  1. Happy 75th Birthday, George! Enjoy your Special Day, and especially your Johnny Walker Gold with dinner! Thank you Debbie! I appreciate it! Btw, you sure picked a great time to spend at your LBI home! I finally got into the pool today!
  2. Oh Karen, I am so sorry. Not only that you have the kidney stone, but also that your DH wasn't home to both take you to Urgent Care, and then to drive back and forth in circles just to get your meds. I do hope you feel better quickly. (((hugs)))
  3. Our house here in NJ has white siding, which I always used Wet and Forget, but I could never reach the second story, unless I got on a ladder. This year the house needed a good cleaning in the front after having some work done, and I was going to go on a ladder to clean the house. I'm actually getting a little bit older now (can you imagine🤔) and when I saw the young man power washing the house across the street, we hired him to do the entire house. Our home back on Staten Island was over a hundred years old when we bought it back in 1975, and it had the original clapboard, which Jim and I painted every couple of years; and painted, and painted...washing a house is so much easier!!😉
  4. I also enjoy power washing, but was glad to give the job of washing the house to the young man this time around. I had power washed the concrete around out pool about two weeks ago, and still have the gate to the yard and back fence to wash. I also need to wash the pavers and get rid of the peaking weeds in between. Is it a big job to apply polymeric sand to the pavers, Debbie?
  5. It's Graduation time in our town! Last night was the 8th Grade Graduation from the town's Intermediate School, and this evening it is the High School Graduation. I love that we can hear the Pomp and Circumstance being played from our backyard. Last night I walked over to watch the Graduates, but also to hear the school band, since our youngest grandson William was playing for his school. Tonight, I just stayed in the yard and listened. Our grandson Jack is involved with directing the cameras for the Graduation, and Ryan is playing in the high school band. Next year, we'll be in the stands for both Graduations, since Jack will be graduating as a Senior, and William will be graduating as an 8th grader. Our oldest grandchild Chris will be graduating from Villanova.
  6. Jim said Wet and Forget is fine if you don't mind waiting a while. I always sprayed it, and then would go back and rinse it. $1k sure is a lot!!! My friend up the street told me she pays $500 for her house and pool shed, so I was prepared with a price in mind. I had the young man come over after he'd finished across the street to give me a price. I first asked what he would charge just to do the front and sides of the house, since the attached apartment is only one story., and the back of the house I could stand on a ladder and do that. He walked completely around the house and apartment and only charged $400 to do everything! They did a great job. Now I only have to power wash the gate and fence, as well as the patio pavers.
  7. We had the entire house, garage, and apartment power washed yesterday for the first time! I usually use "Wet and Forget" but could never reach the second floor and attic. I was planning on buying goggles (no more outside jobs without eye covering...week four still without eye makeup) and was planning on standing on a ladder to reach. As I went for my morning walk last week, I saw that my neighbor was having his house power washed. I went and talked to the young man and his assistant and asked for an estimate on my house. Four of them showed up with two trucks, and they had the entire job done in one hour. It looks great!! I'm so glad I went for my walk that day!!😉
  8. +1 He is so very handsome, and grown-up looking, Mark, with his beautiful dark hair! You and Susan sure have an enormous amount of such fun-filled events with all of your beautiful grandchildren!! It's got to be so hard who to pick to be your surrogate grandchildren, with Bob @bobmacliberty and Arzeena @Arzeena, vying for spots, along with so many others of us...😁
  9. @firefly333 Jane, it is so good to hear that the Saga with regard to receiving the money for your Texas home is finally over and done for you! Enjoy your new life!!
  10. Greg, you can also buy pierogies in the frozen food section and cook them in a little oil in a pan with onions. 😉 We then top them with sour cream once they're on our plate. So yummy!!
  11. I've begun watching informative videos on YouTube about London, and one person suggested getting on the double-decker bus #11, which will take you around Westminster, for just the price of a bus fare. Of course, there won't be any narrative, but if you've just arrived and want to get an idea where things are, you can't go wrong for the price.🤔
  12. @firefly333 It sounds like your new home fits you perfectly, Jane! Your view from your linai is amazing, you've joined the community swim aerobics, they have a great Library there for you to read to your hearts' content, and you are looking to join a Bridge game. You will be meeting so many wonderful people by joining in the activities. I bet there's even more for you there. They may have a Bocce Court ! You are close to the Cruise Port. It looks like you've hit the jackpot! Well deserved, well earned! Welcome to your new home!!!🥰
  13. @A&L_Ont You're not kidding about the heat being on, Andrew! Phew!! Our pool was opened this past Friday, and just in time! I plan on getting in it tomorrow!😉
  14. Thank you! Hopefully we'll get there early enough before the Tour buses arrive!😉
  15. Thank you! I do hope our friends are also interested in the Ceremony of the Keys, and that we will luck out in getting the tickets! I read that the tickets will be released at the beginning of August for our September visit.🤞
