Hope you've had a wonderful cruise!!  We will be boarding Regal in NYC on 10/31 and are in a full suite.  We were wondering if you were escorted to the Concierge lounge when you boarded?

Boarding was a bit of a nightmare. We were not escorted to anything and had to wait outside over an hour to board. They say it was because of a Coast Guard inspection, but we felt it was handled poorly by Princess. By the time we boarded (after 3:00 pm) we were not happy campers. I have heard things went smoothly with embarkation ever since, so I hope that is the case for you. Other than a few minor issues, the cruise was great!  Have fun and let us know how you enjoyed the suite life.

memoak failed to mention the full suite breakfast - in Sabatini's or whichever venue is used on your ship. Only available to full suite passengers. Complimentary mimosa with breakfast as well. The breakfast is often cited as one of the favorite perks for suite passengers.

Agree 101%....in my opinion, the best suite perk is the breakfast at Sabatini's (or whatever specialty restaurant your ship uses). We just took our first suite/elite cruise and didn't see much difference in being elite.

How early is “early” as in “earlier than you can board”?

If it is too early to drop off bags - after getting off the plane, getting your luggage  and getting ground transportation to Red Hook, - I would suggest you taxi direct to Fairway Market and keep your bags with you - which is pretty much what you would be doing if you stayed at JFK.

We land at LGA at 9:30 am and boarding doesn't start until 2:00 pm (late due to additional immigration formalities and a US Coast Guard drill requiring participation from all crew members). I was just hoping there was some place walk-able from the port that we could grab a bite to eat before boarding.

Hey Debbdo!  Sounds like you’re going to have a full balcony at sail away!  🤗.  We are Joe and Debbie from San Antonio in case we can make it!

Hey Joe & Debbie! You are very welcome to come join us! I already made the name tags, so you'll be tagless (but not nameless, we are a large group of Debbie's btw!), but you are more than welcome to grab a drink and 'come on down'. See you soon!

Just curious, we leave this Saturday, the 21st on Regal, have the Medallion App all ready but doesn't show anything in Journey View except the sailing of the ship to various ports.  How do you see the activities and how do you enter your own events?

I was wondering the same thing. We sail Saturday on the Regal also and there is nothing showing up in my journey view.

It's also not an area where someone who is not used to inner city neighborhoods may be comfortable walking particularly at a time of day when there won't be a lot of people on the streets.

Thanks for that! I used google maps and found several nice places, but it doesn't look like an area that I want to walk around. Guess we'll stick to the airport for a bit.

  7. We will be arriving at the Brooklyn Cruise Terminal Saturday much earlier than we will be able to board our cruise ship. We could stick around the airport and take a later taxi, but I prefer to go to the terminal, leave our luggage and find something to do near the terminal. Are there any restaurants that are within a walk able distance (less than a mile) from the terminal. Also, are there sidewalks? I prefer not to take a chance of getting run over trying to find a place to relax prior to embarkation. 🙂

    Thanks for any suggestions!

We sent out several small batches on our August cruise.

Checked "Laundry" for husband's underwear and socks.

Checked "Cleaned" for anything else that I would wash in cold water and dry on delicate at home.

Didn't sent anything with spandex or lycra or that I would air dry at home.

Had no problems. We really appreciate this perk and don't spend time in the ship's laundry room any more!

It's also convenient to use priority tender in a port where you may have an independent tour booked.

    What is the "cleaned" option?

Thanks for your reply!   Good to know about the afternoon tea.  Which ship was it that you got to do the Ultimate Ship Tour?

We did the Ultimate Ship Tour 5 years ago on the Coral Princess. Loved it!! Highly recommend it.

Just off the Regal and the Beatle Maniacs were playing for our Baltic 11-day cruise. They did a night in the Princes Theater and a night in the Piazza 2 night later.  That ship is headed to NYC now but I am not sure if the Beatle Maniacs got off the ship or where.

Sure hope they are on board for our New England/Canada cruise on the Regal on the 21st!

We have R731 on the Regal for our upcoming cruise out of New York. Looking forward to that big balcony and the concierge lounge. We've had a suite before, but this is our first aft with a wrap around balcony. Was it as wonderful as I envision? How was the concierge lounge? Anything worth getting excited about?

The balcony is enormous!!! . . . almost too big for 2 people but a perfect spot for a balcony dinner. there is a balcony entrance from both the bedroom & living room.
The Concierge (Elite and full suite) lounge is available 24/7 but only staffed at certain times in the day. There are beverages and snacks which change according to the time of day and the hostess can make dining & shore reservations for you. There are copies of same day menus and one of the perks to a full suite is that you can have any item off the menus served in your suite if you don't wish to dine with 4000 of your closet friends.

This will be our 4th time in a full suite and will be very hard downgrading to a smaller cabin . . . unless I win the lottery. 🙂

Thank you so much! 15 days and counting! This is our 3rd suite, 2nd aft and 1st aft wrap around balcony. Love the suite life and very grateful that we can do it once a year. My husband has already "warned" me that the suite life will probably end when he retires so I plan to enjoy it while I can!!

  12. Yes, yet ANOTHER Medallion Net question. This is our first cruise where we get 150 minutes complimentary internet.

I researched here and cannot find an answer to my husband's question. Any assistance is appreciated.

From my husband (my geek): How do they calculate "usage time" (for our 150 "complimentary" minutes). If we have our phones on to use the Medallion app, and it's on WiFi as I said, it WILL be attempting to connect to the internet quite often. Is the only way to stop that is to not connect the phone?

We had the Owners (R730) Suite on the Regal in April out of Ft. Lauderdale. After clearing security and getting our Medallions, we were directed to a separate elevator and taken to the Elite / Platinum waiting lounge. Once the assisted boarding and wedding parties were on, a waiter in a tuxedo escorted us on board via a different gangway than everyone else, through the Casino to elevators near Club 6. The waiter then took us directly to Riviera deck and into the Concierge lounge where we were allowed to leave our bags as the Suite wasn't quite ready.

I don't believe escorted boarding comes automatically as we had to ask one of the Princess shore staff in the terminal and it may not be offered at every port.. Regardless, it's a very nice touch and I highly recommend you inquire at the port when staying in a full suite. We're on the Regal again for New Year's (Dec. 29) and look forward to the extra service.

Our prayers are with all of the victims of Dorian.

Regarding the app and Princesses Intranet ......do you load the app at home prior to getting to the port?  Or do you have to be on the ship to use their intranet?

also, when you order the Medallion to be delivered to your home do you also order the necklace, bracelet etc at the same time.

I know I’m probably over thinking all this - but with adding all the security concerns- I think I’ll miss my sea pass card!!!

You can load the app before you are on board, but you do not have to. Our cruise is in 2 weeks (our first medallion cruise) so I loaded it and added all our info. I like being able to familiarize myself with it before I get on the ship. I don't want to "waste" a minute of cruising.

You get a lanyard with your medallion, but the other accessories, if you want them, are  only available on the ship.

Hope this helps!  Enjoy your cruise!!

    Hi everyone:

It is our 1st time leaving out of Baltimore (coming in from VA) so I need your advice.  We are looking for a pre-cruise Marriott Property (under $300/night if possible) that is an easy drive to the port (will park at the port).  BUT, want something that we can safely and easily walk to a restaurant for meals, perhaps somewhere to grab a drink at night.  From posts I've read - am I looking at the Marriott Waterfront Inner Harbor or would you recommend somewhere else?

Thanking you in advance for your help! //Maria

We've stayed at the Marriott Waterfront Inner Harbor several times and love it's location. Be sure to ask for a room with a view....it's lovely to sit and watch the boats. It's a short walk to many great restaurants. Enjoy!

    Thanks Tony!

I checked the google play store and found:

    OceanReady (which I have)

    OceanCompass

    OceanView

    PlayOcean

I cannot find anything named "Medallion Class" app even after Googling it.  Am I missing something?

Never mind...I found it!!!  Thanks again!

Just installed the Medallion Class app and you will have all of them. Once you have the Medallion Class app installed all you have to do is enter your Ocean Ready password and you’re all done . It will have all the information that you had on the OceanReady® app.
