  1. I am looking at going on an Alaskan cruise in July. The difference between the inside and outside cabin is $500. The difference between the outside cabin and the balcony is $2500. This difference is based on 2 adults. Is the balcony really worth the extra $2500?

  2. My preference would also be for Princess' date=' however, if you like the loud party vibe of your previous Carnival cruises then RCL may be more to your liking, even though both are going to be somewhat subdued on Alaskan itineraries. The Princess vibe is definitely quieter. As for itineraries both are great and quite different, so I suggest doing some research and figure on the varieties you don't choose to be future considerations.[/quote']

My last cruise was on Carnival and I had a party train next to me. They would slam each other into the walls and then when security would come to quiet them down, they would move to some other cabin to party there and then move back. It never ended for the entire stay. That was when I said enough was enough. I like my sleep at night and not have to worry about the party people.

  3. This is my first time to Alaska although, i have been on multiple ships in the past. I would like to stay away from Carnival but, I am trying to decide between Princess or RCCL and whether to do a Seattle roundtrip or a 1 way cruise. We will be going in the middle of July and it would be my wife and myself. We are both in our 40's.

What do you suggest for an Alaskan cruise?

Any specific excursions that will not break the bank (I would love to see the dog sled area but that excursion seems way to expensive)

  4. I have always wanted to go on the Oasis or Allure. I also have always wanted to do a cruise that leaves out of San Juan.

When I want to go on the Allure, in mid July, the ships itinerary I did on Carnival so, the main attraction is the ship. With the Jewel of the Seas, its all about the itinerary and not the ship. I will be booking an outside balcony cabin on both. The Allure would be a boardwalk balcony and the Jewel would be a regular balcony.

Any ideas on which one I should do? While the allure of the Allure is the ship, I am not sure its that big of a deal to warrant going just because of a ship.
