  1. We are elite and just booked for the first time a window suite on Caribbean Princess. What are the perks that we will get ? Can we have dining room dinner delivered? I saw a video of one of these suits that did not seem to have a regular size table.

    Thanks

Thanks for confirming!  Do they have an area for the daily sudoku, board games, passengers to leave books, etc?

Due to the necessary precautions needed to minimize contamination there are no daily sudoku on Sky Princess. I asked at Internet cafe since sometime sudoku was in that area on ships without library. The guy printed several sudokus for me. I did not ask about anything else, but you always can ask CS.

When we booked this cruise whilst on the Enchanted Princess the FCD looked up the numbers for us for both the 18 December Leg and the 28 December Leg.

18 December Leg was ~1500 with about 240 doing the 21 day portion.  That sample was taken 17 November..  Hope this helps

    Cheers

    Thanks !

I posted a link above to the email that was sent to TAs yesterday. No idea if it has been updated on Princess website yet.

Thank you. Sorry I did not look first time all the way, but I sent the link to my TA and she was able to hold a cruise for my family ( with a younger than 12 child) till Sunday when he is supposed to have the first vaccine. So hopefully it will be a holiday cruise for us.

    Princess announced this today:

    Princess Cruise Lines

Vaccinated children will now be able to sail!

Princess will now extend vaccinated cruises to children 5-11 who receive the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccination. This follows the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) news on recommending this specific vaccine for children 5-11 years old. This is welcome news for families and groups who had hoped to sail with Princess this holiday season with younger cruisers, starting in mid-December.

Princess is currently committed to operating vaccinated cruises, as defined by the CDC through February 28, 2022. These cruises are available for guests who will be fully vaccinated at least 14 days prior to the beginning of the cruise, have proof of vaccination, and in accordance with CDC guidelines, have a negative COVID-19 test result within two days of departure.

Where is this posted on Princess website? I could not reserve a cruise with a 10 year old (who will be vaccinated before the cruise ) this morning.

The treatment for atrial fibrillation should provide the optimal chance for complete elimination of the arrhythmia. First line of treatment is drugs, followed by ablation. It is not the last resort. The chance for forming a clot which can lead to stroke is significantly diminished following a successful ablation and that is the goal.

I don’t think that we should argue here about the afib treatment. Each person is different and the treatment is different. If the medication stop occurring afib episodes ablation is not necessary. There are several drugs and drugs combinations that should be tested. On one of these combinations I did not have an afib episode for 3 years. Ablation is not always successful, and is reversible. If ablation does not work you have to go back to medication. The chance to forming a blood clot( stroke) is not improved with ablation but by taking blood thinner.

The OP wanted the opinion of someone who had an afib experience on a Princess ship and that is why I answered.

My husband has an Apple Watch. That’s what notified him his heart was not in sinus rhythm. This was last Sunday. We went to dr and he admitted him. He tried ablation, but did not work since it was AFIB. A couple years ago he had SVT which was a heart rate that stayed high. He had an ablation and we thought he was all fixed. We had a 15 Hawaii cruise planned and the cardiologist said he was fine to go and that cruise lines have the equipment for such emergencies. I will double check if the Coral has the equipment. I was just wondering if any of you all had experiences. We see the doctor for the follow up in a couple days. We will see what he thinks. But right now the medication is doing its job, maybe a bit low, but we will revisit that.

    thank you all.

As I previously said, I went to Medical Center on Royal with an Afib episode. Medication worked for me. The care was similar to one I had when going to a hospital ER. Regarding ablation the advice I received was that is the last resort if medication does not work.  Because ablation does not work for everyone and has risks and does not eliminate the risk of having a stroke.

I never liked taking any medications even vitamins. Now I set on my apple watch the alarm for the times I have to take medication and go about my day. If I have to be away from home just take it in a small ziplock bag in my purse. I also have always in my purse a small container with several of the drugs I take just in case I forget or I am away longer that I planned.

I know you and your husband are scared now, but as other have said this is not a death sentence and you learn to live with it. And do the best you can. Ask the doctor about dietary recommendations: yes or not to caffeine and alcohol for example. Ask for reading materials on the subject. Of course Mayo Clinic website is a reliable source. Good luck.

We are scheduled to go on the Coral on November 17th this year. My husband was just diagnosed with AFIB. They are controlling in with meds to suppress the rate for 90 days until they try an ablation. So if he needs to be Cardio inverted (shocked) does the ship have that capability.

For an afib episode is not always necessary cardio invention. This is the last resort. For most people medication is enough. And the medical center is equipped for this.

If your husband was just diagnosed with Afib, it does not mean that he will have another episode in a week or in a month. I think that your husband should discuss with his doctor if it is safe to travel and what he should do in case of an episode.

My advise will be for your husband to have an Apple Watch ( at least 4 ) so he can check his EKG if he feels that something is not right. Another device that will show possible afib is Kardia

    https://store.alivecor.com/products/kardiamobile?gclsrc=aw.ds&&gclid=EAIaIQobChMIxeLN_qb15AIVD_DACh2gzQeNEAAYASAAEgL1P_D_BwE

That works with an app on a smart phone.

There are many medications that can be useful in controlling Afib, before an ablation is performed.

I do have Afib for several years and I had an episode while on a princess cruise. But before going to Medical Center I used Kardia and the watch to make sure this is the case. The medical center had the medication needed and I was back to normal in time for dinner. I had to go back the next day for a check up  and I even got some medication to use in case of emergency on the flight home.good I did not need it.

  9. I saw Alex and someone from his staff this morning and I asked why there are no port talks on this cruise. They said that this is because of so many ports.

But last year I took a British Isles cruise on Royal P, and the talks were taped and on demand on port days and live on sea days. They liked the idea when I mentioned this and advised me to write about it in the survey that I am going to receive.

If you also think that port talks should be included in a cruise like this one please mention it in the survey. Thanks.

They also said that there will not be a repeat of last night’s show. Shouldn’t in this situation the taped show be available on demand on our cabin tv? Thanks

Can anyone snap some photos of the fitness center for me.  Some of the free weights and machines.

And also the World Market.  Some of the food choices, meats, fruits, desserts..  And some of the seating.

Also, a few of the Piazza. Maybe from above, looking down, and then from floor level.

That'd be wonderful. Whenever you have time.  Thanks in advance.

I am not a photographer and  these photos were taken few days ago with my iPhone: the “library” in the Internet cafe, Wines, The photo with children is Piazza at 10 pm Friday night.

I saw in World Market someone taking tortilla with his hand and someone else leaving a dirty dish near the clean ones and now I go there only if I want bananas or something else I ask the staff for.

I hope someone else will have better photos for you.

Did you bother to ask for a straw, tooth pick or mint or just observe that they were missing?

I did ask our head waiter after not seeing them and was told that these are part of the changes made by Princess recently. I also asked our steward about balloons as I did not see any at doors.  Today I received a paper straw when I requested one.

  12. Just a few random observations up to now:

Straws, tooth picks, mints after dinner and the celebration balloons are missing.

My last few cruises were on Royal/Regal and now I found Piazza small and crowded, but I am definitely enjoying the promenade deck.

I noticed that the main piazza stairs between decks 6 and 7 are carpeted.

There is no port presentation live or on tv.

The afternoons tea is not a pattern listed event; however it appears on the last page of the patter among the dining venues.

I saw on your day one Patter that Oscar Perrego is the Maitre'd.  There is scuttlebutt that he will be the Maitre'd on the Sky.  If it's convenient would you mind asking him if he is indeed going to be on the Sky?  Thanks.

I am also on this cruise, and I asked him tonight this question; he said that he will be on CB till February and then he might move to Enchanting(?) Princess.

Can you advise on choosing between cabin B 703 (near the elevator) and B 251 on a Diamond Princess cruise to Japan in June? Is sea sickness an issue for someone prone to it ? Thanks.

If you don’t have experience with these two cabins, do you mind sharing your opinion about a Japan cruise in the second half of June? Is weather good enough for a smooth sailing or should one expect a bumpy ride? Thanks

I have the same card. No fee. I’m glad it worked for someone!

It worked, and it made a difference for me as we were planning to book a last minute cruise on Princess. I read your post although we did not plan to use Amex. When my husband found that he has the offer it was good, but being able to use both offers ( we are both primary on a card) it was great and so unexpected. Thank you very much.

  16. Thank you Colo Cruiser and fishywood for taking the time to share your experience. Unfortunately this is a last minute cruise with not many choices in cabins: only inside and obstructed view completely obstructed left. Yesterday was final payment deadline  and I am hoping for some cabins to appear. Little chance when balconies are sold out.
