I would talk to your pediatrician about the antibiotics.  When my kids were small and prone to ear infections, I was given some to keep on hand for camping.  They were powdered and you added water to form the liquid so they didn't need refrigeration. Couldn't hurt to ask.

That was a good suggestion, I suffer from gout and I keep antibiotics on hand since I never know when a flair up might happen and was wondering if that could also be done for her child.

  2. First I want to say congratulations on 35 years and not only marriage, a friendship that is so obvious in this post. I got chills just reading. Second, thanks for all the great information, especially about the Indian dishes because I am also a great lover of curry and all the other spices in Indian dishes and it is nice to know they will add meat. I will be on Liberty November 14 and am so looking forward to my first cruise back since 2019.

done 3,4,5,6,7, and 8 cruises on CCL

7day out of SJU was more of a party ship than a 3 day out of LGB

mid week cruise will be less pf party than weekend cruise

If you havnt been to Key West, great port

Cozumel there is a mexican restaurant at the port called Panchos really good food

Right now i will do any cruise 😁

I'm with you on the right now part. I really miss cruising but plan to start out on a 3-4 day as opposed to a 7 day just to get a fill for things and then next year go 7. I have been looking at a 3 day on MSC that is reasonable out of Miami for the time slot I am looking at but have some concerns about if I would enjoy the ship. I did the Barcelona cruise on MSC and was not happy with the food or pretty much anything else. I was totally not prepared for it being sooo European which did not make for a good experience for me so I am concerned about all MSC ships at this point. I am happy with Carnival as my second choice (love Holland) so I have booked a Carnival out of Miami for October.

For our Carnival Alaska cruise in August, just got our cruise refund. But DID NOT get our Carnival excursion refund!

See this is something I don't understand how is someone whose cruise was in August getting a refund before someone whose cruise was in May. Our group is still waiting, 5 of the 11 cabins cancelled on March 17 and I still have a couple of people who don't have their refunds from that cancellation which is 90 days today so I have called the agent to check it out since Carnival will not answer any questions directly for me. The other 6 cabins got cancelled on April 1 and still no money. I think if you have a group the refunds should come to the entire group at the same time because we all paid our deposits and final payments together. I have been patient but people are calling me because I am the group leader and most of the money got paid out of my account.

Booked a cruise on the Breeze with a cruise agent back in the fall.  Final payment date is Sunday and the agent isn't answering email or calls.  Will Carnival let me drop the agent from the booking?

I had the same experience, however, I have dealt with my agent for 11 years and knew he always returned calls and emails timely. Unfortunately he had been let go by the company and because I knew he was on FB I was able to locate him and read that he had been let go. I was upset with the agency because while I understood he no longer had access to his clients, as we were a group booking, someone should have been assigned to take over his clients. That has since been rectified but it should never have caused me a days worry. I hope you get a resolution to your concerns.

Finally received a full refund this morning after 49 days for our cruise that was scheduled to leave this Saturday, 5/23.  I am done with Carnival.

Really have you read the post on here, I don't generally get annoyed by the post and if I do I keep it to myself because that is not my thing but you got your money back in 45 days for a 5/23 cruise and there are people who were scheduled in April who still have not received their refunds. We had 11 cabins for our 5/9 cruise and we are still waiting for 7 of those refunds. Please feel how you feel but you are one of the very blessed ones.

My guess (and it is absolutely a guess) is that they have a team assigned to each ship and they are processing the refunds by sailing date. Or you could be right, there isn't a method to their madness.

Nope not by Cruise date because we had 11 cabins and 5 of them cancelled in March and the 6 cancelled April 1 but have only gotten money back for 4 of the initial 5 and none for the 6 that cancelled April 1 so I believe it is by cancellation date or as most of us are thinking no rhyme or reason - lol.

  8. Just got off the phone with the fill in agent since my original booking agent is no longer with the company (hoping he will return). My problem was 5 out of our 11 cabins cancelled our May 9 cruise on March 17, I received the final payment back for 2 of those cabins on May 8, however, they were entitled to the full refund including their $500 deposit once carnival cancelled our cruise but I did not get that back and was told by a carnival agent the travel agent would have to call and ask for an override of that deposit because on March 17 the option was for the full refund of the final payment with the deposit going towards a FCC. He was able to put in for the deposit for those 5 cabins and now I will see how long it takes for the money to actually be deposited. As far as the other 6 cabins go it may be the end of the month as that was not requested until Carnival actually cancelled us and I did those on April 1. The agent was unable to check on those because they did not request those refunds, I did because at that time I was unable to reach my agent. I hope this helps someone.

Received part of my refund! Requested my refund March 18th for my June 27th cruise. The total for the cruise was 3200 or so. I received back $2200. I should be getting the rest back though because the email carnival sent notifying me of my cruise being cancelled said that if you cancelled your cruise after March 6th you should be getting a full refund. So I’ll probably call to confirm that. But yay for progress being made

If that remaining money was your deposit you will have to call them to have them manually override that deposit because at that time the deposits were being put towards a FCC only. That is what I was told by a carnival agent this morning.

I agree, I don't think they are refunding by cruise date, I think they are refunding by the date of the requested refund.

I believe this may be correct. We had 11 cabins booked and on March 17, 5 of those cabins requested a refund of their final deposit with the option at that time for the deposit to be put towards FCC which was the only option at that time, however, once carnival cancelled they were all entitled to a 100% refund. This morning on checking my account there was a deposit from carnival for 2 cabins in the amount of the final payment not the 100% which tells me they processed the original request that was made on March 17. I am still waiting on the final payment for one of those cabins as the other 2 paid their final payments with their own credit cards. So it has been 51 days since they requested a refund. The other 6 cabins requested the 100% refund when carnival officially cancelled us on April 1 so I am not expecting to see this money until the end of May at the earliest.

I just received my refund this morning.

    Cruise Date May 9th

Cancelled by Carnival on March 30th

    Rebooked on April 3rd.

I did take the obc and rebook the cruise for September but since the FFC was only for what the penalty would have been if I cancelled my cruise and my rebooked cruise was way cheaper they refunded the rest.

I also had a casino offer so I had to cancel and rebooked through the casino.

I also got my FTF and excursions refunded.

My refund went to an AMEX.

My cruise date was also May 9th for 11 cabins and 23 people total but we have not received anything back so maybe as someone said earlier money comes back faster on AMEX than on any of the other means of payment. All of the initial deposits per cabin came off my debit card and then there are additional payments totaling $16,000 so I am waiting for a lot of money to hit my account. I have made it clear to everyone it could take up to 90 days and do not contact me asking me about it, I will let you know when it hits my account. The problem is everyone's money will not hit at the same time as they will refund it per booking number but I was told by Carnival it might be better to wait until all the money has hit my account to start disbursing it,  don't have to do that as I will be able to tell from the amount whose money is whose, thank God.

The only thing that make sense is that they are batching refunds, so each employee receives X number of refunds to process. If one employee finishes a batch before another employee does then conceivably they would receive later sailings in their new batch. (Mary gets 100 March cases to process, Joe gets 100 March cases, Mary finishes hers and is given 100 April cases while Joe is still plugging away at his.) It is also possible that each group of employees is given a ship to process the refunds for, so the employees who are processing the Radiance sailings is faster than those processing the Liberty sailings.

Yes I believe as you say this is what is going on, I believe I posted a similar thing earlier but just not as elegantly as you put it - lol - we know all people don't work with the same ethics as others so i am still hopeful my group of 23 falls into the hands of a very hard working employee.

I just received a credit back to my credit card, today (5/7) for all my prepaid things on ship (massages and water for the room).  I cancelled on 3/30 (via website) and my sail date was 5/3.  Nothing on base fare or taxes yet.  Hopefully they won't reverse the credit like they did to someone else earlier in this thread.

Sucks to think that I should be on my 13 day Panama Canal cruise RIGHT NOW on the Legend.  Today we would have been in Limon, Costa Rica.  Probably just leaving the ship about now to go on some type of excursion, or maybe we would have decided to stay on board today (Limon didn't have a lot of things that i liked) and just got drunk at the pool.

I know how you feel, our cruise was leaving 5/9 for our 9 day Mother's Day cruise and  I would be putting the finishing touches on my packing so a little sad but happy we are safe. I am hoping to be able to take my annual birthday cruise in December but remain cautious for now and hopeful that things will be easier by that time. Bought a nice pastel dress to wear for mother's day and will still wear it right around the apartment building as we are still in shelter in place which is fine with me. I am hopeful that our money will start to come in as there were 23 of us and most of the charges are on my debit card but not really expecting anything until the end of May at the earliest. We made our final payment in February but  I was told they are refunding in cruise date order so we will see. I find it funny that when  log on to carnival they are still counting down the days to my cruise.

There cannot be any type of effective 'social distancing' on a cruise ship. It would be an impossible task, IMO.

This is true and sad,  was on a cruise were they had a guy whose only job was to advise people to use one of the many washing stations to wash their hands and we still watched people ignore him and just go right into the eating area, smh

  15. I am thinking as with any department they have delegated duties to various employees to help speed things along and keep people working. Having said that, remember all employees don't work the same so your refund information may be laying on the desk of an employee who may not work as diligently as another employee (being polite here) as I am an employed person who sees this all the time on my own job. It may be why some people for April are already seeing their refunds while some people for March still have not gotten theirs. I am hoping my refund for my group lands on the desk of a hard working employee like myself - lol.

Those that have already gotten a refund when was your cruise & when was refund asked for?  My cruise was May 24 & I asked for refund on March 9.  Still nothing.  Wonder if they are going by cruise date or refund request date.

I was told by a Carnival rep that they are processing according to cruise dates and at that time they were processing the March and April cruises only. My cruise was May 9 so I am not expecting to see anything until the end of May at the earliest.

My daughter is in labour and I don't know when I will be able to see them.  Right now I am waiting on my own testing results.  Don't believe I have it, but the two things have made for a not great day.  Another wonderful memory.  Standing at the top of El Morro in San Juan looking out over the crashing waves. It was so awesome, it almost took my breath away.

Congrats on the new grand baby and we are not claiming any illness for you.
