  1. I was also looking at a Viator tour that takes you to the arch   They say it’s 45 minutes  and will also stop at the beach if you want.   I’m not sure I want to get off in waist high water and take a chance.    I can book this ahead of time   I just didn’t book a tour from the ship   Hope that’s a good decision

  2. The deluxe coastal tour leaves on the second day at 9am for 2 hours.  Afterwards we could have lunch and maybe even go to a beach.     We also don’t want to deal with aggressive people selling tours.   I heard there is a water taxi that can take you to a beach   I also heard about a glass factory in Cabo

  3. We are looking at Cabo sightseeing tour or the deluxe coastal tour. One is a bus tour and the coastal tour is a boat tour   Also thinking about taking a water taxi on our own.   Very confusing

  4. We are going on Celebrity Solstice March 18th.  Can anyone recommend any shore excursions in Catalina or Cabo San Lucas?   Or is it best to get off the ship and find someone to take you around?   Has anyone ever taken a water taxi to the beach in Cabo?   We might also do that but not sure how easy it is to take the water taxi back to the marina      Thanks

  5. I actually did download the celebrity app but didn’t think you can message someone on the ship using the app.
All I want is to be able to message my husband and tell him where I am while on the ship.  Many times we do different activities and will be in different places.
We are going on the Celebrity Solstice March 18th and only got an inside cabin

  6. We are stopping in Cabo and staying overnight  Does anyone know

hkw often the tender boats return people back to the ship at night?  We want to take a sunset boat tour and spend some evening hours in Cabo.  Don’t want to get stuck in Cabo with no way to get back to the ship at night

  7. We will be arriving in Anchorage on May 29th in the afternoon. We were going to drive to Denali National Park on May 30th for 2 nights and stay in Healy at White Moose Lodge the on June 1st drive back. We are going on a Princess cruise leaving June 2nd. Was wondering if it would be better for us to take the Princess land tour on the train up to Denali instead of driving? It looks like the price for 2 nights with the train for 2 people is $839. The cost of rental is 110 plus the motel is 200 plus the gas money. Any ideas might be better? If we drive we can stop where we want along the road but also worried about any road construction.

  8. We will definitely look into stopping at Mary McKinley Lodge for some food before getting to Matanuska Glacier. Sounds pretty funky and I like that. Im always looking for neat places to see on my drive. Hoping the sky will be clear so we can get a good view of the mountain. That would be great! I assume we should bring layers of clothing for the weather. Not sure about that.

  9. Did you ever stay at McKinley View Lodge and is it far from Denali National Park? We have reservations at White Moose Lodge in Healy but we can change that. Also looks like they have a nice restaurant there. We can stay there if we can drive to Denali National Park for a day to take a bus shuttle. We can only go up to Toklat I think since the long buses dont start until June 1st when we are leaving. This is our first time in Alaska

  10. My preference would be to spend the night near Matanuska Glacier and then head to Anchorage the next morning although the bus to Whittier may be leaving too early in the morning. Its 4+ hours from Denali to Matanuska Glacier. Would be easy to hit the road early and do the 2pm trek. You would get back into Anchorage at a decent time rather than arriving close to 9pm.

You might also look at MICA or NOVA for your glacier trek. The longer you can be on the glacier the better.

The bus leaves in the morning at 10 to take us over to Whittier so cant really stay overnight. Think our best bet would be to leave Denali in the morning to get to the Glacier tour at 2 or 230 then head back to Anchorage.

  11. I called Enterprise car rental on Spenard and they said they have an after hours car return. Nova has a glacier tour at Mantanuska Glacier that starts at 2:30 and goes for 3 hours. Mantanuska Glacier adventures has a tour that begins at 2 for 2 to 2/12 hours. We will be driving there from Denali so hope we can make it there before 2 to get on the tour. Should we pay ahead of time? Which tour do you think would be better and what time should we leave Denali so we can eat something and get the tour? Where is a place to get something to eat between Denali area and Mantanuska Glacier in Glacier View? Something right by Alaska highway 3

  12. Has anyone used Viator Tours to take a bus tour of the Yukon? Is it better to take a train? It seems that the bus stops at Emerald Lake and Bennett Lake as well as seeing the sled dogs. Wanted to do a tour with Chilkoot Tours thatg does a train one way and bus the other but they are booked right now.

  13. We wanted to stay around that area because the Enterprise car rental on Spenard is right by the Puffin Inn. We will be staying one night at Long House Alaskan Hotel and renting a car, driving to Denali for 2 nights, driving to see Mantanuska Glacier on our way back, and then back to Anchorage to stay at Puffin Inn and return the car. Next morning we have a bus shuttle to take us to Whittier to catch our cruise ship. We are using Alaska Cruise bus tour to get to the ship. Planning on leaving early the 3rd morning from Denali and driving to take a 5pm tour of Mantanuska Glacier then drive back to Anchorage. Is that a good plan? Thanks. Mantanuska Glacier Adventures has tours at 2pm and 5pm in the summer. Probably take the 5pm to allow enough time to drive from Denali. Any suggestions?

  14. We had 5:30pm traditional in the Portofino. Worked out great for us as we were sailing with little ones so dinner was finished in time for them to go to kids club!

Anyone do Anytime Seating for dinner? We are going on the Star Princess on June 2nd and picked anytime seating thinking it would be more flexible for us.

  15. We are going on Alaskan cruise on June 2nd on the Star Princess. We have cabin E714 on Emerald deck with a obstructed view. Has anyone ever stayed in that cabin? Also has anyone done that cruise to Alaska southbound from Anchorage to Vancouver? Any suggestions on excursions? Want to possible walk on glacier in Juneau. Should we do that with the ship or get a company and do it privately? We are also arriving early and driving up by Denali for 2 nights.
