I know many of us have had issues with the RC website the last 4 or 5 days.
But, this is ridiculous. I can get on the website using Mozilla but when I use Google Chrome, my browser of choice, I continue to get the maintenance ms message.
Is anyone else having this issue? It isn't major because I don't have any cruises booked right now, and won't for a few months. Just annoying.
I use Chrome exclusively and can hit the RC site with no issues. Have you tried clearing your cache?

Thanks for sharing the pics and the review! We'll be on the Jewel in Feb. '14 - looking forward to it.

We've done both and love them both but we're huge fans of Tortola (Jost van Dyke), St Kitts (S Friar Bay) and Barbados (Rockly Beach).

We are non drinkers so this topic is of no significance to us, but out of couriosty what is a rum runner?
Rumor has it that they are a way to bring your favorite alcohol on board in such a manner to avoid the dreaded deck two review. Some folks also say that you could then buy two glasses of let's say cranberry juice with lime slices, add a splash from your rum runner you can save some serious money over the course of a week.
RCCL still makes money on the mixer but doesn't get the pleasure of overcharging for the alcohol.
If you do a Google search for rum runner flasks you might find a site or two might be of interest. From what I've heard they also sell TSA approved containers for make up, eau d' cologne, shampoo, toothpaste, saline solution and other travel necessities.
Any way, these are rumors I've heard... :D

not sure of what you're saying. Are you saying that RCCL prices are in or out of line when ordering compared a local bar or local restaurant?
DW and I dropped went out for dinner last night, cocktails were 5 dollars - depending on where you get your drink it could be more than double that on RCCL.
-
there's always going to be sanctimonious mopes who have nothing better to do then point fingers and bust chops of anyone who colors outside the lines.
I've heard rumors that rum runners are the best choice to bring along your favorite beverage.
Maybe if cocktails weren't 2 to 3 times the cost of what you'd pay at a bar there wouldn't be the need to circumvent the system.

I encountered this problem a few months ago.
When you clik on "view documents" a blank page pops up. Check the address bar for a symbol that looks like a shield. It should say the page has insecure content if you hover over it. Click on it and choose "load anyway" and the page will load.
Hope it helps.
HA! and voila! problem solved! I've never seen this on any other secure site so I was flumoxed as to why it was happening on this site.
Thanks for the info, much appreciated. you rock!

one issue with RCL's site and Chrome... the only part of their site that won't load is the Guest Vacation Documents> View or Print. The docs won't pop. When I launch Firefox, no issues.
-
interesting... I moved to Chrome a year ago, no issues with any sites. I have had issues with RC loading very slowly over the last 4 or 5 days when I launch anything on the site that has to query a backend system.

I guess my phone didn't get the memo.
RJ, download "Ship Mate". Pick your cruise before you leave home. When you go into "airplane mode" on board you can use the deck plan feature. It's a great app. We've used it the last 2 years.

St. Thomas - Emerald Beach. About a 10 minute cab ride from the dock. 30 dollars for 2 chairs and an umbrella. Nice restaurant to the far left of the beach. Not much to do other then hang out.
St. Marteen - we love the north end of the beach. Lots of restaurants and bars plenty of activities.

It appears that I have hit upon a cultural nerve. Which was most certainly not my intention. I know only too well from these boards that Americans do not appreciate criticism of their ways and customs.
It only takes a "few minutes" for my food to get cold while you are sitting there not eating.
At times the Windjammer is extraordinarily busy - I appreciate that it is clearly acceptable in your culture, it is quite rude in ours.
Did you ever ask to sit with a couple sitting at a large table which has spare seats? DW and I have met great folks from the U.S., Canada and Scotland by simply asking that question.
