  1. I have sailed numerous times from both Ft Lauderdale and Miami and I am familiar with how things are done there. Specifically security consists of walking through a metal detector that is set on a low sensitivity (no pat downs like you may receive at the airport unless the metal detector senses something) and putting carry on bags through an X-ray machine. It is not necessary to remove belts, shoes, empty pockets, etc.....Is Galveston essentially the same? Thank you!

  3. We dock in Montego Bay on an upcoming cruise. We are a fairly active family with 2 children ages 7 and 16. Dunns River and Blue Hole are out as they are too far. I am looking for suggestions on what to do (with prices if possible).

  4. I also had a bad experience with Greys excursions last week. Although, Thenford himself was not our tour guide we did meet him for approximately 30 seconds while he was putting us into a van which was a taxi with about 10 other people. Our tour started about 30 minutes after it was scheduled too (which should have been our first clue as how the day was going to go). The sites that we visited included the Batik Factory, Brimstone Fortress, Timothy Hill and the beach; however, only 2 people stayed at the beach as it was dirty and we had concerns that he would return to pick us up for the return to the ship. We were left alone to visit the other sites ourself. The fortress was interesting and the view from Timothy Hill was beautiful; however the roads were very narrow. It appears Greys excursions are hit and miss depending on the tour guide. Good luck if you decide to book this tour.

  5. My cruise documents state the boarding time for our upcoming cruise does not start until 1pm (for our deck). Can anyone verify if we can board before that time if we are at the port? I want to maximize our time onboard without having to sit in the cruise terminal for an extended period of time.
