We will be on Getaway in August and we would love to have drinks and share appetizers (group of 6). Is it a charge per person for food or is it per menu item?

I see from pictures that there are chairs in each area, other than the single bed are there lounger type chairs for sunbathing?

Thanks JohninDC for the information. I have heard of luggage lounge at Miami Beach but is there something similar in Ft. Lauderdale? We have a day before the cruise and plan to explore Miami, so I think a Ft. Lauderdale beach is a better idea and we would be closer to the airport.

We are a group of 11 cruising out of Miami. When we return after the cruise, our flight doesn’t leave until 8:30pm out FLL. Any economical suggestions for the day? We could spend the day on the beach, but what about bags? Also, beach in Miami or FLL?

I would love to see these as well. Can anyone help us?

I think it is just terrible they have made so many changes to a brand new ship. Unfortunately, the people cruising while Escape transitions to the "new entertainment" will probably get whatever they can throw together:(

Holiday Inn POM rooms go for between $120 - $200 using the Friends and Family rate. Just Google "IHG Friend and Family" and print the voucher and look for the link to booking website. Avoid Spring break as the prices skyrocket to $300+ per night. The only downside is that you pay upfront and it's non-refundable, but the savings can be $40 - $50 a night.

Isn't an employee # required with this type of booking?

We are flying a couple of days early prior to our next cruise and staying at a hotel downtown. There are several sites we want to visit but do not want to rent a car (cost of hotel parking :eek:). We used Uber recently on a vacation in DC and we were very happy with their services. I have read in a few places that there is an issue with Uber in Florida. Is Uber still servicing Miami or should I look at cabs as needed?

I have tried researching the options (other than train) from West Palm to Miami. We are flying in the night before and are booked at the Holiday Inn/POM. I know we can rent and drive, but what is the closest car rental to our hotel? Any within walking distance? Also, if you have any other suggestions, I would be interested:)

My family has sailed both NCL and Royal - Diamond members with Royal. We sailed Independence 4/12/14 and it was the worst cruise we have EVER been on. I think of all their ships, this is by far the worst and their customer service regarding our issues was terrible. NCL has always met our expectations and beyond. Our next cruise is Getaway next April.

I am considering M6 on Getaway and notice it is above the theater. Anyone who has been in these cabins, was there an issue with noise? I am a light sleeper and I am concerned there maybe a problem with noise.

We were on Independence of the Seas 4/12 and had a horrible experience with the swim. The excursion was oversold and the ferry over was so crowded some people had to stand the entire trip. Also once we were in the water, our guide allowed many people to complete the 6 swim choices before my family had 1. Go for the encounter it sounds like a much better choice.
