@missy2662, did you take a whale tour? We are interested in one in JAN 22, and have just started looking.
Any luck finding a tour for Jan?
This is what I found out
Hackshaws is not running group tours
Mystic Man no repsonse
Exodus only private charters
Captain Mike not available that day

Can you tell what Google FI is? Would you recommend that over ship wifi? If so is it better to purchase the internet package prior to boarding? Thank you for all the info and beautiful photos. Enjoy

I would wonder who you booked this excursion through?? The ship?? Directly from Blue Water Safaris?? An independent operator?? This is not how Blue Ware operates!
We booked this excursion directly through their website. And then contacted them to confirm everything and make payments via email.

Wow. Thx for the info. Probably would have been cheaper to take ferry from port zante. What beach bar did you end up at?

Unfortunately they did not give us a name of what beach we were at. There was a small bar, restaurant there.

I am not one to give a negative review but after 25 cruises this is my first.....
We have used Blue Water Safari through the cruise ship excursions last year and had a fabulous time on the catamaran trip.
We were on this tour , (2/5//18) and were disappointed from the beginning. Nevis Beach Getaway
The meeting place was easy to find and there was a representative from Blue Safari that took our tickets, and that was the last we saw of anyone from Blue Safari.
As we were moved over to get on a water taxi, it was brought up that we were to be on a catamaran and was told that Blue Safari overbooked. We were not given an option to get our money back, just that they were overbooked and this is what we were to get.
We took the Public water taxi over to Nevis and had no idea from there what to do, We were not left at a beach, but left at the water taxi dock. Finally, we were told to get into a Taxi. We were not even sure where we were going. We got into a taxi and then brought to a beach.
Again, no further instructions other then be ready by 3:30pm.
The beach was far from what was described on the website description...
" With mile after mile of superb white sand and a beguiling array of options for eating and drinking, Pinney's is not only recognized as one of the finest beaches in the Leeward chain of islands, it's one of best in the entire Caribbean."
The beach was a dirt beach, there was broken glass, debris and condoms.
The water was murky, not the beautiful water as described. This was by far the worst beach we have ever been to in our 25 Caribbean cruises.
We were not given even a drink as described.
We were abandon there for 4 hours, in down pours and thunder storms. We were not given any contact info.
We were concerned we would make it back to the port in time to get our ship. We had to ask to people at the bar to see if they could reach out to the cab company that left us here, if they knew anything about us getting picked up. There we no other public water taxis going back to the island of St Kitts that day. Finally, there was a power boat that pulled up, at 3:45 pm. we had to get into the water and then climb up on the boat. There was a women there who had a very difficult time getting onto the power boat. Again, not the smooth ride on a catamaran that we were promised in the description on the website.
We paid $98 up front prior to getting to St Kitts, and did not get what we were promised.
We emailed Blue Waters Safari 2/10/18 - they responded quickly with " we hired a subcontractor for this tour who then hired another contractor without our knowledge and hence the reason for the misinformation." "In regards to Pinney's beach, it is one of the best beaches on the island and is known for having clear waters and white sand, we have been experiencing some very windy conditions lately and that may be the reason for the poor visibility and bad water conditions, We do apologize again for the unpleasant experience." I am not sure how windy weather would turn white sand beaches into black dirt?????
I would not recommend this tour company, we were very disappointed with their response to our email, they took no responsibility or action to correct it. We gave them a chance to right a wrong. We will never use them again. First time in 25 cruises that we had any issue with any excursions.

Did anyone try to book a future Cruise on the anthem ship? I was told there's a policy change and their deposits are now non-refundable. And also if you make a change it's $100 per person penalty?
-
Looking forward to reading RADIO's thread.

hi! Lance replied to my FB message that sun beds are $9 per bed (2 people per bed) if you're dining at their restaurant. Hope that helps!
Are we able to go there and rent beds, and not go to the restaurant?

I would not expect that menu to be on Anthem, as I believe Anthem has a Cafe Promenade, not a Cafe Latte-Tudes.
Bummer, I wished it was on the menu. Thank you, I am sure there will be so many other awesome things to drink and do.....:)
-
Although I didn't order them, chai lattes were available on the Jewel last month at Cafe Lattetudes.

Thank You!

Typical Cafe-LatteTudes menu:
Thank you for this menu, we will be on the Anthem next month.
I am planning on getting the $31 coffee card. Do you know if this menu also on the Anthem? Would love to have Chai Lattes. Thank you so much

I just got an email from RCCL on my upcoming cruise on Anthem next month- pushing their beverage packages. One of the choices was a coffee card for 15 espresso based coffees. When I tried to buy it - it wasn't listed on the cruise planner.
Sounds like we will be getting a coffeecard.
No idea on price.
Tami
We will be going on the Anthem next month, I see that we can get the coffee card for $31, can you tell me if they have chai latte and is it part of the coffee card? thanks

how crowded was it there?

If you want a cheap day, just head to The Boatyard ($20pp), which includes a chair and umbrella and a welcome drink AND it also INCLUDES a boat ride out to the turtles to swim with them. We had an amazing day there.
A full review is located HERE and there's TONS of pictures. :)
Hi, That is an amazing review on Barbados, just one question. How much was the taxi to and from the BoatYard? I think we will be doing this in Jan. Again Thanks, sounds like an awesome place and a great price.

We are looking to book a cruise for next year on the Anthem of the Seas. A balcony cabin. Any suggestions of what is the best and the worst? Thank You!

You are welcome.
I took 3 years of French in high school (40 years ago) but with the little that I did recall, it was still quite intimidating. Asking in French if they spoke English benefitted me I believe.
The first thing I did was get Euros. Dollars are accepted on the ferries to the beaches. I took the ferry to the beach, it was an over cast day and eventually did rain while at the beach. I attempted to walk to another beach but with more rain and not knowing where I was going, I walked back and went to the ferry dock to return to the main island.
I could read the ferry sign and I had just missed the scheduled ferry by 15-20 minutes...though I never saw a ferry approaching where I was. The next ferry was at 1 pm, a 50 minute wait. At 12:15 the ferry showed, the 11:50 am ferry!
I walked downtown, very doable from the cruise ship pier. I only wanted to use the euros I had left, bought a t shirt, I did not go into any other store.
More rain, so I went to the library to use their free internet and contact home.
It was a Saturday, all stores closed at 2 pm!
Thank you for this information, we are going next week on NCL and I was wondering what beach you went to and if there we bathrooms, chairs and umbrellas available. How much was the ferry and would we be able to read the times, we only know English. Thanks,

I am considering re booking and getting a guarantee mini suite, but concerned about the location on the Breakaway. Deck 8 looks to be forward. Has anyone ever had a cabin so far forward and would you recommend this for a 14 day?
-
Those restaurants currently have cover charges, but by the time you sail, they will be á la carte pricing. Those prices haven't been revealed yet, but will be on the Escape at the end of this month. Check back then.
Thank you, guessing maybe the dinner package maybe the way to go. Hope that you enjoy you time on the Escape.

We are going on the Breakaway in Feb.
Does anyone know the price to go to Cagneys and LeBistro.
Trying to see if it would be better to buy a package for 3-5 nights or just wing it and go when we want. Thank you
-
This is amazing, thank you!!

March 2014 we stayed in a family oceanview on deck 5, midship. It was quite roomy and had no noise. My husband slept better than he's ever had.
We are looking to book on the Breakaway as well and wanted the oceanview, but my concern was the same. Deck 5 looks as though it could be loud, being below the restaurant, comedy club and atrium. Can you tell me what room you had that was quiet. I would like to try that. DH likes a quiet room
Many thanks

I am looking into booking on the Breakaway, and was informed that there is a charge for the shows? Is this true? I just got off of the Gem and they did not charge for the shows. Just wondering, thanks

You should be fine. I believe she is suppose to go in next year? There's a running dry dock thread somewhere. Deck 9 is nice, as long as you don't take the port center hump js. The suite as above has marble floors and a baby grand.
thanks JBert!
