We only booked a balcony once. It was nice and we got a lot of perks but I would rather get a cheap room and spend on other things.

We have always cruised Celebrity, never Princess. Just signed up for the March 4 Hawaii cruise of Grand Princess. How does dining work? It looks like there are two main restaurants. I told TA to sign us up for Select Dining and to request tables for two. Can we go to either restaurant? What is the difference between the two? Do they feature the same menu?
What does it cost to go to the specialty restaurants? Are they worth the upcharge?
Are there any other dining tips a Princess newbie should know about?
BTW, I tried to get info on the Princess website but it was very uninforming.
Also, the Celebrity board has a search engine on the first page. There doesn't seem to be one on this board. Is it hidden somewhere?
Thanks for you help.
The princess website has all the answers to your questions.

I know this may be strange. But I wanted to thank everyone for all their advice and tips. Even if you didn't respond to a post, you probably said something that I found useful.
So thanks to all the posters, and even lurkers. You make this site available and useful to us all.
I apologize if someone has already posted this, but wanted to express my thanks. I have learned a ton, and hope to share what I've learned, and learn a ton more!
back at ya. I agree. This is a fabulous resource and I, too, am grateful for it.

Thanks for all the info. I know I have a long time but I want to be sure to get our first choices.

When is the earliest you can sign up for excursions? Our cruise begins on October 28th..

Did you try posting in the Costa Rica forum? If one line offers it, the others usually do as well.
Thanks. I will try that.

I am still hoping to find someone who has taken the Hacienda tour which is offered in Limon, Costa Rica from the Coral Princess.

No, if you want to check in with Southwest 24 hours in advance on the cruise ship, you are going to have to buy (slow) internet minutes. (Or there's the Early Bird option, I guess.)
You may not need to worry about checking in 24 hours in advance on Southwest. My son, who cruised with us at the end of December, couldn't check in for his Southwest flight (a 2pm flight from Hobby to Love Field) until after 8am that same day and he had a low B number.
We also had no problem checking in on the same morning at the airport.

Fantastic review! We will be taking this cruise in October, 2015'

What is it and where does it go?
It is called Tayutic. They have orchids gardens, bananas, macadamia nuts, and coffee. They give a tour of all the facilities and provide lunch.

A friend of mine told me about a tour in Limon called the Hacienda Tour. She was very enthusiastic about it but went on it a number of years ago. Has anyone been on this tour recently? What can you tell me about it. The tour is offered on the 10 day Panama Canal cruise on the Coral Princess.

Good for you, there are people who check their fares every day.
I check almost every day.

Let us know if you have any specific questions about this cruise or the Coral Princess.
Thank you for the fabulous review. We are planning our cruise for Oct 2015.
Did I make a mistake??

I prefer fixed time dining. If I can't make it to dinner at that time, I know I won't go hungry. I can always go to the buffet or poolside grill.
