Don't think its always the case of what you are wearing defining how smart/scruffy you can appear.
My son wore tailored shorts, smart casual shirt and grey converse on occasions in MDR.
He looked more smartly dressed than some gentlemen who wore ill fitting dress shirts and dress trousers
Wear what you feel comfortable in and enjoy yourself!
We are the fortunate ones that can go on holiday

We have been able to book excursions on our last 2 cruises as soon as we have booked cruise.
Both of which were booked months in advance
-
Wasn't on drop down list when I looked yesterday, was today though

Have already booked our cruise for April 2020 flying from Glasgow.
Over £250 cheaper on Marella website than on Find a cruise on cruise critic forum
-
Opens at whatever time your flight is one week before you fly.
As we hadn't paid to pick seats it closed 15 minutes later and we had to check in at the airport which was straight forward

Not yet...…..
Booked one for med in April meatime

Another thought before booking....as we usually do the Med and take appropriate cool summer clothing for going ashore, excursions etc I need advice on how previous cruisers have found Norwegian summer weather, especially for sightseeing trips.

Was thinking be able to travel by car and leave somewhere near port. If this was an option

Looking at Explorer 2 from Newcastle july 2020. Ship docks back in Newcastle at 6.00am. Does anyone know what time you have to be off the ship by?
-
Thanks Pensioncruiser,
First time it`s happened to us so a lesson learned and hopefully readers on this forum will learn from my experience (and yours)
Ironically, the more people who know the faster the seats will go in the future haha.

Online check in opened at 08.15 this morning for my upcoming cruise on 6th July. Unfortunately it was unavailable after only a few minutes as no seats were left and we now have to check in at the airport. Call me a cynic but how did so many seats get booked so quickly ? After a call to TUI I was informed that only 70% of the seats are made available for online checking in. I suppose TUI hope that some will pay to pre-book in advance and also leave seats for those who don`t do anything online and do it at the airport. Even so, be warned, do your online check-in the second it becomes available or, like me, after a few minutes you`ll be too late. I had no idea so many seats would go in such a short time. Now have to be at the airport that wee bit earlier.

Hi all,
Sailing on Discovery 2 in July. Not been on Discovery 2 for a couple of years and remember the food was excellent last time although not enough fish dishes for me. My first pick is always seafood (although I do like every kind of food...sadly for my waistline !) and I was wondering how the food was this year from any of you lucky people who have sailed on her this year so far. Obviously hoping to hear about my favourite seafood being in plentiful supply.
Oh to have 1st World problems....how fortunate we are.

My other half would like to know if pink gin is available on the AI on Discovery 2. We are sailing in July. Please, please someone tell me yes LOL

HI,
From our last time draught Fosters, Strongbow cider and either canned John Smith or canned Boddingtons. Bottled beers were San Miguel, Budweiser, Peroni, Sol and 2 others I can`t recall lol (But definitely had them too). That was September 2017 so as already said you`ll find out nearer your sail.
By the way the Fosters was poured by a machine into the base of the pint container from the bottom up !!
Enjoy

With respect, if unplugging a kettle is an issue for anyone I suspect plugging something in will be equally problematic so the socket type becomes an irrelevance. When I explained about unplugging the kettle I meant.........unplugging the kettle....simples !
-
There were 2 American sockets and one European socket - which I unplugged the kettle to use
This was deck 2 inside cabin

Didn't use MDR, but can recommend Glasshouse for tapas. Sharing board, 3 tapas each and pizza. Then sweet (never managed). Too full. 5 day cruise and eat there twice
Enjoy your cruise

Just back from discovery 2 - deck 2. Unplug kettle for European plug.
Enjoy your cruise....... Great ship

We sail from Malaga on 24th Sept on a 5 night cruise visiting Cadiz, Gibraltar and Madeira before arriving in Santa Cruz in Tenerife for flight home to UK.
My question is.....are we restricted to Canary Island rules on duty free to the UK despite the fact we may have made our purchases in, say,Gibraltar for example ?
Cheers
DREAM drinks menu..pink gin ?

Hi,
Anyone know if pink gin is available on Dream. Sailing on 3rd September 2019. Wasn`t available on Discovery 2 in July but as it`s so popular in UK now hoping Marella would `get some in` .
Thanks
