Just checking with folks currently on the Reflection to see how the cruise is going to hopefully build some excitement for our upcoming Feb 5 B2B cruise. How are the shows and food so far? How many passengers actually made it onboard this cruise?

Will be on the Feb 5th sailing with you and Countess5

we are booked on that cruise too and have the same question. we have the kayak excursion booked at puerta plata which we would really like to do, but I am assuming we would have to take a mini bus to get there. I have stopped even mentioning our potential cruise to anyone we know, everyone thinks we are out of our mind for going at all. We had a hike to wind cave booked at one port that they cancelled and a beach at nausau, but since what port we will even end up in may be up in the air I am not sure what to do either. At least if we book celebrity excursions we can change our minds at the last minute or get our money back if the ship ends up not going to that island.

We have stopped mentioning it too. Everyone thinks we're crazy.

We are thinking of canceling our excursions now. The one in Puerto Plata required us to take a bus to get to the destination. Think we'd rather just walk around and see the shops. Probably safer.

  3. We are scheduled Feb 5th on Reflection. We have 2 Celebrity excursions booked.

Are any who have cruised or are cruising soon canceling excursions because of Covid? I assume most require a bus to get to your destination so the risk is higher.

We are booked for the VIP Paradise lunch on Dominican Republic and Mofongo and Mojito experience in Puerto Rico. Anyone done either?

    Thanks for your help.

Thank you!  Just for reference I always take my onboard ship pics without people, even on completely full ships.  Sometimes it's challenging but I usually do it on a port day when everyone is ashore.  For me it's all about capturing the public spaces of the ship for my photo journals.

Thanks for your review and the wonderful pictures.

Were you scheduled for other ports than the ones listed and did they allow the ship to dock?

Ours was a special circumstance, so not very relevant here. Our Holland America Hawaii cancellation was triggered because a close relative died, which was covered under our Travel Guard insurance. That said, we were about to cancel anyway due to the Covid surge and fluctuations of the itinerary.

Holland America advised they would extend the original 2020 future cruise credit we’d used to pay for most of the cruise, and the remaining cash payments we made will be refunded to us by Travel Guard once we file the death certificate with them.

    Thank you

    I'm sorry for your loss

I agree and cancelled a 17-day January Hawaii cruise a few days ago for several reasons including the strong possibility of testing positive and being placed in isolation. We hope things are better for our April Constellation sailing.

From the discussions on Cruise Critic of isolation accommodations & amenities, I have adjusted my mindset to expect a bare bones, unpleasant, medically-dictated isolation arrangement whether on the ship or ashore. To me, in a global pandemic situation, it’s not actually realistic to expect cruise line guarantees of isolation accommodations resembling the purchased cruise.

Were you refunded in full? Cash or just FCC? And what about your air? We are supposed to cruise on Feb 5th and getting a little nervous. I have MS.

    Thank you

Sounds like congrats on your CS

We are in the same situation. 1 says pending and 1 says expired. So we are getting the pending one?

Like what many others have said on here, we are unable to modify or cancel our other bids. We placed 4 total. The other 2 don't say anything. Placed our bids 2 weeks ago and sail on Feb 5th.

Yes, I will be refunded the prorated fare for the remainder of the cruise, my wife will be refunded for her 24 h in quarantine if she tests negative again tomorrow, the remainder if she tests positive.

Did they upgrade your wifi? How's the food? Can you also get mixed drinks or just beer and wine? Is it limited to the $9 max?

Sorry you got hit by this virus.

Same in Fla..long lines,  test shortage, no idea of result turn around??

If they do change it, it's going to cause many to miss their trip. We were booked at one place there in FLL and they have closed because they aren't able to get any tests. When we spoke with someone in their office (after days of calling) they said didn't know when or if they could reopen. Told me, before closing, the lines were so long they couldn't test all of them.

Either order a backup or have a back up plan. Recently we ordered 5 kits for 5 people and one of them was invalid (no liquid in the testing kit). We had to scramble to find a test, lesson learned.

Did you order each package for each person or just ordered them all in one order?

Did you find out there was no liquid when you went to take the test or can you see if there is liquid in them when they arrive?

  12. We were going to be tested at SynergyDX in FLL but they are low on supplies so no guarantee they would have the ability to test us before our trip. So, we've decided to order the Celebrity at home test.

First, how do we learn what the expiration dates are? Our cruise is Feb 5th.

Second, they are short on supplies too, should we order it now with a month to go to insure we get it? We have to order 2 tests of 2.

    Thank you everyone.

I’ve been looking into this and an iPad would be fine. If you go on YouTube you’ll find plenty of videos showing the process.

I’m waiting to order test kits through the Celebrity site and get them delivered to my Fort Lauderdale hotel (waiting for my arrival).

I’ve looked at a lot of videos but they always end up using a laptop. These old eyes haven’t been able to find ones using an IPad.

hi, the vaccine cards you were given for your jabs (little blue things) are not proof of anything. They are easy to write on, showing a second jab if you've only had 1, or borrowed from a friend etc, I worked at a vaccine clinic and folks often ended up with 2 cards as they forgot to bring their original one along, so they could easily pass them on! you need the official covid pass from the NHS app, or a paper version of your record from 119. Cards seem easy to flash as you arrive in a port but eventually they will cotton on to the easy fraud of them and start to be more strict

We laminated ours after the second shot. Or should say the pharmacist did
