Exactly.
They specifically say you need to test 2 days before embarkation. They do not give the option to take a PCR or NAAT 3 days before.
For regular sailing they do not make a distinction between PCR and Antigen and testing time frame. It's test 3 days before if eligible, if not test 2. Doesn't matter if you are doing NAAT, PCR, or antigen.I've been following this and John's response to people's questions and it is clear at this point they are only accepting testing 2 days before, regardless of test type.
In the end, it's your cruise. Do as you wish.Thought so. That is why I brought up the question about the different tests. I guess it wasn't clearly stated. Glad I have a Friday test for my Monday cruise. ✌️

And what about B2B's out of Seattle. You will be tested the day before your stop in Victoria, for your next week cruise. Now you will now have been tested one day before your first stop and also tested for the next week.✌️

No
That is Canada's requirements. Carnival has made it clear that you need to test two days prior to embarkation. I suspect to keep things simple for their employees instead of trying to determine whether it was a PCR/NAAT or antigen.
You are dealing with two different entities.Where does carnival mention NAAT test before cruising. It just mentions antigen.✌️

So the way I read it is the NAAT test can be used 72 hours before boarding. Back to my Friday scheduled test for my Monday cruise.✌️

Since you are on an Alaskan cruise that is visiting Canada, you must follow the 2 day before rule. It is fairly black and white. It trumps the 3 day rule for those who are boosted.
Does not mention NAAT molecular test, only the antigen test. They are two different tests.✌️

NAAT is considered better than an antigen test, so you can do either.
Does not answer my question? If the NAAT test is better, why not three days? So far the only info i'm getting is only from Carnival and it didn't mention the NAAT test. The only info I see for entering Canada is to register with ArriveCan.✌️
-
Is there a difference between NAAT tests and antigen tests for entering Canada? Three days or two days before cruise. And what good are the tests if they are over a week old when you finally reach Victoria, the last stop on your seven day cruise? What a clusterf*#@ over a four hour stop. I would rather just miss Canada like last season.✌️

Who is inside on a Alaskan cruise. The show is outside.✌️

It is amazing that nobody ever gets drunk. I get the package to get drunk.🍺 Time to try new mixtures. I'm not driving. Some people just do not understand. Actually, I am impressed with all the ways to achieve 15 drinks. I would like to cruise with you all.🍻 My first go to drink in the morning is the Bahama Mama. My idea of breakfast juice. 15 is now the goal. Cheers✌️

Driving north on I-5, particularly thru Tacoma, Federal Way - generally south of Seattle can be a nightmare, so I would not count on it being just a 3 hour drive. In addition, the rental car would have to be dropped off and transportation to the pier would need to be arranged.
You drop off the car at the airport and then take a cruise shuttle to the cruise port. ✌️

How many shots are in a liter? ✌️

It's Alaska. You can hope all you want about the weather but Mother Nature may have other plans. Pass on the dress up clothes and pack an extra jacket. Rain will not be the problem. The fog will. If you cant see it then who cares if it is raining or dry.✌️

Cruisers do not learn how to drink on a cruise with the package. They just abuse it on a cruise. And then what happens to the young adults after the cruise regarding beer and wine. Are the rules still the same at home with a verbal consent from a parent? I do not know the laws in Nevada?
Cheers🍻

I don't believe anyone here has claimed to be a market genius. I also don't believe that anyone here is making cash decisions based on a cruise forum discussion. As nonsense as this thread maybe, I do enjoy discussing the financial future of cruising, on a cruise forum, under a topic titled "NCL Stock", but I'm a girl, and we like chatter ;-).
I disagree. Time spent researching and monitoring investments is very much relevant to me. I also enjoy discussing stocks with just about anyone and especially Oteix 🙂
And I always use CC for all my financial cruise advice. Let's face it. Most people buy 100 shares of cruise stocks do so for the $100 stockholder OBC. I have received over $3500 from the program in the past 8 years with NCL. Although my investment may be down currently from when I purchased it, I still think I have done OK. And to parlay that with the purchase of cruise next certificates on those cruises I think I have received over $5000 of free money to purchase a NCL cruise. But no more. OBC is no longer applied to the purchase of cruise next. Oh well. ✌️

I wish all the stock market geniuses a positive portfolio. But alas, we all will never know. So basically, this thread is just nonsense. ✌️

Just off the Joy....
No behind the scene tour.
No Wine around the World tasting.
No Dinner with Officers.
Any compensation?✌️

For me, it was compensation for the behind-the-scenes tour that wasn't available; I won't be Sapphire until after my next cruise. I got $25 obc. I think someone said they got $50 - they were Sapphire, so eligible for the dinner as well. But I was solo so don't know if it's a per person or per stateroom or ???
Secret - I don't know. I got the info during the CC Meet & Greet.
Did you have to ask or was it just added to your account? I would rather have the $50 OBC than dinner with an officer. NCL should implement this new compensation as a regular perk. Thank you for the info.✌️

Dinner with officers is a perk for Sapphire and above. Behind the scenes ship tour is for Platinum and above. Both have been suspended due to covid, no indication when they will resume.
In the meantime, you can go to the CruiseNext desk and they will give you a small amount of OBC instead, if you ask.
Why would they give you an OBC for not having dinner with the officers? How much OBC do you receive? Sounds like you just gave away a secret. ✌️

On our tender boat they announced that the people working the boat were volunteers and tips were the only income they made. True or not, that's what they said. They passed the can around after that. At least we knew what they were doing. It was not at all what the OP described.
You say this thread is fake news and not NCLs fault.

(March 2022): Cabo tenders are operated by Cabo, not Ncl.
During the short voyage, one member of the tender crew walked to each person with a tip can (coffee can).
They wait in front of you till they got $ or you waved them away.
W T F?
I would imagine this would make less assertive people uncomfortable.
I can understand a tip can when we leave the boat but to put one in front of you during the passage and waited???
It felt like I was on a NYC subway with homeless begger asking for $ as he walked from one subway car to the next.
Heck, I would have preferred them over these guys who have jobs because they don't stop in front of each Subway rider till you gave them $ or waved them away.
This happened both going to Cabo and coming back to the ship.
Just rubbed me the wrong way.
Ncl- If you're reading this, can you get them to stop this behavior?
Attached is the pic of one the tender boats I was on.
So how much did you tip?

Is the balcony you win a guaranteed balcony? Or are you able to pick? My experience with B2B is you always pay extra when you request a certain cabin when guarantees are involved.✌️
Inside Cabins from those that been in a Balcony before.

There is never a "must" when it comes to Alaska. Alaska is to big. And a inside cabin forces you to leave it more often. For me it is always the price and what I can afford at the time.✌️
