  1. When I earn the drinks based on points played that cruise, it has only been for me; however, many of my casino offers include "Drinks on Us" for me and a companion while playing in the casino, so we both get the benefit.

I sometimes go to the casino early before dinner or a show just to get a drink and take it with me.  Or stop on my way after breakfast to get a Bloody Mary. The wait usually isn't very long unless the casino is especially busy.

  2. Can anyone recommend a good food tour in the Bahamas? I'll be sailing solo in January and I'd love to try some local flavor. I will be visiting Bimini, Freeport, Princess Cays, and Nassau. Nassau is the only port I've visited in the past.

    Thanks!

So, we have never been to either Jamaica or the Grand Caymans.  We are heading that way on the Carnival Glory in November, and don't see any excursions that look appealing.  What is recommended for a married couple to do while at port that is something we can do on our own?  Anyone have any suggestions?

What date are you sailing on the Glory in November? I'll be on the November 12-19 sailing.

  4. Mobile Parking - I was able to prepay online before my Mobile cruise in 2019. It looks like that is still an option. They use your license tag to keep track of who has paid. I didn't have to stand in line and went straight into the terminal after parking.

  5. My sister-in-law and I are both turning 50 in 2022 (her in June, me in December) and we're on the Glory Sailebration cause we're going to be extra and celebrate all year long along with Carnival!

This will only be my SIL's second cruise (we cruised for my 40th), but it will be my 15th. I've been sailing since 2003 and I miss a lot of the things already mentioned in previous posts. But I'm just glad to be sailing again (I'm on the Valor in 38 days!)!

  6. Did anyone else get the Players Club Offer for $100 per person with $100 per cabin for cruises out of Miami and Galveston in July and August? Code O5M. Also included a few Alaska cruises out of Seattle for July-September.

If I had any PTO left I'd be booking more cruises right now!

Have you had any complications if your previously booked person was a no show?

My niece had to cancel last minute one time and I went alone with her being a no show. They refunded my taxes, port fees, and prepaid gratuities while I was on the cruise.  Easy peasy.

  8. My November 2022 solo cruise includes Costa Maya, a port I've never visited before despite being platinum. I'm pretty adventurous for an old, fluffy gal, but I am weary of not having someone to watch my back. It appears many people go to an AI beach club when in Costa Maya, but I want to know, fellow cruisers, what would you recommend for a solo cruiser in this port?

  9. I'm booked on the March 3, 2022, Sailabration cruise on the Glory. I have never eaten in the Steakhouse on any of my cruises, but I want to this time because: a) my sister-in-law will be with me as we celebrate our 50th birthdays along with Carnival; and 2) March 11, 2022, will be the 2 year anniversary of my cancer diagnosis and I want to celebrate how far I've come.  I'm not able to make a Steakhouse reservation in my Cruise Manager.  Does anyone know how soon before sailing they open up reservations?

  10. Some of my co-workers want me to plan a cruise for all of us.  Most have cruised before, but I have the most experience (12 cruises down, with 13th in November).  I looked at the dates they wanted and gave them a general idea of the cost per person … and then the complaints started.  This one will only cruise in a balcony/suite, another can't be on the lowest floor, another wants to cruise out of NOLA instead of Mobile (we are about equidistant from both ports) so we can park at her son's and not have to pay parking fees, etc.  It gives me a headache just thinking about it!

Have I lost my mind or should I just tell them to forget it?

  11. I have done this on the last three cruises. I just talk to the maitre d' and then our head sever and request the non-vegetarian indian dishes each night. The server then confirms each night if he should bring it along with whatever other entree I order. I do it each night as I never have the desserts, so enjoy the entrees. Yummy.

    Bobbylah,

Do you happen to have any pictures of the non-vegetarian entrees? I love the tandoor on the Dream class ships and I've had the vegetarian entrée in the MDR, but never the non.
