  1. Hello,

Yes you can definitely get to this part of the ship on Azura, as I've done it!

I'm sure the access is via E deck; you just need to walk towards the front of the cabins & you'll see a door that is marked 'Access to Bow' or something similar.

See if you can find a deck plan of Azura & you'll be able to see the front (shaded). Sorry I tried to copy & paste one on here to show you but it wouldn't work!

Just be careful (especially if it's windy) as from memory the door is very heavy & there is a large metal step to navigate.

We loved it & were the only ones out there when we went to investigate.

  2. Hello,

We're travelling to the Fjords for the first time in May on board Azura.

Ports of call are as follows: -

    Bergan, Flaam, Geiranger & Stavanger

We've already booked the P&O organised tour for the Flaam Railway but would be grateful for advice on what to do at the other ports?

We're considering the Railway at Bergen, but wondered if this was better to to DIY as opposed to the organised tour which is more expensive & seems to involve a little bit of sightseeing on a coach.

    Any advice greatly appreciated.

    Thanks in advance.

    Joan

  3. The very nice customer services representative who phoned me said that it was quite complicated to work out whether I lost out or not, but when she did she realised that I was owed an adjustment.

I guess if it is not obvious, they would have to go through all the early bookings to work them out individually and I guess that is quite a task.

    Very pleased for you!

    I hadn't thought of that.

I guess in this modern era you would have thought some whizzy computer programme could have worked it all out.

Maybe there are still jobs for us humans after all!! :)

  4. Hello,

I've just received a very nice email from P&O advising that they're crediting my account with OBS for our Azura Fjords cruise in June.

This was booked last April via a TA but I emailed P&O directly.

Unfortunately, I couldn't find an email address for Customer Services so I sent it to the reservations email address. Didn't hear anything for over 2 weeks then saw someone had kindly posted the Customer Services email address on here so I sent another one (all very polite!).

Apparently, they had received my original email & in fact had dealt with it but they forgot to email me their response!

From the way their email was worded they know they've messed up with this OBS "issue".

I'm very pleased with the result and this evening they now have 2 very happy customers on their hands.:):)

It's just a shame that it seems we've all had to contact P&O to ask for this; if they're prepared to give it to those that ask surely they should just credit everyone's account that booked early via the 'Vantage / Select' fares.

  5. Thanks Molly, I intend to have a brilliant cruise :). I have started a roll call but so far I am the only cruiser lol .i will pop along to the singles meet and see what's happening.

    Hi Bluegirluk,

I might be looking in the wrong place but I can't find your roll call.

I've found on on the roll call page under Azura 3rd May & rest assured you're not the only one going.

My Husband & I are also on this cruise & Dai is willing to arrange a get together on board if people are interested.

Hope you see you on Azura in a few weeks time (sounds better than a couple of months!).

  6. Hello,

I'm not sure if this is the right place to be posting this so apologies if I'm wrong!

I own a Sony HDD camcorder & have recently upgraded to a windows 8 laptop.

I used to use Sony's own software 'Picture Motion Browser' to edit my DVD's (not to any great standard!) but this isn't supported by windows 8.

Sony now recommend 'Play Memories' however, I can't even get my images to play using this let alone try editing.

I'm therefore looking at purchasing a software package but not being that technically minded didn't want to spend a fortune no something I won't be able to operate.

I keep seeing people posting wonderful videos with captions & music etc & given time would love to be able to do that.

What sort of things are you using?

Any advice would be greatly received.

    Many thanks.

    Joan

  7. Hi Steve,

Thank you for the video link.

Wow it looks wonderful, can't wait to go now!!

I just wish I could edit my cruise DVD's as well as you've done.

If you don't mind me asking what software do you use?

  8. Hi Dai & Harriet,

My Husband & I too are on this cruise so might see you on board.

Our first suite on board was mid ship but we were very disappointed by the balcony so we booked an aft suite for the 'Grand Event' (A750) which was huge!

We would have booked this again but felt that for the Fjords we wanted to be on the side of the ship as opposed to the aft so have opted for a Superior Deluxe on D deck.

If anyone has any tips for excursions I'd love to know as the Fjords is a 1st for us so don't really know which ones to do.

    Joan

  9. Hello Harriet,

We've been lucky enough to have cruised on Azura twice in a suite, once in a mid ship one & once in an aft suite.

A big tip for you ....

When you embark and are taken to the priority embarkation lounge

    1) Make sure the people who great you a the door give you a card to place on your table. As there's more than one Butler on Azura this helps him to identify you as one of his guests. 2) Make sure you don't 'hide away' in a corner. We did this on our 2nd cruise thinking we'd sit out of everyone's way with our carry on luggage and we were one of the last guests to be collected!

I'm not sure if P&O offer a pillow selection as such like some other cruise lines do, but if you need something different then just ask. I'm sure either your Butler or your cabin steward can arrange it for you.

In addition to what Dai has said about eating in Seventeen (you must try it!), don't forget that as a Suite passenger you can also order anything from the in cabin menu & including chargeable items & they're free!

I'm sure you'll have a wonderful time & if you think of anything else please ask.

  10. Big Foot - wonderful pics! Could you confirm whether the couch in the sitting area unfolds into a sofa bed? Thanks!

    Hello,

Unfortunately, I cannot confirm either way.

I have just replied to another thread whereby someone had booked this for 3 & has been moved.

Given the make up of the mini suite I don't think you'd be able to get past the sofa bed & therefore "health & safety" issues might come into play!

  11. I booked L107 and M107 on the Royal Princess for a trip to the Carribean April 20,2014. I booked these rooms with trepidation because they were so far forward.I also knew they were huge rooms with exremely large balconies. After reading early reviews I thought these were going to be great rooms. Imagine my surprise when I received an email from princess saying we were upgraded. Well my upgrade was M210 and 214. I called princess and told them I wanted my original rooms and the rep told me that L107 could not accommodate 3 people. It is a huge room and I really doubt that this is true. My daughter will be 12 on this cruise so I do not know if they did not want a child in this room or what. I have had to settle for 2 minisuites B415 and 417 which cost a whole lot more money in the first place but I thought I had booked 2 great rooms to begin with and I thought reading the reviews on this forum I probably knew more about this ship than the princess reps. This whole incident was very disappointing. I am a planner and do things like this way in advance. I wanted to share what happened.

    Hello Najones58,

I stayed in L107 on one of the 2 night preview cruises & posted the photos on CC.

Here is a link to the photos of the mini suite

Whilst I'm not saying it is right the only thing I can think off is that if / when the sofa bed is made up you wouldn't be able to walk past it & therefore the passengers sleeping in the main bedroom area wouldn't be able to get to the bathroom & or the door {balcony or stateroom} in case of emergency.

If you look at all my pictures {sorry I am at work & cannot upload individual ones into this message} you'll see how different the layout of this mini suite is to most.

You should just be able to see from one of my photos where it shows the 2 TV's just where the sofa is located.

    I hope this helps.

  12. OMG!!! YES!!! LOL! We have this particular cabin booked for next year and have yet to see any pictures of it! Thank you soooo much!!!

    Hi Donna,

    Glad I could help.

I'm sure you'll love the mini suite, we did & we we're only on board for 2 nights.

    Joan

  13. Two questions - you said you could not use due to the wind, but did you have access when underway or did they lock it?

Second - did they make you close drapes at night so as not to affect bridge ops?

Saw your post about the motion - thats probably the killer for us out of NYC...

    Hello,

The door to the balcony was not locked & we could & did go out there, but it just wasn't very nice with the very strong winds & you could definitely feel the ship moving up & down.

On a different cruise it would be a lovely balcony & certainly somewhere you'd get the sun & unlike the aft suites no one could look down on you from above.

Yes the drapes were closed of an evening; I can't remember the exact wording but yes it was something to do with the ships navigational systems.

    Hope this helps.

  14. Hello,

Glad I could be of assistance.

I don't normally post on CC but a quiet day at work found me surfing the net ... naughty me LOL!!

We were allocated this mini suite on a "guarantee" basis & had reservations at first but it was lovely.

We had a bumpy cruise across to Guernsey & we couldn't anchor their because of the rough seas so it became a cruise to nowhere!

I would say that if anyone is inclined to feel sea sick then this probably isn't the stateroom for you as you certainly did feel the movement of the ship.

Just to prove how windy it was one of the chairs that is positioned nicely at the front of the balcony was situated outside the patio door on the narrow bit of the balcony when we woke up on Saturday morning!!

  15. Thank you all for the great cabin photo's :D, please keep sending new shots taken of the cabins and the balcony area for all of us to see, we can make this posting the cabin photo stop. Its very helpful!!!!;):D:)

    Hello,

Please find attached some photos of the mini suite I stayed in on one of the 2 night preview cruises.

Given it's location it is a very different layout to the midship mini suite, but we loved the set up & the balcony, albeit due to the wind we were unable to use it!!

    Hope this helps someone.
