  1. Looking at it we are directly under the restrooms and something called Swirls. I assume this is an ice cream bar or something like it. The pool is a little forward and the hot tubs are behind. Maybe it won't be so bad, I don't know, 12 nights.......Hope I don't regret it. Thanks for all your help..

  2. Looking at the deck plan, I see absolutely no problems above you. We still don't know what cabin you had before, but this one seems like a good one. It's nowhere near any pool.

We just had a guaranteed balcony cabin. lowest level, front of the ship. Which doesn't bother us, we like feeling the rolling of the ship. I have some issues walking and being near the elevators sounded great. Really don't want to be up all night though...

  3. Just got a Princess "upgrade". Not sure about it.. We are on the Aloha deck cabin A420. Center ship but right and I mean right outside the elevators. Also this deck is one deck below the pool. Has anyone experienced this? Will we get the band and all the pool noise on our balcony? And, what about the elevators? Help, I only have 2 days to refuse it...

  4. I did sail the Island Princess last Oct. No vibrations at all. In fact, one of the best cruises I've taken. Great ship, wonderful staff, clean, no waiting in lines for anything. I just hope they didn't ruin her in dry dock. There really is some chatter about vibrations, I have never experienced anything that kept me from having a great time when cruising and I don't believe this will.....

  5. So I keep reading about all the vibrations. Any ideas where the problem is. I am taking a long cruise on the Island and the last thing I want is problems and all the chatter about the upgrade to her has me worried..

  6. Can anyone tell me where the new cabins are at on the Island Princess. I know they extended this ship but not sure where the new cabins are. I heard there were 4 at the back on the promenade deck but where are the rest?

    Thanks

    Gary,

Post on the roll call for your cruise. Sounds like a wonderful tour...

  9. Guess our upcoming cruise will be our first and last cruise with Norwegian. Starting to charge for room service is ridiculous. Anyone who had a cruise booked prior to this change should be grandfathered and allowed free room service. Very poor customer service to make this change after people have already purchased cruises.

I agree, I will be looking into other cruise lines in the future.....

  10. Just saw this on another site

"I am on the Gem right now. I asked at guest services about this and they told me the room service charge will go into effect next cruise (May 2) and it is true that restaurants will no longer let you take leftovers back to your cabin or have them sent there."

My DH and I enjoy some bread and cheese along with a glass of wine on our balcony before dinner. We always get this from the buffet. We have refrigerators in the rooms, this seems to be a way to get that 7.95 charge for room service. I will re-think another cruise with NCL in the future. We do have other choices......

  12. Looking at booking a Europe cruise with Norwegian. Have sailed with Carnival, Princess,HAL and Royal Caribbean in the past. Is there anything I should know before booking with Norwegian? How is it different? Why is it less expensive? Will there be some things I had in the past that I will miss ( or not have) with Norwegian. This is a long cruise and I don't want to be stuck and unhappy...

  13. We have gotten air tickets both ways for Transatlantic crossings. Princess offers some good deals. Just price it both ways and take the better price. The good thing about using Princess is they will wait for you if there are any problems with airline delays..

  14. Thanks so much for your help. We found a trip on NCL we are tempted to book. We have cruised Carnival, HAL and Princess. Once we found Princess, we said we would never try another. Sometimes the timing and itinerary are just right and you have to. Glad to hear that some of you had good reports.

    Thanks again,

  15. Thanks so much for all your information. We have sailed Princess, Carnival and HAL. We found HAL to be too laid back for us, we found Carnival too young of a crowd but we really liked Princess. We have found a cruise we like on NCL but were afraid of a bad experience. I think after reading all this, we will board NCL with hopes of a good experience.

    Thanks again,
