I'm trying to get our one-way return flight from Seattle and was wondering if a 9:30 am departure is too early? I am Platinum so we can get off the ship early, but am well aware of everything that can go wrong. I hate having to wait until 6 pm to head home. Just wondering about others' experiences.

We're looking for recommendations for a one-night stay in Miami prior to our cruise next April-May. I haven't been to Miami for about 40 years since I always go through Fort Lauderdale. I usually stay at a Holiday Inn Express due to their rewards program and that would be my preference. I'm looking for one with an airport shuttle, restaurant, and bar. Good reviews don't hurt, either. Thanks!

Nothing to do with etiquette. It's basic common sense, which is sadly lacking these days.

They will give you a paper menu, if you ask. Your son is right--Carnival is the best!

You can only use the havana pool if you book a havana cabin. This is controlled by wrist bands and attendants who work in the area. Most are balconies but there are a few inside, sure they go quickly.
You also have access if you are in a Grand Suite.

Of course they are allowed. Your shoulders and knees should be covered, but saw a number of women who didn't do that.

I've dived at Puerto Vallarta for the last 12 years. The last couple of years it got worse and worse, so I will not dive there again.

We got the payments on our credit cards refunded within days. I then went and got us booked on Panorama in May (paid with our 100% FCC), and Miracle in March 2025 for a 15-day Panama Canal cruise. Our refund was applied to that, but we still owe about $4,000. More days, and in a Grand Suite on both cruises.

We were booked on the November 18th cruise, so we get the full refund plus 100 percent FCC. We've already rebooked the Panorama for next April (same cruise minus La Paz) and a Panama Canal cruise in March 2025. We kept the Grand Suite for both cruises since the cost is pretty much covered. We were supposed to get the credit today, but nothing yet. We were driving to Long Beach so no airline refund difficulties.

Yes, it has.

Clearly you never participated in the Pax v's Officers Baggo or Liars Club.
Those have not been offered on this cruise.

Lack of all of that is the big reason I travel with Viking.
Let me rephrase. There are NO fun activities on Viking. Boring......

We went to Pisa on Friday afternoon - it poured - not Viking's fault but my point was that on a previous Viking included tour to Pisa we were taken inside both the Duomo and the Baptistry by the Trumpy Tours guide. This time we were only walked around the outside. That is a significant decline in the tour.
The main jets in the spa pool were working but the two additional ones to the left and right were not. No bid deal but it shows a lack of attention. After my first spa visit the two showers in the changing rooms had no shampoo, conditioner or body wash in the containers. Waited for an attendant who had to go away and get big containers to refill them. Another guest was in a hurry to get out as she had a hair appointment so it was very frustrating for her. I do not remember any incidents like this previously as again it shows lack of attention.
I do love Viking but not quite as much as I did.
We were in Pisa on Thursday, better weather. No interest in going inside either building since this was my third time here. I've even climbed the bell tower in the past. I never use the showers in the changing room, prefer my own room. In fact, I never have a need to use the changing room. But, there should be supplies there for the guests who want to use them. I prefer my own products. This is my first time on Viking. We have another one next year on the southern Nile. I'd rather be on Carnival where there are so many more fun activities. I would kill for some karaoke!

I cruise for the ports and dive at every port. Wouldn't think of staying on the ship and missing out.

I'm on that cruise right now, going the whole distance to Istanbul. I agree with most of which was said. After our second night in The Restaurant where they brought both of us the wrong dinners and it took forever, I said no more. We are thoroughly enjoying the World Cafe. As for Pisa, it was only sprinkling at times for us and very pleasant. The cloudiness only added to the scene. The thermal pool is wonderful and not finding any problem getting enough bubbles. LOL
Unfortunately, we also missed Crotone today due to strong winds. That was a major disappointment for me since I am a professional archaeologist and wanted to see the Archaeological Museum there. Next stop is Bari and it doesn't sound too thrilling.

Very easy, we do it all the time.

Just go to the Carnival website, log in, and go to your cruise. The digital card has the id number and PIN and you enter those. Very easy, in fact I just did it an hour ago for $1,000.

I had to open my door to hear what was being said about tender debarkation at one port. I knew they were saying something, it just wasn't loud enough to actually hear
We do that, too, if we want to hear them. They don't bother us because otherwise we never hear them.

Carnival folks really don't have any room to talk. Try sleeping past 9am through all the CD announcements. Try finding anything to do except drink or gamble after 11pm. Try finding food after 10 or 11pm.
Hey! I'm all over the Carnival deals and we really enjoy ourselves, but they keep nursing home hours.
How do you hear the announcements in your cabin? We never do.

I have a question about the Viking Air service. I always have arranged for my own flights all over the world. In 2019, I set up 11 separate flights for a round-the-world adventure and had no problems. My friend and I are doing a Mediterranean ocean cruise in September-October. I have read reports of other people having problems with their flights and am concerned. What are the benefits to having Viking arrange our flights, and more importantly, what are the disadvantages?

I was a judge once, and the winner was not the one with the hairiest chest. He had the most personality and was very entertaining!

I'm sure your camera rig isn't as big as a kayak.
You haven't seen it. I'm not talking a GoPro.
Does this disturbing new trend bother anyone else?

We never go to the production shows. We do karaoke and wouldn't mind a passenger talent show, but no a comedy show.
