Recently disembarked Journey. The vegan menu for dinner listed these as among the options:
Honey Grilled Chicken and Citrus Salad
Vegetable Consomme with barley, beef cubes, scallion, chives
Mushroom and Sausage Parcel
Penne Pasta with Mushroom, Leek and Sour Cream Sauce with Pecorino Cheese
Notice anything awry? The dining room staff explained this by saying that the items that sounded as if they were not vegan were in fact vegan. Perhaps so, but the marketing leaves much to be desired. Nevertheless, careful item selection could create a vegan meal in the main dining room and at the buffet.

Does Blu have oatmeal for breakfast?

We also could not get rid of the metallic taste from the container.(not the chemical chlorine taste from the water) but the metal from the thermos tainted the water, it was not pleasant to drink from it.
Indeed. For this reason, we did not use the water bottles.

Buffet is open 24 hours rather than in short spurts. .
The buffet is open 24 hours, but not in a row.

No Cunard employee will kick you out.
If you were in shorts and t-shirt they might.
I just disembarked the QV, and on gala nights many of the passengers in the supposedly restricted areas were dressed casually. Indeed, I noticed two males, together, wearing t-shirts and shorts to the evening show in the theatre.

Good day, In the Princess Grill, are there any “always available” dishes? Specifically, is a basic salmon or chicken dish available everyday for lunch/dinner? Thanks.
-
Are they taking meals in the Princess Grill?

No excursions have been posted for the new port stop, Cagliari, either. And, the voyage (on the US site, at least) is still called "France, Italy And Adriatic" even though the ship will no longer stop in France.
-
Related to the itinerary change, while the ship is docked overnight (e.g., while the ship remains docked in Barcelona for three nights on this voyage), can passengers leave and then return to the ship at any time of day/night?

Did Cunard ever come up with a better offer than the derisory $100 OBC?
Not in my case, despite multiple contacts.

As for QV herself, sad to say she looked pretty woebegone… so different from October. Externally, there is a dismal amount of stained and rusted paintwork, our balcony was so filthy we thought of buying a bucket and scrub brush ashore and cleaning it ourselves.
Ugh. Sorry to read this but glad that, overall, you enjoyed your time on-board.

The pier-arrival time shows in the "My Cunard" section (where the reservation details appear). The message that "arrival time and terminal for boarding will be allocated close to sailing day" appears during the check-in process, immediately upon entering the "boarding pass" step (which I haven't completed yet). But no worries here. Thanks for your replies.

Do you have a cabin number assigned? Usually that message only appears when no cabin number is allocated.
Yes -- we have a confirmed cabin. But I now see that, elsewhere in "My Cunard," a "terminal arrival time" appears even though we haven't checked in.

Upon check-in, a message reads that, even if you download your boarding pass, "Your arrival time and terminal for boarding will be allocated close to sailing day."

Yes. Do it as soon as you get on the ship.
Where on the ship? Also, there's an app to be downloaded once on-board? Thanks.

Has anyone received a better compensation offer from Cunard regarding the itinerary change? (and the refund of port fees for the missed ports) My TA has contacted them but I have yet to hear back.
Nothing more here. If you have success, please post again.
I'm not sure about a refund of port fees, as the ship is now scheduled to be in port for more days than it would be if the ship were to follow the original itinerary.
-
Refunds are not being offered for those on the 14-day itineraries that include the 7-day segment that was revised.

On the Cunard Cruceros website (cited in post #41), the voyage is called "Corsica, Sardinia, and Sicily." But, with the itinerary change, the voyage will no longer stop at either Corsica or Sicily!

Do the US terms and conditions use the "significant changes" test?
Related, two of the newly added nights in Barcelona were originally "sea days." Does it matter, in terms of whether the changes are "significant," that some guests might prefer docked days to sea days?
-
Original: Revised:
Embark Barcelona Barcelona
At Sea Barcelona
Alghero Barcelona
Ajaccio Barcelona
At Sea Alghero
Messina Cagliari
Remainder of itinerary is unchanged.

There's no indication in the Cunard notification e-mail that (no-charge) cancellations will be permitted -- only the $100/person OBC..

Are the bottles glass or plastic?

That's a disappointing change even for those people who like Barcelona.
Has there been any explanation?
"Queen Victoria will need to undergo some essential maintenance during this voyage."

"I'm still confused - are they saying when it says "chicken" on the vegan menu, it is then implied to be like "soy chicken'" or some substitute?"
That's probably what the staff meant, and, probably, for those items the kitchen uses vegan substitutes. But I noted that some other items listed on the menu included the word "Beyond" in front of the meat-sounding item (e.g., "Beyond Sausage,"), indicating that that particular item was indeed not meat sausage but instead was the non-meat substitute sold by the Beyond Meat company. So, in the end it may be that all items on the vegan menu (even the "chicken" and "beef") were in fact vegan, but the menu is quite unclear.
