  1. I didn't say anything about an arrest. I was simply saying that when someone makes an accusation, law enforcement would be negligent if they didn't question the person accused.

Suppose it was the right suspect, and while security waited to compare videos, the suspect goes after the original victim or victimizes someone else? I'm not sure what it would entail to determine which videos needed to be viewed or how much time this would take. However, I can say that if you were the family member of the victim, and you thought this guy did something, I don't think you would be okay with waiting for concrete evidence before questioning a suspect.

yeah but was he questioned or interrogated for 90min? to me that is to different things, Carnival staff didn't try to ascertain if he was the actual perpetrator of the crime, that is something I would expect a law enforcement officer to do first

  2. I work for a law enforcement agency. Unfortunately, people do accuse the wrong person and officers or detectives have to investigate. As you can imagine, guilty people also claim to be innocent. It's not like you go to someone who's been accused, say "did you do it" the person assures you they are innocent and you say, "oh, sorry - must have the wrong guy." You have to question the person accused. Do some officers come off as jerks - yes, they do, but when an accusation is made, we have to investigate.

There have been numerous instances of a females purposely giving a false statement to get back at an ex or to explain why she was out all night. We do file charges against those women for filing a false police report, but if someone makes a mistake and picks out the wrong guy, it's not actionable.

If law enforcement agencies were sued every time they question an innocent suspect, we'd all be out of business.

so you don't think an investigator has an obligation to compare the video to the accused before they detain and interrogated them for an 90min? I find it hard to believe that people can be arrested and interrogated off a claim when it was all on video. Someone didn't do their job properly

  3. Or, like anyone else in the world accused of a crime FOR AN HOUR when when they were innocent, he can go on with his life and Carnival can continue doing business as usual. And future passengers, especially those with kids, can feel safer knowing they take these things seriously.

Why would passenger feel safer or that this matter was taken seriously when the person who did it was never found. And a innocent person was accused and they didn't even do at comparison before interrogating him? It looks like they didn't do any type of investigation.

  4. I always put cash on my card. When I run out of money my card got declined and I had to put more money on. I was not able to over spend. I prefer this so that I just don't spend mindlessly and get a shock at the end of the cruise

  5.

Sounds a lot like my order. I usually get 4 shrimp cocktails and two Flat Iron. The exception is lobster night. I love lobster and my records is 6.

My first cruise was on my honeymoon. I had a suit that I wore when I left the wedding reception(the day before the cruise) that I had planed also put on for elegant night. When elegant came my pants really didn't fit anymore it was a super tight fit, but I still got my lobster!!!

wow 6!! do you eat the whole meal or just the lobster and waste the rest?

  6. I think I may be a different type of cruiser. Other than wanting a lot of water with meals, I like doing something different each night. Since Carnival switched to having carafes on the table that helps for the water (except for when we run out). Some evenings I might want a cup of tea but not every night, and just because we get wine one night doesn't mean we want every night either.

I like the option of changing my mind day to day and would feel bad if the server went to the effort to bring me something but I didn't want it that night.

For example I like to drink, half ice tea, half lemonade. when I had a set dinning the server always had it for me at the table. Also my son eats french fries, and they learned that about him. But with YTD, I had to request this each time. Plus they didn't know my kids names and play with them like the set time servers would. So I felt like with set dinning your get that extra service because they learn about you.

  7. I don't know about other countries, but the USA is clear, as has been posted above: sand is allowed so long as it is "...collected so they are freeof organic material, such as roots, grasses, plant debris, or leaf litter."

That's a direct quote. It does not say there must be zero microscopic organic matter. It gives examples of easily identifiable chaff including "roots, grasses, plant debris, or leaf litter." That's visible stuff in my mind.

You can interpret that regulation as:

    1. "Inspect it under a microscope. See if there is anything that is not sand; if so it is not allowed"
    2. "Look at it. If there is no visible organic material, only sand, it is allowed"

Everyone is free to interpret the same words differently. That's why we have so many religions, after all. Everyone thinks their interpretation is the obviously correct one. My obviously correct interpretation is #2. I won't hold anyone else's view against them.

cause only USA laws count when your visiting another country
