  1. My husband and I just have done the Amsterdam to Budapest cruise on Emerald Star in September. I have lots of photos if there is any specific point of interest for anyone so can post. We thoroughly enjoyed our cruise, the food, the ship and the crew. If anyone has any questions please ask away.

  2. Hi all we are back from our river cruise on board Emerald Star. We had a wonderful time and can thoroughly recommend it. The dress code is informal and very relaxed. I took some black palazzo pants and wore different tops each night glammed up with jewellery on captains cocktail night. I have written a blog but unfortunately it is on another site but I am happy to answer any questions about the ship or cruise.

  3. Hi we are going on our first European river cruise with Emerald Waterways (Cologne to Budapest) in a few weeks and wonder if anyone can help me with the dress code. Normal dress will be informal but do not know what is expected on Captain's gala night. Will it be smart or formal? Grateful for any advice - thanks.

  4. I booked our cruise on Equinox for 2nd October 2014 on 28th February 2014. After careful consideration we chose the classic drink package as one of our options on the 123 promotion and I printed out the list as on Celebrity UK's website, scanned it and this is it. From what I am hearing this has changed considerably.

  5. We will be cruising with Celebrity for the first time in October. We picked this cruise as we thought that Celebrity was a more upmarket cruise line, a line we had always espired to. Normally we would book closer to the cruise date but the 123 promo convinced us to book much earlier. We were delighted with what was shown as included in the Classic drinks package so picked that over OBC as it would mean we could relax and not worry about the cost. We are dismayed and disappointed with Celebrity's behaviour and will, no doubt, find something to drink but it does tarnish the expected experience. This cruise was to be a taster for our 10th wedding anniversary next year as we had a Celebrity Caribbean cruise in mind for a renewal of vows but now we are not so sure. No matter how you dress it up re business economics etc., they have moved the goal posts and if we could cancel with no penalty we (well I would, not sure of hubby) seriously consider it.

  6. As Brits, we would just like the same offers as US, e.g. RCI's buy one get 2nd 50% offer doesn't apply to us! Not only that, Celebrity and RCI (plus other cruise lines) wont let us book through US TA or even access their US websites so we can't check the offers or dropped rates.

  7. No we haven't booked our cruise yet as it is over 16 months away and we haven't decided which itinerary to go for and therefore which ship. Drew likes to wait for the deals! We are leaning towards P&O as they do 14 night cruises from Barbados so avoiding the couple of days cruising south from Miami/Fort Lauderdale. However, our honeymoon and also our 1st cruise was to Eastern Caribbean from Miami, so we don't know if to replicate that. I keep changing my mind.

Monsoon have a website www.monsoon.co.uk and they offer worldwide free delivery on orders over £75 (about $126). Their styles seem to be quite simple (and I think, elegant) either plain or beaded.

Also Ebay have past design monsoon wedding/formal dresses for sale both new and used at a fraction of the cost.

I've just taken a photo of my monsoon dress, so will put the photo up soon.

Wishing all May renewal ladies the very best for a wonderful day.

  8. Beautiful dress CarpeFNDiem.

As ours is an 'unofficial' beach vow renewal, I have bought a white swimsuit and will be wearing a saress style white dress which I will embelish with beads and my beaded footless flip-flops for the beach. I have also bought an oyster coloured devore dress from Monsoon for the evening. I am getting a blue saress for my 'unofficial' bridesmaid and again I'll embelish it to co-ordinate with mine. When I've completed them, I'll post some photos.

Please post photos of your dresses where appropriate, just love looking at what everyone is planning.

  9. Congratulations BAV2005 on your renewal plans, it is our 10th wedding anniverary too on 9th June 2015 but we will be renewing our vows later in Oct/Nov in the Caribbean (not booked yet). We, too, will be an unofficial vow renewal hopefully on a beach and originally would have been just the two of us but our best friends have asked to join us and as they were at the wedding it is especially lovely. We had our honeymoon and first cruise in the Eastern Caribbean so are undecided if to repeat that or go to the Southern Caribbean and see some more of that area like Aruba and Curcacao and we did like Barbados.

  10. We went to Nachi Cocom, an all-inclusive beach resort, a few years ago and really enjoyed ourselves. It was $49 pp but I think that it is now about $55. They limit the no of guests to 100 so it's best to reserve on-line. There is also Mr Sanchos in Cozumel which I've heard good reports about.

  11. Met up with my old friend Pat and she has asked can she and her hubbie join us in the Caribbean for our Vow Renewal. Was so excited and pleased as I thought it would just be me and Drew, which was fine, but it will be so much more exciting having our close friends there to share it!

  12. Hi LaraTiara, welcome to the thread and hope you find it useful. We're planning our vow renewal for our 10th wedding anniversary, hopefully on a beach in Carribean next year (most probably Oct/Nov 2015). Looking forward to hearing about yours.

Hi BearHaven01 hope your vow renewal for your 10th anniversary went well. Please let us know all about it.
