  1. I hope the OP doesn't mind I hijacked this thread to ask questions as well.

1: We are bringing our 18 month old, will she be allowed in DL during cocktail hours? Are there highchairs in there? I'm thinking she would like to have some fruit and maybe some of the other items to eat.

2: What types of snacks they offer in the DL during cocktail hour or throughout the day (morning, afternoon)?

3: Each Diamond member gets their own coupon loaded? So, one internet coupon for me, and one internet coupon for wife?  We are both diamond on our own. Also, this would allow us to get 2 free photos then?

4: How does the free internet for a day work? I was thinking to use one for last day to check into flight.

5: Does beer by the glass mean draft beer only? Bottled beer is technically in a glass. Wife doesn't drink alcohol so if there are two separate coupons loaded for each card I will use her card for more beer. Any idea what draft beers are available on Indy?

  2. We have taken our 7 month old daughter on a cruise last year (NCL Escape). Now she is going on another end of April at 18 months (IndyOS).

JBR covered a lot of useful information. I would suggest an over the door shoe holder to hold all of the baby lotions (sunscreen/skin), pastes (diaper rash), medications (infant Motrin/tylenol pedialyte, gas drops), odds and ends to save space in the cabin.

They provided a pack and play to use as a crib. Bring bedtime books and toys. Try to make bedtime similar to home.

We also brought infant ear protection headphones for the muster drill horn.

  3. I don't specifically but remember seeing some posted on the NCL boards. Almost any drink you would order should be covered unless you require a specific liquor. There were a couple premium vodkas, etc but most of the high end stuff was scotch, bourbon, etc.

Thank you again for all your help and information. I enjoyed reading your report from a fellow buckeye's perspective. I will board Sunday.

Go Bucks! I'm from the crossroads of Northeast Ohio, right in between Akron and Cleveland. Ex Buckeye/current Cleveland Brown Denzel Ward went to the same High School I went to a live in.

  4. Thank you all, it appears that everyone's tastes are different, all are good in their own way. I think I narrowed it down to Cagney's and Le Bistro for sure and a toss up between La Cucina and Moderno. I will end up ordering meat at each restaurant and my bride will end up with some sort of seafood. Typing this up looks like it should be, Le Bistro, Cagney's and Moderno for us.

  5. Between Moderno, Le Bistro, La Cucina, and Cagney's on Escape which 3 would you recommen dine? We have the 3 meal dining plan.

Tappenyaki is out as hibachi does not sit well with us (we've tried hibachi multiple places in multiple states with same outcome). :(

  6. No need for either. Get some hot water and put the bottle in it for a few minutes and it will warm up. We have used the coffee pot to heat water for this purpose, or you can get it from restaurant, buffet, etc. Also no need to sanitize bottles. At that age babies are chewing on everything they can reach. Pretty silly to sterilize a bottle then baby puts remote control in her mouth :) We do take a bottle brush and small container of dish soap to wash bottles.

Thank you! Going on Escape with our 7 month old in a few weeks. Trying to read up and get tips everywhere I can get.

  7. I just disembarked the Gem this morning. I brought on about 8 bags of breast milk and my breast pump no problem at all.

edit to add: the bags lasted up to 5 days in the mini fridge. I just used the first pumped first used method and it worked great.

Are you able to bring on board a bottle warmer? What about sanitizing bottles?

  8. or spirits, cocktails, draft or bottled beer and glasses of wine over $15 USD."

"or" tells you the next group of items are related to the same same exception which is "$15 USD".

This makes it even more confusing. The wording makes it still sound like nothing is included.

"The Ultimate Beverage Package does not include room service, package sales, ship specific promotions or beer buckets, designated Super Premium brands (subject to change), bottled wine, mini bar purchases, bottled water, fresh squeezed juices, select Lavazza coffee beverages, energy drinks, vending machines, wine stations or spirits, cocktails, draft or bottled beer and glasses of wine over $15 USD."

  9. A new bottled water thread AND a new tipping thread?....it must be Monday. ;)

Anyway, the UBP (Ultimate Beverage Package) Terms and Conditions.

"The Ultimate Beverage Package does not include room service, package sales, ship specific promotions or beer buckets, designated Super Premium brands (subject to change), bottled wine, mini bar purchases, bottled water, fresh squeezed juices, select Lavazza coffee beverages, energy drinks, vending machines, wine stations or spirits, cocktails, draft or bottled beer and glasses of wine over $15 USD."

Any English majors here? How I am reading the wording will all commas, no drinks are included in the UBP.

  10. My Uber experience from EWR to Cape Liberty Cruise port.

$22.90 to go from Newark airport level 2 terminal A to Cape Liberty cruise port. Requested at 9:13 am arrived at the cruise port at 9:32 am. Sunday, May 21

$25.51 to go from Cape Liberty cruise port to Newark airport. Requested at 9:38 am; arrived at Newark airport at 9:58 am. Sunday, May 28

Using Uber was very cost and time efficient. I would recommend to use this service to save time and money. Both drivers to and from the cruise port helped load luggage into their car. Note: I requested an Uber X, which easily handled 1 large check bag, 2 rolling carry on bags, and 2 duffel bags used as personal items.

  11. I think you should be ok then...but I have read that some in those far aft cabins had some "shaking" going on during docking...we did not feel that in 1108. LuAnn

I should only feel the "shaking" twice then. I will be going on the Summit to Bermuda and only have to dock once in Bermuda and the second time back in Bayonne. This will be no issue to me as it will act as my alarm clock.
