  1. If all three of you were going to be in the same cabin, there should be no issue with cancelling the one person before the cruise. (The issue is cancelling one person when there were only two in a cabin and creating an issue with a single supplement).

I'm not sure of the best option for CHEERS. Since they say that it is non-refundable (meaning after you board and start using it), but you can get a refund before you board. You could get a refund for the three and then repurchase for the two on the ship, but they would be $5 more each. But that would be better than the $49.95 plus gratuity if they didn't refund for the 3rd person.

Whichever way it goes, be sure to report back to us so that we know.

  2. I keep mine in airplane mode on the ship and then switch it over and call while in port. (Be sure to change in back to airplane mode or you may incur a LOT of data charges.)

International plans don't work while on the ship. You would be roaming on the ships satellite service.

  3. We take our sign & sail card and our drivers license on shore. We take some cash and one credit card. We take a waterproof pouch, but also try to go somewhere with lockers available.

In Grand Cayman, we went to Eden Rock Dive Shop (just a short walk from port) and snorkeled there. They have lockers for $5 plus a $10 key deposit. (We left the $10 as a tip.)

  4. My husband has a long list of medical problems and all of his meds in their original containers (especially those mail order 3 month supplies) would completely fill a suitcase. He takes any controlled meds in the original container, but always takes the small tear-off portion of all his prescriptions that is provided by the pharmacy. Some are even now showing a picture of the pill.

  5. I think the current rate for using the cabin phone is $1.99/minute. If you use your cell phone, it may be much higher because you will be using the cellular at sea (with roaming charges) unless you are in a port. Plus, those data charges are sneaky and you may be hit with a big bill when you get home even if you weren't "actively" using your phone.

Since they have changed the data packages (much cheaper than previously), we have found that it's much cheaper for us to put our phones in airplane mode and use either texts or emails.

  6. When we cruised on the Dream, I had called the Special Needs department and pre-ordered ($3.00) a gallon of distilled water for my husband's cpap. (We had carried in on previously.) I will NEVER do that again. We did get the distilled water late on the first day after calling guest services twice, but then we got numerous (at least twice a day) phone calls from the Special Needs department asking about his CPAP. Was he using it? Was it working ok? Has he had any problems? Does he need any more water? Etc., Etc. It was very annoying. He told them that it was fine and that they didn't need to check on it again with the phone calls, but they did not stop calling.

  7. We had a 4J (10205) on the Dream. While we LOVED the extra size of the cabin, I would MUCH rather have a balcony room instead. Yes, you have light coming in the room, but you really couldn't see much out of the window because of the large deck and rail. You can go out two doors and be on the front deck, but it isn't a private deck.

  8. My husband packs an extension cord with his CPAP (along with a multi-outlet) so that we don't have to keep unplugging it to use the single outlet.

You can request an extension cord from your room steward or guest services, but it isn't guaranteed that they will have one available. We did have to request one on the Dream due to being in one of the larger 4J cabins and the 10 ft cord we had was too short.
