I can’t seem to find any information about how late the restaurants are open at night, specifically Umi Uma. We have an excursion that arrives back to the ship fairly late and not sure what the dining options are other than room service?

Is it a Crystal excursion? If so, I'd expect there to be some arrangement for dinner for you all if you arrive back post dining hours.

Dinner start and end times are dependent in part on the number of guests so have not been the same from one cruise to the next when the numbers change. There have been a number of Reflections posted in various threads. Look on the back page for dining hours.

    Ter,

Have you been on the Serenity in the past several months?  You seem to be the dancing maven!

No, I haven’t. I’m a Symphony person. That said, I will be on Serenity late June for San Diego to 2nd Vancouver. Celebrations: two birthday parties and a retirement party.

If you currently have 10 milestones than under the old program it was impossible for you to have used the one category upgrade.  You are only eligible at the end of the voyage meaning it could be used on voyage 11 only so if that is the case I would have your TA mention this.  If you have already completed 11 cruises then you cannot claim the 10th milestone sine NC has no way of knowing whether you had used it. Now if you have completed 10 I can't guarantee this is how Crystal will interpret this but if it was me I would've the TA push on this since it would have been impossible to use the 10th for the upgrade until the 10th was completed and you booked your 11th.  I would certainly have them make this case.

But how does NC know that X didn't select Shipboard Credit on their 10th cruise with OC?

Are you sure? I don’t think k you are correct

I may be wrong but I believe milestones are earnt once you sail - not once you book the cruise

If they haven’t sailed on new Crystal then they cannot have any milestone award sitting to be used. The only awards available are those that to lover by earning a credit on new Crystal. Yes the historic number on old Crystal will contribute to the level of milestone that will be earnt but sadly any milestones earnt on old Crystal are lost and cannot be claimed

I think Stickman is right. I recall getting my SBC while onboard on the Milestone cruise, not having to wait for a subsequent cruise to cash it in. Thus, NC has no way of knowing whether OC had honored ClefsDor’s 10th Milestone.

The part about having not sailed NC yet I think relates to one having to earn new Milestones- if one hasn’t sailed yet, one can’t have earned any.

I have a text message that a "TA verified that guests with over 50 milestone points get unlimited free speicalty restaurants if available."

    We haven't tested this yet.

    Yes, we’ve tested. It’s correct.

How did you do this? When I log in, It only allows me to select and reserve the two specialty restaurants. Tastes is listed as open seating. I can not find where it allows me to reserve Tastes which we would like to do.

Interesting. I just tried it. Serenity lists Tastes as reservable; Symphony does not. Is this a website error or deliberate?

    Vince, thank you for menus.

The Tastes menu and hours have changed. The Dinner is too late, from 7-9 pm, which is my ballroom dancing time. The Taste dinner at OC used to start at 6 pm or 5:30 pm.

    Disappointing :(.

The hours vary depending on the guest count. The more guests, the earlier the start of dining.  The dance hours are generally a set before dinner. A set after dinner, pre-show, and more dancing after the show.

Thanks Tracey. Glad to see the naff costumes have finally gone. How did the churrascaria buffet work, bearing in mind the usual red/green disk concept ? Great to have such an increased variety of offerings.

    Sorry, I missed this.

No red/green; you just make as many trips to the buffet as you wish. Seemed to work just fine.

They don't show up on line in My Account nor on the cruise invoice.

You or TA can confirm number on the phone with Crystal or on-board with one of the two personnel who handle the loyalty program and book new cruises.

    Keith

If you have OC documentation that shows your number of cruises, I recommend bringing it with you. Some database errors have taken nearly 6 months to straighten out even when shipboard personnel knew the numbers were wrong.

I find the one level upgrade less than attractive. It discriminates against Sapphire travelers as we cannot get free upgrade to PH. So we are getting zip for all our loyalty.
And  the $5000 credit at 25 and 50?  Guess what!?  Your cruises on OC don’t count.

Where does it say, they don’t count? That’s not what I was previously unofficially led to believe.

You could book 1 less than Sapphire and apply the upgrade. If one books solo and upgrades, I assume it’s to a double window room. Just a better location but essentially same room. That’s not attractive. Would have to pay for a double in order to get a worthwhile upgrade.

We will be cruising on 3 cruises BTB on the Serenity starting May 5.  This will be our first cruise on new Crystal after cruising more than 250 nights on the old Crystal.  I just saw the dress code for the entire 3 segments (each one 11-12 nights) and they all say “Resort Casual”.  Seems like that is an error since we have multiple days at sea on each segment and it is the revised end of the World Cruise.  I don’t want to pack incorrectly but in a quandary as to what is the correct dress code.  Anyone have any insight?

That makes no sense at all. I suggest you email Crystal and question it.

Thanks, Keith.  That's good to know.

When I look at my upcoming Serenity cruise, which is 15 days (actually, it's a B2B, 8 days and 7 days), every day is listed as "Resort Casual."  I thought that there would be one formal night on the 8 day segment, right?  Does that mean I won't have to starch and press my cummerbund?

When I look at it, June 25 shows as formal.

We just returned from 68 days in Symphony with admittedly low bookings and we had no trouble getting into any specialty restaurant. Our butler checked with us around 5 pm and made reservation. We were in Sapphire.

While some were rather low, HK to Singapore was 470. It made a difference.

If one does an open booking on-board it is $1,000 per booking and good for three months rather than six months and the amount is higher than it was in the past. It is fully refundable as it was in the past.

It's $500 per person, thus $1000 per couple.
