I don't need an advocate. It doesn't cost anything to book direct. If small businesses want my business they have to offer something, not make special pleadings.
I'm fine using a TA if there is an advantage. So far, in the limited universe of US-based river cruising I haven't seen any tangible advantage to booking through a TA.
Going on the Empress in September. My TA is providing a $475 OBC or refund after the cruise for booking through her. :D

We fly September 17th, I'll let you know how it goes.

I booked a Jan 2020 Encore sailing when they 1st came out. The price of our infinity balcony cabin did not change with the Tax free sale so we just saved $325 on the cabin. I assumed the Encore would not be included or the price would be adjusted upward. Thanks NCL:D

I am absolutely flabbergasted that Windstar still has not released any 2019 dates for the Star Breeze, only has Star Pride cruises through March 2nd, 2019, and Star Legend cruises through April 2019.

I heard back from corporate. The confirmed the 5AM docking but indicated it will take time for the crew to tie off ect. They recommend a 11:30 or later flight but she added a note to our reservation and said to talk to guest services when we board so they are aware and they will work with us so that we can get off as early as possible. They will arrange for a taxi to be waiting for us to take us to the airport.
We're going to go for it. I'll report back after the trip to let you know if it was one of the dumbest things we ever tried or if we were successful.

I saw that on the website. The confirmation I received indicated we arrived at Vancouver at 5AM. It looks like the airport is 15 minutes away. To be comfortable I'd have to be off the ship by 7, 7:30 at the latest.
I'm hoping someone that's been on this cruise can remember when they we're allowed to disembark
I've emailed corporate and asked the question but I don't always trust their info. When I hear back I'll post it

Hello
I'm looking at a 9:25 AM flight home from Portland after the cruise. What time does the Empress arrive in Portland? How soon can I get off the ship? How far is Portland airport from where we dock?
Thanks

Do any of you Windstar experts know when they will release the rest of there 2019 schedule?
Thanks

We were looking at some non-WS tours in the Caribbean and I was wondering if we have a reasonable chance of meeting their start times.
In one case for Grenada the boat is scheduled to dock at 8 am and pickup would be 9 am at the pier. That sounds doable to me but I guess I should check on what happens if we are late (do they refund, wait or neither?)
In the other case, the boat is scheduled to anchor in Anse Mitan at 1 and we'd be trying to meet at the cruise port in Fort de France by 1:30-- anyone have a sense of whether that is too ambitious under the best of circumstances (and how likely the best of circumstances are?)
Thanks
WS tenders into Anse Mitan which is across the bay from Fort de France. You would need to catch the ferry from Anse Mitan to Fort de France. No way could you be there by 1:30

I just added the drink package to my September Empress cruise and it was $399 for the cabin not per person.Covers drinks up to $12.

When I contacted them a few months ago they indicated the drink package was $399 per stateroom not per person

Our Jan 20th cruise on the Pride now includes Vieques as well. Anyone have information on beaches on Vieques? Not much info on the port of call boards. Does anyone know where on this island the ship will port?

Our January 2018 cruise was also chartered and we were very pleased with how Windstar handled the situation. They offered to move us to the next cruise which was more expensive and cover up to $500 PP in airline change fees. We had not yet booked air but had booked 3 night lodging before the cruise. The lodging could be cancelled with no penalty's but the 3 nights for the next week was $400 more. The sent me a check for the difference and we are now looking forward to our 1st Windstar cruise one week later than originally planned.
I also had a $200 referral OBC and a $80 price drop OBC that they not only transferred but also rounding from $280 to $300. The free beverage package we had from the original booking transferred as well.

Hello, Does the beverage package work on Great Stirrup Cay? Thanks

I am going to book a cruise on the Empress and want a cabin in a quiet area. Any suggestions or rooms to avoid?
Thanks!
I've not yet cruised on the Empress but I've read that the Paddlewheel Lounge on the back of deck 2 can get noisy at night so you might want to look to the center or forward sections of the boat

Great! Thanks for the information. We are looking forward to cruising on the Empress

I'm booked on the Empress in cabin 321 which has the elevators right next to it. Has anyone stayed in or near this cabin. If so, is noise from the elevators a problem. Thanks

Does anyone know the cost of the all inclusive drink package option?
Thanks

Just so I understand, you can buy these gift cards with your sign & sail card to use up OBC?

Does anyone know the order of the MDR menus? We have the 4 SDP and want to reserve those on the days we don't care for the MDR menu. Thanks

April 22, 2017 Ruby cruise cancelled as well. $15 OBC offered

On the Escape it looks like most balcony's look down on the Waterfront and life boats. From the pictures it looks like the Balcony's toward the front of the ship may have a clear view of the water when looking straight down. Can anyone confirm if that is, indeed, the case?
Thanks

Just saved $90 PP on a casino rate. How do you know if you get fun chips or any other casino perks. Thanks

We're booked on a 2 week Alaskan land/cruise. I assume the OBC is based only on the 7 day cruise portion of the trip. Is that correct?
