  1. Hi. Since the OP mentioned not dining in the specialty venues I thought I would reply. We have previously sailed on the Epic and will again on 8/19. If you want to eat in the Manhattan Room, Cagneys or LeBistro no shorts are permitted for anyone 12 or over. Jeans are actually permitted as long as not torn or hanging off. Polos are fine as well. I just shared all of this info with my group too. You will see people in jeans, slacks, suits, and even a tux or two. My DH and the boys usually wear khakis and a polo. Go with what works best for you. Hope that helped.

  2. Well, it has been an interesting day. Unfortunately, I will not be able to post the closing of my review tonight.

I just got home a short while ago. I was involved in a hit-and-run crash on the way home from work. Thankfully, I was not hurt (and obviously the other person was okay since he drove off without stopping). My dash cam caught the incident on video, and it is clear I was not at fault. I just have to try to see if we can get out of paying the $3,000 deductible, because that is a cruise for 3 in a balcony cabin!!!

I’m in mental recovery mode, so I will be back tomorrow with my last day views. Thanks for hanging around my thread! [emoji846]

Gosh! Glad you are ok! Hope you don’t have to pay that deductible!

Hotel Continental Barcelona was on our short list. But we ended up booking a three bedroom apartment for about the same price. Our kids will be 17 and 3 when we travel, so separate spaces was ideal. Especially once we are on board and in closer quarters. Hope everything worked out ok for you. [emoji4]

Thanks Janet! We needed a bunch of rooms. We have 27 now at Hotel Continental. The breakfast buffet and 24 hour snacks and drinks won't hurt. LOL

Will let you know how it goes.

It's a diagonal balcony and indeed larger, there's a bit of a zig zag to get to your stateroom corridor so the mid ship location might be less attractive than it at first appears to be, just a side note. :)

    Thanks so much!

My group has 11 in a row on this deck and ours is in the middle. We will live with the zig zag, excited for the extra space on the balcony.

    Thanks for the pic!

  5. Hi, we are a family of 4 staying in cabin 14088 next August. We have a bunch of cabins in a row. Am I correct in reading this balcony is a bit larger because of the bump out? I selected this one because we wanted deck 14 and I thought it might be when I looked at the deck plans. We dont' mind the cover from deck 15 but it would be great to have the extra space.

If you happen to have a pic would you share?

    Thanks so much!

  6. :halo:

I would start calling or email some of the hotel now just to get a idea how they may accommodate your needs for such large group discounts may be in order. We are booked at HOTEL EUROPARK for our upcoming Med. Horizon cruise April 29 give them a call or email.

Thanks much! Our TA has contacted quite a few hotels, he is waiting for replies.

I was just hoping for recommendations for people who have actually stayed As triples and quads and o truly appreciate all of the input.

I will make sure Europark is on our list to check.

  7. :)

The Tryp Apolo Barcelona really suits our priorities, so much that we've stayed there three times with our two older teens. The quad rooms are more like 2 room suites, with the second room containing two separate single beds for the teens and a door that can be closed to separate the rooms. Furthermore, we can walk from there to the pick up spot for the port bus on embarkation day. Also, they have an affiliation with a nearby full service fitness center that allows guests free entry, including use of the large indoor lap pool. We would not stay anywhere else.

Wow! Thanks for the info! Will check it out!!!

  8. Cruise cash is use or lose, BUT you can cash out at the casino. Any money left from actual gift cards is refunded in another gift card, but if you buy cruise cash with a gift card then cruise cash rules apply. Just make sure you don't buy too much cruise cash. If you have anything left over, cash out at the casino otherwise you will lose it.

Thanks! I guess the rules changed or someone was just nice to me on my Dream cruise a few years ago. They gave me a gift card back with balance. Sorry if I gave you bad info!

  9. If you're on your iPhone, tap the pic then the little square with the arrow on the bottom left pops up. Tap that and then save image or you can email it to yourself and print from there.

Thanks, the images won't save so looks like I have to email them one at a time. Might wait till I get home and let one of my kids do it. 🤣
