days of empty specialty restaurants are a thing of the past.

Blue Man Group used to be on the Norwegian Epic but I do not believe they have it on any of the ships currently.

Nice review so far. You said you were not able to book comedy show reservations upon boarding. Was that a glitch and were you eventually able to reserve the reservations you wanted?

We were just on the Bliss last week. Yes, we were able to connect to the ship's wifi to access the app while sitting in the terminal.
Is their a cost to use the App? I do not plan on purchasing a WiFi package.

Does Norwegian Gem offer biodegradable straws for drinks or do we have to bring our own?
NCL doesn’t give out plastic straws anymore but no worries you can bring your own from home

We ended up booking a Bermuda cruise, but went with Celebrity instead of NCL because they had a better overall package even after deducting our Nextcruise vouchers.
You definitely made the right choice in picking Bermuda over Cuba!!!

But how the is the checkin process of how they monitor?
Why does it matter how they monitor it? You have already been told that is is not allowed to let someone else use your card.

Bermuda hands down. Cuba is a dirty communist 3rd world country. Bermuda is beautiful!

Obviously everyone has different opinions. I always bring my cabin steward chocolate, energy bars & nuts(peanuts seem to be a favorite). I have been thanked profusely, as well as been given champagne, bottles of water, trinkets from their home countries, etc, so I'm assuming they have been happy. Their cabins are small so I keep selections to consumables.
Trust me your cabin steward is just being polite when you give him these gifts. Cash is king and is the thing that is most apppreciated by a crew member for a job well done.

Another troll thread so it seems SMH

I am glad NCL has changed the height requirement. From the reviews I have read it seems that little kids were driving the go karts too slow in general. Plenty of other things to do on the ship that are geared toward children.

When the pigs get out of the pool do they then become "chair hogs"??
(Sorry, I just had to . . .)
Yes and then as a punishment they become bacon at the next morning’s garden buffet breakfast!
Taking Soft drinks and juice on board?
