I did the exact same thing a couple years ago when I was taking my 2 daughters and it was well worth it! Lots more room........the bathroom is very large! The icing on the cake will be going to the Concierge Lounge for complimentary drinks/cocktails/wine before dinner, and stopping in for complimentary breakfast items in the mornings. You will love it, and unfortunately will be spoiled after staying in a GS!

Ooops. I just discovered you were on the Summit and we will be on RCCL Explorer. Don't know whether that will make a difference in estimating how much time it will take for us to get from the ship to Newark airport by taxi.

We plan to catch a cab from the port to Newark airport one week from today, just as you did. What time did you get off the ship and what time did you get to the airport? Thanks =

You just got off Explorer? Did you by any chance notice if there were any tables for 2 in the dining room either by a window, or by a railing.....that would not be too close to another table for 2? I keep reading that most tables for two are so close together that some people say they didn't like them.

I have asked this question on another thread, but have not heard back, so here goes.

My husband and I are sailing on RCCL Explorer in August, sailing on a Saturday and returning on a Thursday morning. If I make arrangements with a car service in advance to pick us up at Cape Liberty and take us to Newark airport (EWR), will we more than likely be able to make a 12:00 noon return flight? I realize there may be delays in clearing customs, etc., but with everything going the way it usually does, what do you think? I might add that we will be in a Grand Suite so we will get priority disembarkation, which should get us off the ship in the first wave of passengers. My only two flight choices (using some points on Southwest) are 12:00 noon or 12:40 pm, but the 12:40 pm flight has a 4 1/2 hour layover at Midway in Chicago!! I guess I am hoping that most of you experts will tell me that we should be able to make the 12:00 noon flight :) Help!

We have been to Orient Beach several times, and it is one of the prettiest places we've ever been, nudity or not..... does not bother us one bit. Will be there again next week off the cruise ship Allure of the Seas. Can anyone tell me where KonTiki Restaurant is in relation to Club Orient? We have enjoyed eating there on a couple of trips, but can't remember exactly how to get there.
