I understand the policy. But when it’s not just one or two things, but a whole flock of problems, a little compensation seems appropriate IMO, even though it’s obviously not required.- 2

I don’t think there is any port right now looking to take on extra ships. Gotta believe cancelled stops will almost all become sea days.

As long as they don’t reimplement the “must be a virgin” rule.

They say 48 hours, but it’s really 2-days. Anytime Friday is fine for a Sunday sail.

We. Don’t. Know. Lots of amateur epidemiologists out there spreading “facts” and opinions. But it’s way too early.

Who knew people could be so passionate about the Beef o Brady’s Bowl????

Every cruise is now an adventure.

I’m all in favor of positivity…. the good news kind not the test result kind. But there are enough armature epidemiologists on Facebook. Don’t need a corporate CEO playing one as well.

Sounds like a bunch of’ communist names if you ask me. Things were better when RCI celebrated freedom, independence and liberty. What’s next, Kumbaya of the Seas?
* for the curious, no I’m not serious.

You sound like you need a cruise 🙂

RCI are experts on boats. Like everyone here, they aren’t experts on epidemiology. RCI developed their protocols in conjunction with the CDC and the best, most knowledgeable experts on the world. And they decided that allowing some unvaxxed kids on board was fine.
And so far, those protocols have worked. There have been few Covid cases on ships, and almost zero serious cases. In short, they haven’t gone to 100% vaxxed because the folks who know best say they don’t need to.

There’s no equation that will tell people what to do. All we know is
- there is going to be some Covid on just about every ship
- that said, there will be less Covid than any other public space imaginable
- THAT said, you’ll come in more close contact with people on a ship than many public space.
No easy answer one way or the other. What it comes down to is, “Do you feel lucky punk? We’ll do you?”

I was having trouble with web checkin (my issue actually, not theirs) so I called. 20 minutes on hold, then 10 minutes working with a phone rep who clearly wasn’t one of their best and brightest. But it got done and everything worked out fine.

What does 'onions' mean?
They are root vegetables. Not usually eaten by themselves, but very tasty when included in other dishes, especially in combination with garlic.- 1

Cool. Not sure I’ve ever seen a Northern Western Hemisphere to Southern Western Hemisphere repo before. Would love so one thing like this, but don’t see a three week cruise in my future anytime soon.

Just more to pack....who has the room????
A lot easier than, say, packing four bricks to hold down a towel. Less hassle with TSA too.

I know that you're not supposed to fly in the day of sailing
Literally millions of cruisers each year fly in the day of sailing. While it's always best to fly in a day (or more) before, don't let anyone convince you it's necessary.

As an inside cruiser, I think they should be compensated more. Everyone is giving up island time, but balcony and suite passages will enjoy their sea day more. With more “harm” done to inside passengers, they should get the bigger compensation 🙂 In all seriousness, classy to move by RCI too offer anything. Happy cruising everyone.

Literally millions of cruise passengers arrive the day of departure. While it’s obviously best to arrive a day (or more) before, don’t let cruise critic posters convince you it’s mandatory.

Just got off the Grandiosa. One thing I really liked was that when you ordered a drink and were on a drink package they didn’t bring you a bill for $0 and make you fill in a tip amount (or $0) and sign.

As a mostly Riyal Cruiser who just got off big-sister ship the Grandiosa, I can confirm most of what you said. Great cruise, great staff, great attention to detail on the Covid requirements. I only ate in the buffet, which was a bit hit and miss. But once I learned what was good, I never failed to have a tasty meal. Being in Europe, there was a ton of Italian spoken, but the crew itself all spoke English, usually better than Italian.

I’ve had to take three Covid tests in the last week. All went smooth, but I wouldn’t say I *enjoyed* them. But whatever floats your boat I guess 🙂

Boarded in Barcelona a few days ago. My paperwork was all on my phone, but I couldn’t access it without internet access. Whoops.
The outside staff was totally fine and just wanted to know my cabin number. They found me on their list and sent me on my way.
