The only other advice I can give is to call 877-RETREAT and talk to a shoreside concierge. I believe it's option 3 you want. Maybe they can do something for you or, at least, give some better advice.

I don't think anyone knows whether they still do that program you described, but it's sure worth asking about. Even if it doesn't, I would be surprised if Luminae cannot accommodate your son at least a couple times

If nothing else, you can have a dinner or two (or as many as you'd like) with your son in your suite. You have a fantastic dining table in there and even a half bath. You can arrange it with your butler if you want it served in courses. You also have specialty dining (which is included for your and your husband).

We were in an RS on Equinox last Fall, and it was fantastic. Best cruise ship room I've ever stayed in.

Thank you for responding and the advice 😊

  2. Hi - My husband and I will be in a RS in April on the Equinox. My adult son, who decided to travel with us last minute, has an inside cabin down the hall. I read somewhere that you can set up for a day or two to pay $99 per day for him to have the suite amenities. He doesn't drink alcohol, so it would really only be for boarding the ship and maybe a meal or two in Luminae. Have any of your done this, and if so, how did you arrange - by calling the Retreat line ahead of time?  Thanks for any info. 🙂

Congratulations on your royal suite, yes you should get the pajamas, you should be contacted by concierge before and you can tell them yo monogrammed the,. We are aLeo doing a royal suite on summit in March for our annual rock and romance charter . We are doing fine , it was fun meeting you and your husband on Edge , hopefully we can sail together on a future cruise . All the specialty restaurants are free and you will get two liters of liquor, you can just pick which ones you want , we don’t normally spend that much time in suite so we normally bring the liquor home with us.

Sounds good - thanks!  We are looking forward to it!!  Have fun in March!

Agree we went from sky to penthouse last July on edge and got all those perks

Hi George!  Hope you both are well! We are going back on board the Edge on 4/3 🙂  I tried a move-up for PH but only the min amount - those probably never get picked - I figured what the heck!

  6. Thank you - I hope this is the case. Seems strange that it would just be for that short of a time, and what are they going to do - follow you around and chase you out 😮   I was on the Edge in July and the price I believe was $69 per day.  $39 is a great price, they want you to buy ahead online I guess. The weekly price online was $119 - so $39 makes sense. I guess we will find out for sure when we get on board - if by some weird chance it's 15 min - I will get a credit. That's insane. Thanks for your information!

  7. Hi - so does anyone know - on the Edge - we purchased a one day singles pass online for $39 per person. We had to pick a day and time - but someone said it was only for 15 minutes??  That doesn't make any sense - I would assume you could stay longer - maybe not go in and out all day - but longer than 15 minutes?   I thought it was just the time that you were supposed to enter.

I was in an inside S3 (not corner) on 9 and loved the location and no noise from hallway because of the vestibule.  I would book that cabin again without hesitation.

I agree - we were just in one on 8 - having that little private hallway was great - never heard any noise at all. The Magic Carpet thing was all the way up most of the time and I knew to book a lower level floor so that if you looked up, it wouldn't be right over your head 🙂   We never saw or heard the carpet go by ever - kinda wanted to at some point!  Great Cabin!

Would you mind expanding on this more, was it true Capt Kate announced this on board?  She announced an unvaxed couple (or pair) left the ship tour and would be getting kicked off?

Sounds like NDA's could be in place; I bet many would want to hear an interview from the couple.

I didn't hear Captain Kate's announcement but the Guest Services Officer told my husband by the Retreat Pool the next day... We saw some of the drama before we went to dinner because we overlooked the gangway from the 8th floor....

  10. They offer off menu items Shrimp Cocktail, Escargot, French Onion Soup for starters. Salmon and a Chicken Breast for entrees. Also many desserts - ice creams etc. were available that were not on the menu. I asked our waiter for Creme Brulee at the beginning of the meal one night - and he was able to bring me one. They are all very accommodating 🙂   Was a great week, and now here I sit, eating a salad with sliced turkey at my desk from a Tupperware container 😮

I'm quite certain they WERE tagged in the system as unvaxxed. (I am a librarian & my simple program allows me to make comments about students & it gives me an alert when I bring their account up).

I suspect they DID book a ship excursion--therefore WERE allowed off the ship, with the excursion. But at some point they decided to depart the excursion & tour on their own. When the tour operator took a head count, then takes attendance, then it is clear what happened. Alert the ship & local officials & the rest is history.

We were on board and this is what we were told. They were made to leave the ship - but we had to wait for them to have a Covid Test before St. Maarten would allow them off the ship....

  12. I have a family member with one - I recommend taking some extra plastic grocery bags with you for when you have to change.  They don't have them in the cans in the rooms.  Also - like the post above - bring extra for sure.  Changes is diet can really change the output etc. Other then that - enjoy!!!
