  1. One of our best cruises ever. The entertainment was over the top!  Everything else was absolutely fantastic.  Crystal is not “back” it is better than before.

Yes, a few of us are staying on to San Diego. Many who boarded in SD are leaving in Miami. We’re so glad we’ll have one more segment to enjoy this wonderful experience.

We understand that 34 are continuing to San Diego with over 500 boarding in Miami.

I’m an old guy and and my memory is not what it what it used to be. I could have been on the Symphony and not the Serenity. Does the Symphony currently have ballroom dancing in the Starlight Lounge?

Yes, we were on the Symphony in January and there was dancing sometimes in the Palm Court and often in the Starlight lounge.

  4. I think there may be some confusion.  The Starlight lounge on the Symphony is often used for dancing but the Stardust lounge on the Serenity is rarely used for dancing before or after dinner.

  5. This has been a great cruise with almost perfect seas and weather.  Entertainment, lectures, food and service have been over the top.

  6. One more comment about the two new ships now under construction. I was told that they would operate under the A & K flag not Crystal.  Also, they have been in the planning for A & K for a long time and are needed to fit into their business model.

  7. Based upon what was discussed at the Q & A, we will have the answers to all of these questions by the end of June.

Contracts may be signed, etc.  We already know… all balconies, promenade deck, 650 passengers, casino and they are retaining most of our favorite features about the ships.  They will not please everyone that is for sure but I think they are really trying.

be patient for a few more weeks!

  8. Let’s not forget that A & K are one of the leading tour operators and currently book many trips on the Amazon and Nile.  They certainly know this market and I am sure they know the demand.  We are not dealing with amateur operators.

    Thank you.

On a related note someone had posted that they plan to share information next month and that is 2Q 2024 so we will see what  is said next month.

They said at the Q & A that an announcement would be made by the end of June.  Contract details are being finalized.  They are building two ships now, one for the Amazon and the other for the Nile.  This may be for A & K but could be sailing under the Crystal name.  This was somewhat confusing and wasn’t really elaborated on in the Q & A.

  10. The Symphony is qualified to be in the US and is scheduled to be in the US in 2026.  This was discussed in our Q & A session.

The only real luxury ships are A&K Crystal. If they stuck to that they will have this end if the market all to themselves.

The statement was made that Crystal/AK wanted to be positioned two levels above the rest.  Bold statement but indicates their commitment.

  12. At our q & a session, it was confirmed that all rooms would have a veranda.

    Bon voyage!

I think you’ll have the Schuetts in the bridge room.

I hope they’ll still be on from San Diego to Vancouver on June 24th.

    The Schuetts are on board!

And this is where the oft-repeated "choice is good" comes in. We find every alternative routing opportunity after Rio more appealing than the currently scheduled itinerary. We have no interest in the circle-South America cruise from FL or LA to Rio. Different strokes for different folks, as they say.

Are you booked on the cruise?

We look forward to boarding Serenity on May 27 in Las Palmas to Miami. Anyone else? Would love to have more reports here from those currently on board but we understand not everyone posts here whereas we are not on Facebook. In any case, counting the days😊

We will also be boarding in Las Palmas, looking forward to the crossing to Miami.

  16. We were recently told that the Symphony is being retrofitted to enable it to enter the US.  The electrical room necessary for dock connections is completed.
