Thank you for the recommendation for Captain Jack, I will definitely look into that!

What tours in Victoria BC and Ketchikan require little to no exertion? I honestly don't know how strong I will still be in August, and even booking this cruise is a big gamble... but one I choose to make in order to motivate me to still be healthy by then.

Thank you for the tips so far. Do the balconies get smaller the further up they are or is that an optical illusion? Which specialty restaurant (s) are "can't miss?"

Hello,
We are Royal Caribbean vets taking our first Celebrity Cruise to Alaska this summer. I booked this cruise on impulse. I have 4 cancer (only 41), and am trying to get as many of my "bucket list" items out of the way as possible. We finally went to Hawaii (land adventure) in October and Alaska is next on the list.
To start with, we decided to splurge on two excursions- the railway with private dining car in Skagway, and the Bi-Plane and Lodge adventure in Juneau.
The descriptions sound marvelous. Are these good picks?
Our cabin is an aft cabin, deck 6 and was the last one that I could find on this sailing. Did we make a good choice? We know that we are missing out on the concierge and suite benefits. Is that going to make or break this trip? I can't imagine what we would use a butler for anyway, but are the restaurants and private lounges really worth giving up the aft cabin and all of the extra money?
Are there any other tips from Celebrity insiders on how we can make the most of this cruise (which will be my last cruise and probably last vacation ever)? Are there any other special tours or experiences that we can't miss out on?

Thanks to everyone who replied. Our flight for Florida very early Thursday morning. We can't wait!

Yes, good suggestion if that is an issue. Also, I have already been bitten by snarky comments here in the past. Don't care. You will see people having their Cruise ruined by a charge of less than $10, but worry about sleeping well for 7 nights if you are a light sleeper? Shameful!

We are leaving this Saturday and planning all of the last details!
What can I expect in terms of cabin temps and bed comfort? I already contacted special needs to get a mattress topper and got turned down, so I am hoping that it isn't too much of an issue.
On our last Allure cruise, I brought a portable fan and did end up using it many nights due to a higher than I would like cabin temperature. Can I expect the same on Harmony?
Finally, our 3 kids are staying in a promenade cabin with the third kid on a sofa bed. Has anyone done this before? Any issues with sofa bed comfort? How is the cabin space when all 3 are being used? Thanks!

So, if the first two sea days on my sailing (eastern) are days 3 and 7 would those be the two qualifying days with the final on day 7?
-
When is the park cafe not crowded? Is it crowded on embarkation day? I only went there for lunch 1 time on Allure and it was toward the end of the sailing and it was SO PACKED (no seats) and as a result pretty un-enjoyable.
Do they have anything available during breakfast hours? If so, what?

Does anyone have news on what the Royal Poker Tournament is like? When is the first day?

Perfect, thanks!

Does anyone have a recent copy? I actually tried doing a search of thread titles and there were no results, so I figured that I would post a new one. Thank you!

I should add that we are a family of 5; 3 kids ages ranging from 7-11.

So, I already booked this tour for my family and then noticed that there will be 5 ships in port that day.
Will it be incredibly crowded, and if so would a resort-for-a-day be better?
We were planning to do the resort for a day in St. Martin. Should we change our plans or will the Blue Lagoon tour be the best option?

Thank you! Can you tell me which cabin this is?

Ours changed from 8:00 to 10:30 on our April cruise on night 3 as well.
I planned to do this with my girls, so 10:30 would not work for us.
We were relieved to see that there was an 8:30 show that still had availability on night 1 so we jumped on that.
Still not ideal, as we won't be out of there until 10 or so and we arrive in Nassau at 7 the next morning, but better than 10:30.
On the plus side, when I went in to change my reservation I discovered that puzzle room bookings had opened up and was able to get us booked for that at the same time.
My suggestion for you would be to show up for the night 1 show on stand-by. There will be no-shows and you will probably get in, just unfortunately less convenient than having reservations.

We are looking for simple and easy. No renting cars. Watersports are not a necessity. A raft or inner tubes for the kids would be nice.
If Sonesta Maho won't be too terrible, I'm starting to think that may be the best option? As long as my husband and I can get chairs and the kids have places to play?
-
We will be there April 5th.
I am not sure whether that still counts as Spring Break or not. My kids are on SB that week, but I know that most locations have SB sometime in March.
Budget for a family of 5 (2 adults, 3 kids) is about $350.
-
So I took advantage of the Black Friday sale and signed us up for the Blue Lagoon getaway in Nassau and a Sapphire Beach and Island Drive in St. Thomas.
I was thinking of doing the resort for a day in St. Martin because this one looked like it had lots of kids activities?

Any suggestions for a resort for a day for a family with kids (7,9,11)?
We were looking at the Sonesto Maho Beach as it seemed the best fit for both Mom and Dad and kids. Any recent experiences here or better suggestions? Thanks!

Our family is also doing the Harmony Eastern route in early April and we have a hump balcony on deck 7. We will definitely be following!

Okay thank you, your suggestions make sense.

We had an AFT facing cabin once before on a prior cruise a long time ago and really loved it. Thank you for affirming that was the right choice over a suite. Now, if we could only justify the price of an aft-facing suite.... Unfortunately, those are all taken and are unlikely to become unavailable in the future.
