We will be on the holiday cruise on Regatta. As we will be onboard at Christmas, I was wondering if there is any knowledge of a service being held on Christmas Eve and when it might be. Thanks all. Counting the days to get back on Regatta:)

A fellow passenger on our first cruise on Riviera was demonstrably upset because she could not order a grilled american cheese sandwich from room service. She said she would never sail Oceania again because of that.
GOOD - that makes more room for me.

I don't have a problem with taking the luggage off myself as we use rolling duffel bags.
I will prearrange an early morning transfer from the ship to the airport well in advance. I'm sure the transfer companies are used to these trips from cruise ships for people with every early flights.
I arranged, through Viator, for a pick-up in Venice at 4am and they were there as we came out of the customs area. Drive to airport about 20 min.

Thanks all for the information. Good to know about Sirena now, too.

Do the washers and dryers on Regatta still use the tokens from reception, or have they switched to quarters like Sirena?

After being on 28 Oceania cruises its like coming home when I get on any of the ships and my friends working on board welcome me
Jancruz1
I have been on 17 O cruises, and it is very heart-warming to be greeted with a big smile and hug upon returning on any of the ships. I agree, like coming home.

We are just getting ready to try the Terrace for an evening meal, outside watching the sun set, sailing away from beautiful Croatia.
Terrace in the evening is one of my favorite venues to eat. I know it is buffet, however I like to be able to pick my food and this works great for me. I also like to be waited on, but I like to know what I am going to eat.

I was on the first sailing of Sirena and while work was still being done, she was beautiful. In fact, I am booked on the May sailing out of Pateete. That will be #19 on O. I love all the ships, but am fonder of the smaller ones.

When I wanted to book cabin 8062 on Regatta, my invoice stated this cabin had an "obstructed view" . It was the back slope of the frame and the window washer. I was able to pick another cabin. I believe the invoice will state whether there are any issues with the view.

We really enjoyed the combo Toscano/Polo on Sirena. Being vegetarian, the chef was kind enough to make a "special"pasta for us. The pasta with grilled veggies was wonderful and may have been the best dish we had, behind the vegetables in béchamel cheese sauce in Terrace at night. Fab.

We're on the Dec 22 Miami to LA on Regatta and were also notified that San Diego is cancelled. I would like to know why. We were given permission to disembark in SD (where we live), but now we have a sea day and disembarkation in LA at 8:00. Now an extra expense to get home from LA port.
I, too, am on the holiday sailing through the canal. The reason given for missing SD is that there would be too many ships in port that day. I would rather they switch Acapulco for some other port in Mexico. The sailing does seem to be undersold. That is fine by me - the fewer the better.

I have been told, that there is possibility for a third person on the sofa bed.
Beatnix
Beatnix is correct. I, too, had a cabin with special features and it turned out to be the sofa makes into a bed.
-
Maybe a sofa bed.

Having been in a PH on Deck 11on Marina, I would try for one on Deck 10. I like to be able to go out at night and see stars. Can't look up on Deck 11. Just my opinion.

Now that the Celebrity ship, Infinity, has bashed into one of the piers and put it out of commission, will Regatta have to moor off and tender passengers to the dingy dock? Given the rainfall in this port is often and high, it may mean a very wet welcome.
We met on the Sirena voyage in April. Enjoy your trip to Alaska. We did an Alaska cruise in May 2015 on Regatta and had a beautiful time. We are booked on
Regatta for the holiday cruise - Miami to LA on Regatta. Enjoy the cruise to Alaska. Laura

After being on Sirena's inaugural voyage, I am hoping those changes will be made on Regatta. Anyone know when she is supposed to dry-dock? I am on in Dec. 2016 Miami - LA. Any luck?
-
I'm sure you will have a great cruise. Regatta is my favorite.

No listings for my Sirena cruise on April 27. Heard from someone on our roll call that O has stopped publishing that information. Maybe because they had to make substitutions from time to time and folks were upset. We will let it be a surprise, as I think there will be lots of surprises on this voyage.

One of my favorite pet peeves from being in the hotel industry for years . . .
You cannot expect to occupy your cabin on the day of arrival prior to check-in time . . . generally 3:00 p.m. With a ship running 100% occupancy, obviously all of the cabins need to be cleaned as soon as their previous guests check-out. That takes time and man power. And, please don't make everyone's job harder by wanting to "camp" in a dirty cabin.
A couple of cruises ago, we landed in Rome at 8:00 a.m. Rather than have disgruntled folks hanging around Civitavecchia for hours, Oceania chartered buses to take the guests who had opted for Oceania transfers, on a tour of Rome . . . at no cost to the passengers. To me, it was an amazing plus since time constraints negated the possibility of flying in a day or two early. I got to see a little of Rome.
That was also the thinking of most of the other 150 passengers on those three buses, except for the man who I swear, had steam coming out of his ears. I was waiting for him to implode.
By the time we arrived at the port, most of the cabins were ready and those that weren't, soon were.
Please learn to make the best of each and every situation. It just makes life better.
Oceania did the same for us once, landing early in Barcelona. We boarded the bus and had a great city tour, including glimpses of the ship from a look-out spot, before delivering us to the ship.

We did LA to Tahiti on Regatta in 2011. Fabulous trip through Hawaii, Christmas Island (?) on to the FP. Because we had an overnight at the dock, we chose to leave that night thus avoiding the "where to stay tomorrow" bit. It worked beautifully. We stayed on the ship until evening, got a cab ride to the airport, boarded the plane for LA.

Want to book dinner in a couple of the specialty dining rooms but don't want it to interfere with the evening entertainment. Is anyone aware of approximate times for the evening shows? Is there only 1 show a night or do they repeat 2x as is done on many cruise ships?
Ronnie - my experience is that the shows on Oceania start at 9 or 9:30. There is usually only 1 show, however, they have been known to have an earlier show and a later show on the 2 bigger ships.

Seems I remember some story that someone was upgraded to a Vista or Owner's Suite on an Alaska cruise or something.
Maybe they were a VIP.
That sounds better than a paid upsell.
I had a VS and was "upsold to an OS" to Alaska last May. The most wonderful trip I have taken.

The beginning of 5 weeks of $40m in changes commences today in Marseille. Great, and beat my guesstimate considerably - if the O team would give us updates and pics it would be nice, but the transformation to O class from P class has now begun.:)
YEAH!!!! Counting down to April 27.:D

She is underway again

You do not need to sign up just put in the ship name in the search
but you can sign up but no fee for the basic account ;)
LHT = thanks for posting the whereabouts of Sirena. Glad to know she is getting ready for us.
Who is running things on Regatta?
in Oceania Cruises

Will be on the holiday sailing, Dec. 22, on Regatta. Just curious...who is the captain, GM and CD?
