I've noticed several comments about the premium beverage package upgrade. To confirm, both guests on the booking must purchase the premium upgrade, should you choose that option.
Host Andy - Not true, when I called I was told yes that you can ugrade just one, and my invoice shows WAV1-WAVE BEV and the other is WAV7-PREM BEV.
We are Elite and we did book one of the PH suites, but I'm pretty sure that has nothing to do with it. So I would surley ask when calling! It can never hurt to ask, what is the worse that can happen, they say NO?

Anyone actually see this on their reservation yet ? Just wondering when it will show up.
When I called yesterday I had them email me a new invoice, and it shows WAV1-WAVE BEV & WAV7-PREM BEV and nothing was added to my balance. I thought I had to pay an additional 10+ dollars a day to upgrade the one, but they never asked for my credit card nor is there a charge on my bill/statement.

Thank you Host Andy for this thread, and for everyone's comments. I called today about our Sept cruise, that we booked back on Dec 28th. They checked on the current pricing, & it was still at what we paid for it, so they added the two drink packages. I was totally shocked, because our class of staterooms were sold out, so I thought there would be no way that they would give it to us, but as said they had no problem adding it to our sailing.
I'm a happy camper :D, what a deal! This sure beat last years 10% savings.

We used a hiliter to mark the things we wanted to do in the daily schedule!
Highlighter;)

Last year it was Reyno, and we LOVED him! He was so much fun & friendly.

While I can confirm that a Margaritaville is being built at Falmouth, I'm not sure how soon it is scheduled to open. We will be there on Allure in December and it is my understanding that it will be open by then. Sometimes "island time" dictates that things take longer than originally planned.
We too will be going back in Dec. This was all I could find concerning Margaritaville:
The future of Falmouth looks bright as well, with 85% of the shore-side retain entertainment now open and by fall the world's largest Jimmy Buffet Margaritaville will open. When it does it open, it will be an enormous and elaborate facility including a pirate ship on its side, waterslides, jaccuzis and bars.

When you are D+/P and in a suite you get the best of both. You get all the perks for suite guests (Captain's cocktail party, etc.) and the CL. If you are D+/P you get the discounts and the choice of DL or CL. There are also tours that are sometimes offered to D+/P that are not offered to Suite guests.
Really I have never been offered tours that was not listed for everyone!:(

This was our first time with the drink package and we LOVED IT!!! We never even attended the nightly Elite events, because we had so much fun with our new friends in the other bars. Wish RCCL would go to this before our next sailing in Dec.

SERIOUSLY NOT!!

Once again this shows how we all have different points of view. One of the best things about an Alaska cruise for us is bundling up and spending time out on the balcony watching all that terrific constantly changing scenery. We enjoy having a balcony for Alaska even more than for warm weather sailings where it is often too hot to use the balcony.
When it is cold, you can always add another layer but when it is hot, there is only so much you can take off.
We always found the lack of a balcony to be a major shortcoming of the Celebrity suites as we love to experience the fresh sea air and sounds of the sea and dislike taking photos through windows. So we consider the addition of the balconies to be a major plus for Alaska cruises, unless the wind will be a problem. Guess we will find that out soon enough.
I totally agree. I love being able to open the balcony door, and let some of that fresh air in the room, and listening to the sea is so peaceful.

I understand how things like this can happen. A few years ago I made a comment about all the "official CC cruise" threads, and shortly after that came across a "round the wagons" and "attack him" post by a CC'er who I have, fortunately, not seen around in quite some time.
After that I became more aware that some here on CC seem to have a "pack mentality"... oh well!!
Tom
As you can see by my post this is new to me. I read more than I post. People get way to involved on the threads, and I usally like to take it in and keep it to myself. Some can be really hateful, as you can see. I think I will remain in the background!

Glad that you had a great time, even with some of the surprises or disappointments.
I understand what you are saying, but it almost implied (and I don't think that this was your intent) that they, conversely, may not have treated someone with respect.
Tom
You are correct I did not mean to make it sound like they did not treat people with respect. I came into this thread because someone reposted it on RCCL thread under "Some people Amaze me" and it made it look like the person staying in the Aqua theater suite was bashing it because they mistakenly paid double for the Tips, because they did not pay attention that they already pre paid. Check out the RCCL thread SOME PEOPLE AMAZE ME! they mad it look like they were the OP of the thread on Carnival. Please excuse my post!
-
Glad that you are trying something else but I suggest Seabourn or Silver Seas for your attitude. I have to post this over on the Royal board. This is as good as it gets.
We always book Owners suites or Royal suites, and have never had a bad experience. We have always had reserved seating at the shows, at the pool, special tours of the bridge, have been escorted off the ship in ports to the front of the line for a tender. Again, Never had a bad experience on Royal. Maybe you were expecting too much or maybe it showed in your body language. I'm sure if you asked for more lotion, they would have gladly obliged. I've never had to ask, but then again I treat people with respect.

I posted a question on the RCL forum. But no answers. Does anyone have ANY useful info on the family suite? I am looking at it for my parent's 50th in 2013. They don't have prices out yet but was wondering if anyone had any idea of the cost and if it is worth it. I would really like the family, my DH and I two teen boys and my parents to be together.
You need to post on the RCL Thread noton Carnival, same goes for the OP!

Anyone ever use GLOBAL ENTRY at a sea port
in Ask a Cruise Question
Posted · Edited by DiamondSuiteCruiser
The other problem is, if you are traveling with others that do not have Global Entry, they would not be able to go to the head of the line with you. My DH has Global entry and I do not, so we were told that I would have to wait in line with everyone else, so what would be the advantage unless you are traveling alone?
