Floralscent, that’s not typically to M class. Our last cruise to Asia on Millennium had party all night.
Now there’s a large Asian percentage of passengers on board.
Hmmm…Interesting for sure. Thank you for all of your reporting on past Japan cruises, Miaminice. Your vlogs and comments helped us plan this current trip. Much appreciated!

From looking at your pictures it does not seem that the ship is that crowded? I always see empty seats. Is this an M class feature or just the time of the pictures?
I am on this sailing as well and will say most areas of the ship are clear of people, aside from the buffet and coffee shop. At night the dining room is caked and Tuscan and Petite have both been full n the nights we’ve visited. Bars and lounges are pretty empty, including the martini bar in the evenings. Not sure where the people are because I ‘think’ we have a full ship. We are loving the open people-less spaces as we’ve never been on a sailing with open spaces like this.
I can’t say if this is an M class feature or not as this is our first M class. We are seasoned S class and have been on the Edge once.

Excellent trip report, thank you for sharing the information and your lovely photos.
We are doing this trip next October and have never been to Japan before.
You will not be disappointed! We are on this sailing as well and it is our first time in Japan. What an AMAZING experience. We have traveled to many places and Japan is by far our most favorite. Honestly I can’t stop saying ‘wow’ out loud.
zeberdee, you will not be disappointed!

wonder how OP made out???
Thank you all for the advice and info! Once I realized what was happening to me, I knew this community would be very helpful…thanks again!!!
Update- When I phoned guest services after my original post, they asked that I call back at 4:00 once medical opened. I did that and got an appointment for 6:15, so I just kept drinking water. I showered, got ready for our 8pm Tuscan reservation and showed up for my appointment a bit early-6:05. They took me right in, I gave them a sample and 15 minutes later I was out of there with an antibiotic and the other med that turns urine orange/red. No wine for me at Tuscan last night 😞 but that’s okay.
I am starting to feel better. Last night I asked for a detailed bill as suggested here and was told I would get it today or tomorrow. The app shows my visit and meds totaling $199.95 (what a deal compared to my Dr in US). I’ll go to guest relations for my paper bill later and then submit to my private med ins and then travel ins.
I will report back on reimbursement outcomes later so this info is available later for someone who finds themselves in this same situation.

hoping not serious but utis are very painful..hope med center helps .
aside from drinking cranberry juice as a preventive, i travel with OTC little red pills( Uristat?) ..they do not cure but can give relief (& turn urine red orange)
best of course is Dr Rx..let us know how it works out!
Ohhh…can you buy that OTC at any pharmacy? Don’t recall seeing that in US but doesn’t mean it’s not available.

You cannot just go to medical. You are required to call through guest relations who will transfer the call to medical and they will give you an appointment.
Thank you, that’s what I just found out! I appreciate everyone’s quick replies ❤️

Hello! I am onboard Millie right now and think I have a UTI. I have never needed medical assistance onboard and am wondering if anyone can offer suggestions for navigating this situation. I do have travel insurance and have been told to phone guest services at 4 pm once medical is open. Any advice is GREATLY appreciated.
Thank you

We only ever have a table for 2. You can see the maitre D when you get on board and ask for select dining or you can stick with your assigned time and ask for a table for 2.
On boarding day you can also ask the maitre d if you can walk through the dinning room to see the tables. Note the table numbers you like and when you walk to the select dining no reservation podium at dinner time, tell them what tables you’d like and they will give you a pager and call you when the table is ready. If you are patient, you will get the table you want. Works every time for us.

Hi everyone! Has anyone used the app to reserve specialty dining once onboard? If yes, is it a smooth process or just easier to go to a podium to book in person?
We have a dining pkg and usually go to a podium but noticed the app has a place to reserve once onboard.
Thank you!

We love a nice Malbec and have found one onboard on S and Edge class, although cannot seem to remember what it's called. Seems Malbec is not really shown on a menu ever.

The shops are run by a concessionaire, not by the cruise line. So they are completely different entities.
That makes sense but still is frustrating.

We are sailing Millie in a few weeks and this will be our first time on an M class ship. What bars on Millie have Macallan 12 or 18, Woodford Reserve or other high end scotch (I know high end may be subjective)? I ask because it seems like most bars, when sailing the S class, don't have these products readily available and someone from the bar has to walk far to get it for us.
Honestly it's frustrating to see these items for sale in the shops but yet near impossible to find at a bar. Thank you!

Thank you for going through the trouble of posting cruisestitch! Appreciate it-

We sail concierge class all the time and 4 adults would be impossible, if you ask me. Three would even be pushing it.

Forgot to ask my other question- is the MY-YU ticket station near the downtown Kochi terminal- at the info center? I think it is. Thanks

Thank you for your reply, monkey@cruise! You are so incredibly helpful…
Is the complimentary shuttle from cruise terminal different from the $25 pp/rt shuttle that people talk about on these boards? Maybe this is the same shuttle and is free now?

We are sailing on the Celebrity Millennium and will be at the Port of Kochi. We really want to see Makino Gardens and wonder if there is an easy way for us to get there for a DIY tour?
Thank you-

We are sailing on the Millennium in October and this will be our first M class ship. Typically, we steer away from main dining due to the closeness of the tables and lack of privacy as a result. We have anytime dining and will likely eat in the main dining room a few nights and specialty dining for all others.
Can anyone recommend a table number/location for a private table for two? We love people but are not interested in dining 3-5 inches from someone after we just spent the whole day touring. We will wait as long as needed and eat as late as necessary in order to get a nice private table.
Thanks so much! -
We purchase a dining pkg pre cruise every time and you are never able to prebook dinners. The first dinner is reserved for you on day 1 and you can change that once onboard.
Schedule your dinners first thing once you board.

My husband and I just returned from a Summit 11 day cruise out of Boston(Sept 10-21), We had an ejoyable cruise, but were disappointed in the incorrect charges to our onboard account. We had 4 incorrect charges, 3 for premium glasses of wine and 1 for a bottle of wine. We had the premium beverage package, sothe 3 beverage charges should have benn covered. We never ordered the bottle of wine. All charges were reversed after conversing with guest services.
So sorry that happened to you. This honestly happen to us at least a few times every cruise and we find it so frustrating. I feel nit-picky complaining about it each time but since we never even drink the items we are being charged for...no excuse. It is a disappointing way to end a cruise or to deal with while on vacation.

Hello! Can anyone share the exchange fees onboard a Celebrity ship? We would be converting USD to Yen. We won’t need much cash on our trip and may just exchange onboard for ease. Any details are appreciated.

After living in Japan for over 35 years, frequently travelling into and out of the country, I have never experienced nor heard of anyone ever having any issues with personal medications at the Japan Border.
I am concerned about a prescription I have for a pain killer for my shoulder. Do I need to leave this at home and just deal with the incredible pain while in Japan? I definitely have a prescription and want to do the right thing. -

Well, after much looking around everywhere, in both blogs and 3rd party cruising articles, I discovered that the drinks my wife and I have preferred for many decades, basically since our college days, including liquor, wines, and beer, are all in the Premium package. Not that they're all 'premium' but that it is where Celeb has placed therm. By contrast, Princess (our last 12 cruises) has them all included in their lower tier package, which they call Princess Plus and is the one we always purchase, vs. their Premium Plus which is their higher one. However, I just saw a 35% "flash sale" on the Celeb website for purchasing their Premium, so I cancelled our Classic and bought their discounted Premium for only $69.99/day/pp, less than their Classic at $89/day/pp. All is well now!
My suggestion is you continue to log in to your Celebrity account every now and again to check for a larger flash sale. These can be found around a holiday or just at random. Recently, we were able to upgrade from classic to premium for $9.99 pp/pd, plus gratuity on just a random Friday afternoon…I could not believe it. I do think it depends a lot on the itinerary though as to whether or not great deals can be had.
You can always cancel a current purchase and just repurchase at the discounted price. Good luck

Thank you very much, just called Celebrity and upgraded to the premium drink package with a 15% discount.
Not sure when you are sailing but check the Celebrity website often. We recently got a 50% upgrade discount on the classic to premium upgrade. Check often and especially around holidays.
