I have been to Ocean Cay four times in the past year and haven’t seen any loungers at Lighthouse beach. There are lots of Adirondack style chairs, folding chairs, bean bags, free umbrellas and trees for shade. The other beaches have lots of loungers, but no free umbrellas and not much shade.

When you get off the ship, there is a tram station to the left just as you enter the gates to Ocean Cay. The trams will take you to the beaches on the island that have plenty of free loungers.

    Thankyou for your information

Lighthouse Beach does have some lounge chairs that are not padded. There are umbrellas but need to get off early to snag one, a few trees you could possibly sit under. The Tram can drop you off right at edge of Beach.
Lighthouse Bar has three-seater/cushioned couches that you could put your legs up on and umbrellas that can be put up to shade you from the sun. The Tram will only drop you at pathway to Bar and you would have to walk a short distance.

Thanks so much for that information

  6. Hi i have mixed replies so im hoping that someone has been to Lighthouse beach can confirm for me wether they only have beanbag and chairs for relaxing on ? I cannot walk far so this sounds like the nearest beach i need a bed lounger rather than a chair/beanbag chair can you confirm there are bed loungers and umberellas in this area many thanks in advance

We really did. When we got to the port we were given boarding #4, but when they called #1, they called Aurea guests also, so we were able to get on early.

The dining room was quiet, rarely ever busy. Service there was quite fast because of it.

The Top 19 Solarium was nice because it was just Aurea guests, but it was always busy. There are two small hot tubs and a few cabanas, but they were always packed. There was quite a bit of empty space, so I feel like they could have done a little more here. The bar was nice because you didn't have to wait long for drinks.

Our favorite perk was the Thermal Suite. There was a lot to do there and it smelled amazing. Port days, you can come and go as you please. Sea days you have to call and make an appointment. At first, we were blah about the idea, but we never had an issue calling and them saying "you can come now." The massages (extra charge) were excellent. If you decide to get one, ask for Janette.

Thankyou so much for that always nice to have feedback from someone who has had the experience cannot wait now ! Thermal suite sounds amazing

Skyline is on Seascape. We just debarked on Sunday.
We were in an Aurea Suite and Skyline is open seating for all Aurea guests, for dinner only.

It is a normal sit down, same menu as the other dining rooms. Open 5:45-9:30pm daily.
No breakfast, lunch or buffet in this dining room.

Thanks  did you enjoy the whole experience of Aurea? Our first time with MSC likethe sound of  the perks like priority boarding , anytime dining, private sundeck area any info greatly appreciated thanks

Yes. We have never had a problem getting an umbrella or chairs but then again we go early and usually stay all day.  Hard to find a chair and umbrella later in the day. There are a lot of chairs and umbrellas.

Thanks we like too make early starts to the day too

Sue I pulled the magnificent virtual voyage that Julie put together out to the front page so it will be easy to find. I was a lot of fun and will now act as a great resource for information on many ports down under. I have switched my plan out to 2022 and will be looking at Bay of Islands and Hobart again as they are added on to our new itinerary.

    Enjoy

Thankyou enjoyed reading through it all

Sue, are you after specific advice on the cruise, or more broadly about Oz?

For instance, how long will you be in Perth and what interests do you have?

    Similar questions for Sydney.

Where to go in Albany(whaling museum, dog rock, Anzac Memorial, etc.).

As you will notice, threads on this board can become long and winding, often stopping for pies. If you can give a few clear points first, various folk have a wealth of information to share.
