  1. We sailed on Princess and their beverage package is more flexible. Not everyone in the cabin as to buy the package. I bought the package and my wife didn't. Plus it is unlimited drinks. The only thing is you are not suppose to share drinks. But you know how that goes, I shared some drinks with my wife. Carnival should do the same thing not requiring for both people in the cabin to buy the package.

This is why prices rise and package terms become more restrictive. Why can't people grasp the very logical cause-and-effect of their actions?

  2. Yup - discussed many, many times here over several months.

Odd you would be refused a menu and be given a photocopy at guest services. However, if this were in the midst of a first sailing rollout they might have misjudged printing quantity or got shortchanged by the print company.

I was impressed with the room sevice menu upgrade and thought it was well worth it.

  3. Well you're smarter then me.

    Because I'm stupid?????;)

So much for being less confrontational.

You saw a lower price elsewhere, felt pressured to book when you werent ready and felt you werent getting the bargain you believed you were entitled to.

And yet you booked anyway. Sour grapes? You betcha!

  4. Just a suggestion, but just google Fun Times to get an idea of what you can expect. I know it's not what you're looking for, but at least you'll have a decent idea and can plan accordingly.

    .

Pretty much this. The activities are pretty much the same monotonous ones repeated over and over.

If you're concerned about missing an activity because of a steakhouse reservation, skip it. There will always be some activity scheduled at whatever time you plan to be in the Steakhouse and you'll just have to be OK with missing it.

  5. Hopefully I don't get flamed here!! Is it possible to do with a 3 year old?? I would love to do this!!

Don't want to 'flame' you; however, if I were to show up and there were little ones I would request my money back ($75) and leave. This experience is no place for little ones.

I'd be less disagreeable if they charged the toddler the full $75 cover but still think its not the experience most children would appreciate (I say most - not all).

  6. You are proposing that NCL, who sells cruises 2 years into the future, should not put a new company policy into effect for 2 years. Waiting 2 years to institute a new policy is not going to happen. The most I would expect for them to wait is 90 to 120 days, whichever would allow passengers to cancel without penalty and I think that is what NCL has been doing.

    Someone gets it! Thumbs up.

  7. I asked the ?? Because I read this from another post "We just got off the Dream yesterday and as of last Sunday, November 8, everyone was required to participate in the muster drill. This one was conducted a little different from our previous ones and seemed to go much smoother. Our muster station was in the Crimson MDR and it was full.

Wanted to see if they were changing to having them in lounges on the Conquest too

Your original post wasnt phrased as a question but as a fact. You ascribed the muster process to be the same for ALL ships based on what you read in one post about the process of one ship. All passengers have ALWAYS had to attend the muster drill as conducted on the ship they are sailing.

You misinterpreted was was being stated in the post you quoted.

  8. That is what I thought also but a lot of people on my January cruise were able to switch to a guarantee room. They are still price matching but can only price match to another guarantee room price in their same category.

For example, switch to an inside guarantee, you price is now $400. Next sale, an inside guarantee is $350. They were able to get the $50 obc due to they are matching to an inside guarantee. They are still ES but can only price match to a guarantee room.

Some were denied the credit but reminded Carnival that they originally booked ES and were given the credit because once ES, always ES and you can price match to the category you are in.

    Hope this makes sense.:)

Permission to make this kind of switch is at the discretion of Carnival as it is not part if the existing terms and conditions of the Early Saver offer. Many have been successful in making this one time change and remain Early Saver but can not make any other change to something other than a guarantee rate.

Do so with full understandng of how the terms of your altered booking will affect you.

  9. I was on this sailing as well and had a completely opposite perspective.

The A/C and elevator outage was negligible in terms of duration and in my opinion they repaired whatever problem quickly.

An older ship will always show signs of its age and nothing I saw was in such disrepair as to concern me. I wasnt in every restroom so cant speak to a broken urinal but if you say so, OK.

My experiences with entertainment, activities and service was more than expected. I thoroughly enjoy the Pride and encourage others to experience it as well.

We did a beach day in Nassau, bike and hike at Half Moon Cay and kayaked in Grand Turk. Each was exceptional and if you are looking for a little physical activity (not overly strenuous) I highly recommend the HMC hike and bike. It was fun, informative and a nice change of pace (for us) to just sitting on the beach or swimming for the entire day. A nice couple of hours experiencingthe wonders of a Caribbean island.

If you take the Pride's limitations of being an older, smaller ship without a plethora of bells and whistles you will enjoy and appreciate it just fine!

  10. In my opinion if you are within driving distance, arrive later. The lines will not be longer as most are either coming in the day before and from a hotel with early check out or just eager to be on board as soon as possible.

With your mobility issues it would better serve you to arrive later, not earlier, so that you can be assured to get the assistance you need with boarding.

Trying to navigate the early boarding crush is something I would want to avoid if better alternatives were feasible.

Safe and comfortable travels whatever you decide.
