I am not a "Cheer leader" for any cruise line, but i can tell you that our first MSC cruise in Dec. was fantastic. We were on the Mera and the food was just as good, if not better, then any other company, and we cruised just about all the Main lines.
The crew were friendly, professional and hard working.
I been reading reviews on here (other sites too} for a long time. I learned to take most reviews with a grain of salt.
MSC was the perfect example of why you should just ignore the bad reviews and just GO!! I'm glad we decided to go. Now we have to wait till October to do it again. 😆

The app has a chat feature (it's like texting). You can text back and forth once you are both signed into the ship's Wi-Fi. You may have to add him (there is a "+" symbol to add recipients) when you first hit the chat button on the top right. To add him, you can enter his name and stateroom number or scan his QR code that's on his card or on his app. He has to accept your request. You can put your phone in airplane mode then turn on Wi-Fi.
Once added, just tap on his name and text like you normally would. He'll get the text a few seconds after you send it.
^^^^ THIS ^^^^
Also, i remember one of our cruise companions having to go to the photo shop for help on something.

We were on the Mera Dec. 2-9th, they did run out of ketchup one day. The story going around the ship is that a train derailment in NYC complicted efforts of re-stocking the ship of certain items. The derailment also caused a few passengers to miss embarktion and had to meet the ship at Port Canaveral. I dont think this will ever be an issue again.

This is about false positives, not false negatives.
Huh? I thought it was about drug sniffing dogs at embarking. My bad!!!

It's kind of funny reading some of these responses.
Some act like this is something new. People have been dodging them dogs for years. The dogs will never get all the carriers, not even close. Theres always a way if you want to take a chance, and many do take that chance, and are successful.

I don't think you will be getting into the Windjammer that early. The Cafe Promenade on the Royal Pronenade (deck 5) would be the place to go.
I thought the coffee station is always open in the WJ, no?

NO coffee pot, but the WJ would be the place to go that early. Enjoy!!

Not sure if you are using joke font or not, but this thread is about RC and cruising so this is an appropriate place for discussion. As for discreet, their CC names aren’t their real ones. Even though I don’t play cards I find this interesting, especially when compared to tipping threads. If your post was a joke please accept my apologies.Sorry, but this thread is about counting cards, I know lots of gamblers and they would never come to a public forum and admit they do this. Even though they dont know real names, why even put it to chance? Just sayin....

Not sure why someone would come on a public message board and openly admit they count cards. At least try and be a little discreet about it. 😃

I have the worst luck when it comes to charter fishing on the islands. I have had multiple trips booked and every time it was too windy to get out. Needless to say, i dont book charters anymore. It happened twice in Bermuda and twice in St. Maarten. May your husband have smooth seas!! 😃

I'm not sure, but, I think the dogs aren't just sniffing for drugs.
They may be sniffing out explosives too. Also, they might be after articles people might be using to "Save Chairs" on the pool deck!! Like excess amounts of flip-flops, books, sun visors....etc....😃

Seems like some strong opinions on cruise ship pizza.
It is kind of nuts that they are thinking of charging for that stuff. I think ships pizza is a step above Lil Ceasers pizza. 😁
Although i hear MSC has great pizza. 🍕

Since you asked....

My funny story about weed was I thought I ran over skunk because when I pulled in my garage, it smelled like one. But then it was there every day but not when I parked my car at work...I realized it was my nieghbour's kid, since our garage are attached.
Again, NEVER proven.
The article states "Apparently". Also, that was in 2006. That was an eternity ago. Safety standards have much improved since then. 👍
This has been discussed many many times on these boards.

This thread is funny.
When was the last time a cruise ship ever caught fire from smoking?
There was one instance on a ship (Forget which one) they thought was from a cigarette, but was never proven. I'm not saying there is no risk, but all the people concerned about a fire starting from smoking anything, is just paranoia. IMO
With more and more U.S. states legalizing weed, i think you will be smelling it more and more, even though its illegal. I dont condone it, just a fact of todays new world.

I am just wondering if they only use the machines when there is a certain amount of people, maybe over 3or4 players? I'm thinking if theres only 1or2 they will deal by hand? I kind of remember them doing this on certain tables. Fun21 may be different though.

Bacon is probably the most wasted breakfast meat on cruise ships and the reason Carnival went to bacon servers years ago.
I'm thinking it's the most "Wasted" because its the most requested. That means there will be a lot more wasted.

Funny, how on RCCL ships, There's plenty of bacon for your self serving in both the Windjammer and Solarium Bistro.
I thought all cruise lines were going through a bacon shortage?
Hmmm. Guess not 😃

It would be nice, but sadly, them days are over.
We are kind of early risers and would love to wake up to a nice pot of coffee in the cabin. But going up on deck for a cup isn't a problem. Always meet some other early risers and have someone to chat with.

Hope it works out for them. However, there are some serious gamblers that smoke and will NOT cruise/gamble if they wont be able to smoke, ecspecially USA cruises. Good Luck with that!!
