Hey there! We are Jamey and Marc from NJ and just booked this cruise! Its not 100% set in stone yet, but its looking that way! We have been on the Silhouette once before back in 2012 when we went to the Mediterranean. Its a beautiful ship, and the restaurants on there are solo good! Hope to see more people join this forum soon!!:)

A little late to the party here, but we leave on RC Explorer of the Seas this Thursday and was wondering how friendly it is with its gay and lesbian passengers? Do they have a FOD or any other gay group meets?

Yes we are still here and counting down! We are really looking forward to it, but actually going to Disney in a month, so that is first! Got my mom and Aunt's paperwork all in oder...my aunt has never left the eastern seaboard before, so this will be a great experience for her. And my mom's last cruise was in the 80s, so I am looking forward to seeing the cruise thru her eyes!

Partner and I are booked for Royal Caribbean Explorer of the Seas out of NJ for 9 nights in June 2014. We are so excited and are very social with anybody, but didn't run into any FODs on our last cruise (but still had an amazing time). LOL

We are on that same ship but in August here! I hope we meet some nice people, sometimes we've had bad experiences but usually most have been positive. Have Fun!

As you can see I don't get on here all that often! Thats so cool you get a whole bunch of people to go! We usually travel by ourselves but my mom is getting up there in years and we wanted her to have a family vacation with us. We have met quite a few couples over the years and still keep in touch with some of them as well. We traveled last yr on Celebrity Infinity to Iceland and Norway....it was beautiful there! We went with this small gay organized group call Pied Piper. Didn't know anyone before we got there and then have made some good friends since. I hope we don't get this snow tomorrow....I think you will be safe up there but we're supposed to get anywhere from 1 to 6 inches! How far til August??? LOL

We just booked this cruise this week. We are Jamey and Marc from NJ and will be taking my mom and her sister to celebrate their 75th and 70th birthdays respectively. Looking forward to cruising out of home state and not having to fly somewhere! Hopefully there will be a bigger group of "family" going as it gets closer to the sailing date. It is 6 months away so its a bit far out.... but definitely looking forward to meeting you guys!

Does anyone know how many "family" members are gonna be traveling on this cruise? I know that Pied Piper doesn't give the number of people traveling through them but was just curious to see if anyone had any inside information?

Cant wait to go! Only about 19 more days to go!!

One other thing...how many of you will be doing the formal nights? We always have done them but bringing all that extra stuff is a pain in the butt! LOL

Are any of you staying in Harwich night before cruise and up for a small group for have some drinks? I'm going to Peterhofs dinner at 8:00 (Mayflower Restaurant at the Premier Inn). I was thinking afterwards. What are you all up? I figured a group from this board might be more likely to go out for a few drinks! Although who knows who from dinner might be up for some drinks, too

Oh, I'm the The Pier Hotel 2 nights before the cruise.

We are also staying at the Pier but only the night before the cruise. We might be up for a drink just depending on how jet lagged we are! We are driving in to Harwich late afternoon so if so we can we would love to join you! Jamey & Marc

Every time I check the price it has dropped. This is driving me crazy to have paid so much, when it was considered a "good deal" and now, the price is 1/2 of what I paid. I feel like I am wasting money on this cruise. I feel like canceling and rebooking to get a higher category!

 

WHY does this bother me so much? It is paid and done with... can't ever get that money back. I should stop looking. It just irks me to no end!

You can try calling Celebrity and asking them to upgrade you for free. We tried that last year when we went on the Silhouette and they couldn't give us any money back but they upgraded us to Aqua class, with a better cabin and other amenities. Its close and it might be sold out, but it can't hurt to try. They seemed very helpful when we did this! Good luck!

Also curious to see what if any excursions people have picked to go on for this cruise? We have been looking but haven't found many we would want to do. Are there private excursions anyone else has joined that maybe we can check out? So looking forward to this trip!

How does one sign up to be on the roll call for the Celebrity Infinity and Beyond group? I went to the page but there is no link to sign up to?

Hey there! We are Jamey and Marc and this is also our first time with PP. We are also booked on the Iceland fjords cruise on June 24th. We are from NJ and have been on many cruises before but like mentioned earlier this will be first "gay group" cruise with PP. We have always gone on regular str8 cruises before and never had any issues for the most part. Wanted to try these guys out and see how it is to travel with some other "family" members! Look forward to meeting you guys!

We have never booked thru Pied Piper before and really thought we would NEVER take a gay cruise, because we thought it would be all 2% body fat people and less and just vapid gay men looking for drugs and sex. So we are willing to try out a gay group cruise first to see how it is run. We are definitely interested in this cruise and its itinerary. We sailed on Celebrity's Silhouette last year and fell in love with the line! SO when we saw both gay and Celebrity we really had to give them a once over!

Can anyone give us any info on how Pied Piper runs? Are there gay excursions or any parties that are hosted by Pied Piper? Are there any benefits to book thru them as opposed thru the Cruise line itself or another travel agency like Vacations to Go?

We would appreciate any and all info about Pied Piper. We also were looking into the Northern Europe cruise as well thats also in June thru Pied Piper. Looking forward to some feedback!! Thanks for reading!!

Has anyone ever traveled with Pied Piper cruises before? We just came across them and they seem to have some interesting cruises we would be interested in taking. Would love to get some feedback about their org.

We are specifically looking at the Iceland/Norway Fjords one in June and the Northern Europe on on Celebrity also in June. So if any of you are going on either of these cruises or have traveled with them before we WOULD LOVE any or all info you have on them!! Thanks!!
