  1. Yes, stolen because we had several different magnets and only some of them were stolen, and the same one off of 3 of the 4 doors. Most other magnets were left on the door, seems like they were only interested in the Encore specific magnet, and one other fun one I made about being "On Island Time". And since the Island Time one was also "missing" and others were left, I would assume it wasn't about violating a policy. And what a coincidence it would be if the same magnet was just simply knocked off while shutting the door...
  2. Just got off the Encore where I sailed with my family of 9. I created some custom magnets for our doors to make the trip extra special and serve as souvenirs for the members of our group who had never cruised before. We had small custom NCL Encore magnets with our cruise date on it and of our 4 rooms who had the magnet, 3 of them were stolen right off our doors on the last day. Shout out to Deck 10 forward thieves if you're on this board. Never did I think I had to worry about magnets getting stolen from our doors, but here we are. Happy cruising.
  3. Hi all- I'll be on the Encore this Sunday with stops in DR, St Thomas, Tortola and Great Stirrup Cay with my little one and will be bringing a small travel stroller to get around with her. We've traveled with our little one and a small stroller before and had no issues, but didn't do any official excursions so we didn't have to worry about transportation. This time around we're traveling with a larger group and booked through NCL for the convenience (mostly just transfers to a beach), and I'm wondering if they'll allow us to bring our stroller along. We're also on planning on getting to Trunk Bay on our own and hoping we can take the stroller in the taxis there. It's a small umbrella style stroller, so I'm hoping it's not an issue but has anyone traveled with a stroller before and run into any issues?
  4. Hi all- I've read that you can purchase ferry tickets in advance online to avoid waits at the ferry terminal, but not sure which website to use? When I search there's a handful of sites with schedules and things, and just want to avoid a potential scam. Can someone confirm which website is the official ferry ticketing site to use? Thanks!
  5. Quick follow up question if you don't mind - it sounding like showing up early is actually a bad idea in terms of crowds. I was under the impression that the earlier you get there, the earlier boarding group you get and sooner you get on the ship once they start letting people on. is that not the case?
  6. Well to answer your question as to why we want to check in together - because we will all be traveling together so it wouldn't make much sense to leave half our group at the hotel while the other half checks in. We're also traveling with groups who have never traveled anywhere and are anxious, so I don't think having them figure out a hectic cruise terminal and then a hectic boarding experience onto a ship on their own would be a great way for them to start their vacation. Thanks.
  7. Hi all- there's a large group of us with 4 different reservations cruising out of Miami and as we went through the check in process we were given different arrival times. Will we have trouble if we all show up together or will they hold each group until it's their time slot?

  9. I'm sailing on March 3 with a group of 9 (including a toddler) and was hoping I could make reservations for the Main Dining room for a few nights, but it seems that reservations are not offered? Or maybe I need to wait to be checked in? Does anyone know if reservations are at all offered for the main dining rooms? I want to avoid having long waits by just showing up and needing a table for 9. Anyone else travel in larger groups and have any trouble getting tables?
  10. Which car rental location do you use? Ideally we would pick up in MIA and drop off closer to the port
  11. Is there a site that keeps up with different ship itineraries and their freestyle dailies? I'm specifically looking for the Encore 7 Day Eastern Caribbean out of Miami, if anyone happens to have been recently. Thanks!
  12. Thanks! My only concern about doing DIY is getting back. I know getting taxi's near the port and ferry will be easy enough (hopefully) but are they around at Trunk Bay to get us back to the ferry when we're done?
  13. Hi all- I'll be traveling with a family of 9 including a toddler and are hoping to get to Trunk Bay when we dock in St Thomas in March with NCL. We'll be there from 9-7, but the NCL excursion is only about 4 hours including transportation there, and is also very expensive at $180 a person. Are there any outside vendors that provide the same "guided" transportation to and from Trunk Bay from the cruise port? Thanks!
  14. Thanks! Looking for shuttles since we are traveling with a toddler who typically uses a car seat and we won't be able to get an Uber/Lyft with a car seat. Not sure if the rules are any different for taxi's, but I would imagine not.
  15. Hi all- looking for recommendations for a hotel that provides both an airport shuttle from MIA to their hotel, and a cruise shuttle from the hotel to the port. Downtown Miami would be ideal (if it exists) so we can walk to dinner the night before, has anyone stayed in a hotel that offers both?
  16. Hi all, I'll be taking a cruise out of Miami in March, flying in the night before, and we're trying to figure out how to get everyone and their luggage from MIA to a hotel, and then from the hotel to the port - with a car seat for our 2 year old. And then from the terminal to MIA when we get back. From what I can tell, there aren't any rental car drop off's at the cruise terminal, so driving ourselves seems to be out. Has anyone else booked transportation or know any secrets to get a group with a toddler from point to point?
  17. Debating on putting in a bid to upgrade. Would an Oceanview Balcony be a guaranteed unobstructed view?
  18. Hi all - I'm sailing out of Bayonne on the Anthem in 10 days, wohoo! Our arrival time is set to 11am, should we aim to show up to the port for 11, or does that mean we should be inside and ready to check in/walk on at 11? I know security can take a while and don't want to delay embarking by missing our window. How quickly is the process from arrival to stepping on the ship these days?
  19. What are the chances I am able to change reservations once on board if I just take what is available now? Is this really all that’s left??
  20. I know there's a long way to go before my March cruise, but I am cruising with a group of 9 and am worried about getting dining reservations where/when we want them with a large group. I tried reserving some after final payment, but the time slots are VERY limited. Are the reservations already booked, or are they just limited this early and will open up closer to the cruise?
  21. Amazing, thank you! How do you check availability, just attempt to book on the website and see what rooms are open or is there a quicker/easier way?
