  1. My husband and I were just status matched to the Diamond level. The description isnt clear to me if both people in the cabin each can get the following benefit: "Specialty Restaurant dinner (no beverages - members + 1 guest of the same cabin no diamond member)" We are hoping we can go to Le Grill twice as part of our benfit. Can you please let me know what your experience has been if you both had Diamond Status? Thanks in advance.
  2. We have the RBC Avion Visa Infinite and they charge 2.5% The RBC Visa Signature Black Plus from their US Bank arm does not charge the additional fee.
  3. I seemed to have now found this: Ocean Terrace is available on the Discovery Princess, Enchanted Princess, Regal Princess, Royal Princess, and Sky Princess. The $14.99 cover charge (waved for “Plus” guests for their first two “casual dining” meals and always for “Premier” guests) includes one appetizer, one nigiri or sashimi, and two maki rolls.
  4. I have searched but can not find the menu that would be used for the casual dining that is allowed under the Princess Plus package. Thank you in advance and Merry Christmas to those celebrating today!
  5. As promised I am back to report the following: I used Air Canada Aeroplan points and for an obscene number of miles, hubby and I are flying Ottawa -Vancouver- Brisbane - Sydney. Business class lie flats through to Brisbane then Virgin Australia for the last leg. I will deal with the return when I accumulate more miles!
  6. Thanks for everyone's suggestions. I used Air Canada Aeroplan points and for an obscene number of miles, hubby and I are flying Ottawa -Vancouver- Brisbane - Sydney. Business class lie flats through to Brisbane then Virgin Australia for the last leg. I will deal with the return when I accumulate more miles!
  7. We will be flying into Sydney next November for 3 different cruises (Australia, Tasmania & Auckland). We have found the flights from Ottawa to Sydney very expensive. When you good folks fly toward NA what routing do you take? As retirees we can do a layover basically anywhere. Taking a transpacific is not an option as my husband would not tolerate that many sea days! Thanks in advance for your help.
  8. I am sorry if you misread my response. I was trying to express who much my husband would not go for that as a solution whereas I would in a heartbeat. I appreciate all the people who have responded.
  9. WOW those days of decent points and fees are long gone with Aeroplan!
  10. @paf225@gnome12 So happy to hear the great reviews about EVA Airways. Regent put us on them for our February Asia cruise. I will look at that routing for the SYD flight as I have spent no time in Taiwan.
  11. @matamanoa While I would love a transpacific (did 2 transatlantics solo last year), my dear husband would rather a poke in the eye to that many sea days!
  12. @d9704011 I did try LAX - hadn't thought of SFO; just assumed LAX would provide more options. Since you will also be looking I will let you know what I end up with!
  13. Hubby and I have accumulated quite a few Aeroplan points (900K) for this trip. The price of tickets/points right now would only gets us business class one way! Does anyone have any recent routings that might make sense. We are both retired so we can stop over almost anywhere no real time constraints exist. Have already looked at Singapore or Hong Kong onward and those tickets are also very pricey. Any help/ideas are greatly appreciated.
  14. @Flossygirl I just booked 2473. If you do end up taking that cabin please let me know your thoughts. I only cruise in November 2024 so lots of time to change. TIA!
  15. Has anyone taken this in the past? Interested to know if there were extra onboard activities and if people found it worthwhile. It lines up perfectly to 2 other Princess cruises we have planned for 2024. Thanks!
  16. Also what Regent Seven Seas has told me. Thanks for sharing.
  17. @Mike Moore Thank you very much for the quick response and clarification. Can not wait to try Regent for the 1st time!
  18. As this will only affect me next Spring I asked the question to one of the Regent Seven Seas Representatives on the CC Board. Here is the thread: #3 Posted 29 minutes ago I have received word back that our local port agent has verified this new Egypt visa requirement for Canadian passport holders will not affect transit cruise passengers. As long as the guests arrive and depart with the ship, they will receive a free quick trip excursion stamp upon arrival. This is the same process that has always been in place. Should anything change, we will communicate immediately
  19. As of October 1, 2023 Canadians can no longer enter Egypt unless they have a Visa (e-visa's are no longer valid). On the Canadian Cruisers Board here on CC there is much information with respect to what other cruise lines have told passengers but no RSS cruisers have posted. As we are traveling in April 2024 I have plenty of time, but I would appreciate if anyone is on a cruise this fall/winter can report back as to what happened - can RSS still do just a stamp as it is a cruise instead of an air arrival. Mr Moore @Mike Moore if you could confirm your understanding of this new requirement that would be helpful. Thank you so much in advance!
  20. Glad you got those great flights! I too have been very fortunate with NCL air and you definitely can't beat the price. I hope we have the same luck with Regent (their Sister brand) next Spring.
  21. Exactly what @neeuqdrazil said. I have used my Uber account throughout Europe and the US without any roaming fees using the available wifi.
  22. Can you please provide the number - I had it written down but have misplaced the paper. Thanks!
  23. Now that we are back I just wanted to check in and say we loved the Silver Moon! We found the food exceptional, the crew fantastic and the smaller size ship to our liking. We used the Arts Cafe every late afternoon - what a wonderful way to wind down from your day. We did find the lack of "main-stage" entertainment disappointing but it would never be a deal breaker for us. While we enjoyed La Dame I wouldn't go again. We found Atlantide so delicious that there was no real need for the other. Thanks to all you past SS cruisers who helped us along the way!
  24. Very excited to be trying the Silver Moon this Saturday. I am all checked in but don't see printable luggage tags anywhere. Are they not provided in advance? They are transfering us from the Rome airport to the pier. Thank you in advance
  25. I have used NCL air 3 times in the last year. Ottawa - New York roundtrip on Air Canada andWestjet. Next cruise Ottawa-Lisbon then Rio to Ottawa; all Air Canda great flights that I would have picked myself and paid way more. And finally in less than 2 weeks Ottawa- New York Air Canada direct; returning Barcelona to Ottawa on Air Canada (cost of this roundtrip $400 CDN). On all these flights I was able to get my seats and also got all frequent flyer benefits and miles. I have had great success with them at a fraction of the price I would have to pay myself.
