Another question. What is the difference between the Chilkoot Train and WP&YR railway trips? Did I read somewhere that Chilkoot has cars on the WP&YR?

I am toying between the two longer options: Bennett Scenic Journey and Yukon Rail and Bus. They are only about 30 minutes difference. What then is the big difference? Bennett seems to have 67.5 miles of rail compared to Rail and Bus which has 28. Is the bus longer on Rail and Bus? Is the rail terminus for both the same? Right now I am leaning towards the Rail and Bus, but I am very open to input from others.

I recommend that you take the bus up to Emerald lake and Caribou crossing, they have a nice BBQ chicken lunch at Caribou crossing. Then take the train back to Skagway from Fraser. We've done this a few times, makes for a nice day.

First set of pictures showed up, second did not.

My question is specific to the Star as we are sailing on her summer 2017. If I have read material correctly sushi is free if a glass of wine is ordered. Is that correct.? Wife and I like sushi, but are not big wine drinkers. Is it possible to get free sushi without the wine. We are using Sip n Sail, so the wine will cost nothing. Really don't want to waste it. Is there a sushi menu somewhere?

Did my research also. Sip and Sale is the way to go for us. Savings are better to begin with, plus price of cruise went up.

Booked during the recent free drink package. This deal provides much less for me and wife. Question is whether it can be combined. Before I call, has anyone tried adding this to the previous sale?

Either way not to successful with Princess.

It is appearing there is not much variety of draft on Princess. Do all places offer the same two or three choices? Is there any one bar that has more than the two or three? We are talking Star Princess remember.

This has been disappointing news. My wife and I are returning to Princess after trying NCL and RCI over the last few years. RCI Liberty of the Seas last summer impressed me both with their draft selection on the ship, and the options for the bottles.

Hope this won't be a Princess deal breaker when we return to our Caribbean cruises. We are looking forward though to our return to Princess. It has been about 7 years. Caribbean Princess was our last one.

Doing the Star in Alaska next summer. My favorite drink is draft beer. What options can I expect? While I'm at it, what can I expect as bottle options also? Thanks.

We are going next year. We booked Denali package over on your own. If I read things correctly a big difference is travel from Denali to Whittier. The Denali package is by train. On your own is by motor-coach. Did I read that correctly?

Trying to make the best use of time and money on Alaska cruise. Our land portion (Princess) includes the train ride from Denali to Whittier. Thinking strongly of train/van through Chilkoot in Skagway. That would be a lot of time on a train. Are the rides different enough to warrant both?

Once you choose pre-pay though, you are billed right away, correct? How does that work refund wise,etc either before or after final payment? Can it be recovered if insurance gets involved?

How heated is the enclosed area? I am asking as I am going on an Alaska cruise on the Star next year. Can you actually hang out in your bathing suit comfortably?

Just a personal opinion but after seeing the other glaciers I don't think Mendenhall would add a lot. Whales and Glacier Gardens is exactly what we did in Juneau and we did not regret it. Only reason (for me) to do a Mendenhall tour would be the one that stops at Alaska Brewing. ;)
