  1. Good to hear it turned out okay for your grandson. I hope he's feeling better today after starting a prescription for his cough. When will you all begin your travels??
  2. Are you referring to the Mapperton Estate from the "Ladies of London" shown on Peacock channel? Or do I have the name of the Estate wrong?🤔
  3. Well, what we've found worse than the Cross Bronx Expressway during rush hour, is sitting on I-95 in South Carolina, after a freak snowfall, heading South. It took us over 8 hours to get through the State, which normally would take 3 and a half to 4 hours. That was several years ago. Since Covid, more people (Snow Birds, et al) drive along I-95, and all you need is one accident, and you sit. SC is mostly just a two lane highway. I believe we are now done with that drive. We plan on flying from now on, and having our car shipped by truck to our Condo for the Winter.😉
  4. That's so nice! Thank you, Harry! I just realized that Jim and I are no longer New York(ers) since moving to New Jersey. LOL! However, since Jim is retired FDNY and spent time at Ground Zero, he and I will be free whenever the time comes that he's ready. Thank you again.🥰
  5. Oh, that's lovely, Pat! When i stayed in Monterey so many years ago, I stayed with friends of the family for a couple of weeks. While they were at work, (they were a block away, and were high up from the Ocean, almost like Cliffs) I would take walks along this magnificent area and fell in love with the beautiful, huge rocks just sitting there in the Pacific Ocean. Have a wonderful time at your family reunion!!!
  6. I just went through Security at a Concert last week to see Bob Dylan and Willie Nelson in N.J. last week. My bag was just a "teeny bit" bigger than they would allow. I was told that I could check the bag....there were over 17,000 people at this Venue, and I saw people checking their items that wouldn't pass. Luckily the bag I had wasn't a good bag, and there was no way I was going to have to retrieve my bag at the end of the Concert, so I just told them to throw it out! Lesson learned. I'll be carrying something just big enough to hold my wallet, phone, etc. I'll just carry my bottle of water next time..lol!
  7. I do plan on pre booking before I go to London once I have my air and hotel arrangements done., and will be printing out my tickets. I'm also planing on ordering Oyster cards for DH and myself. 😉 We're planning on visiting in September, and I told my TA that so far almost all of September is empty on our calendar, so she can book whatever looks good!
  8. Thank you for sharing! Beautiful!! This reminds me of when I stayed in Monterey, Ca. back in the late '60's. I took so many pictures of the huge and awesome rocks in the Pacific. Just amazing!
  9. @MJSailors I am so sorry for your loss of your dear friend. It sounds like she lived her life to the fullest! 🛳️ ❤️
  10. If you and Sharon find that you are both up for the trip, the way you spend each day on the road with 2 or 3 nights, could work out pretty well. I'm really so glad that you have the accessible van now!!
  11. Thank you for sharing and updating us on how your life is going. You have such an amazing, loving and strong wife in Sharon and such a wonderful family; and those grandchildren!!!! We know the smiles and happiness that they put on your face every time you see them. That Kenzie squeezing your feet. Love it!! Your positivity is such an inspiration for us all. How great that you now have an accessible van and can ride right into the side of the van! Now that you and Sharon will be driving to Florida, how many hours is it from your home? Keep those Dad jokes coming, John!! 🥰🙏+ hugs!!!
  12. The same here. I pay in cash in some stores that I'd prefer not to use my CC, and always pay in cash while eating out. My choice, of course, but it is my choice. All of the businesses where I live do take cash.😉
  13. Thank you so much, Joanne! I asked our friends if they would like to see the Ceremony of the Keys, and they said it would be too late for them after touring all day. I will definitely look into the ceremony to open the tower!!!
  14. My daughters are all allergic to cats. Years ago, my daughter stroked a cat, which licked her. She immediately broke out in hives. My MIL had a dog years ago, that my oldest daughter and I would get extremely itchy around. No other dogs, just that one. It was a mutt that had wiry hair.
