We, 3 couples, have a cruise leaving 9/30/19 and just booked the Pan Pacific for 2 nights pre cruise @ $261 + tax, still under $300. Be patient and checked expedia almost everyday. Most days were $300-$400/nt and just all of a sudden, one day I checked and got lucky and booked 3 rooms, deluxe king harbor view at that price.

Wow that’s an awesome rate!  I kept my eye on several different travel sites and joined their member program and never saw a rate anywhere near that for The date I need in May.  After about a year of looking I saw a deal for a Canadian credit card that offered about $300 in free travel points for joining and charging a set amount in the first couple months so I applied for it, got it, paid final payment with it and got the Pan Pacific for $200 Pacific Club level.  I am pumped 🥳

Our cruise is one day after yours but we will be at Vancouver before you. After this winter in the mid west, May temperature there would not be an issue to us at all.

We will be on the Coral Princess also on May 8.  We are across the river from you, a couple hours away, and totally agree that with this winter Alaska in May will be wonderful :)  I have family near Vancouver and it is more often then not our summer-time weather there in May.

You may want to check on the train schedule if you are thinking of the Carcross train and bus. We don't usually offer that until mid May?

We have three shops open at this time, but around the end of April the other two thousand who do not really live here will start to arrive and by the first of may we will have over 150 shops open including the usual 40 odd jewelry stores who pretty much follow the cruise ships wherever they go, but only in season.

currently we have no jewelry store within one hundred miles of here!?!

welcome to our little town,  whenever you choose to visit.

Hmmm, Chilkoot Tours is showing it on their website for our date in early May - Yukon Rail and Bus Tour.  I had checked into your Bennett Lake tour as well but when I went to the WPYR site I noticed the train schedule is not available that far in advance but I never thought about how Chilkoot is offering it for booking already.  Guess I need to look into it more.

  4. Anyone know what approximate time the shops and restaurants are open until in early May?  Thought I read somewhere they have shortened hours early in the season.  Trying to decide on the short or long train/bus excursion but would also like some time to shop and maybe check out the Red Onion Saloon.

  5. I can tell you that the Fairmont Pacific Rim is the best hotel I have stayed at in Vancouver. I have probably stayed at many of the top hotels there and would put this above Fairmont Waterfront or Pan Pacific.

Sorry - don't have any deals.

Wow I just checked Pacific Rim and for $938.83 CND for one night I guess it should be exceptional!!!! Sorry but I would sleep on a park bench for a night before spending that kind of money for a bed to sleep in for one night! That is a quarter of our cruise fare:eek:

  6. Has anyone come across super deals for these properties at any time? I am Canadian and have a few employee perk programs but none of them bring the rates down under $500 per night (May 2019). I have also joined the hotel loyalty programs in order to receive special offers via email, of which I have received a few for properties other than in Vancouver. Would love to stay at one of these the night before the cruise. We have YWCA Hotel booked for a few nights after the cruise and will stay there the night before if I can't get one of these places for a price I can live with (<$350).

  7. Thanks to Martincath's various helpful posts, we've selected the Y for upcoming stay early September prior to boarding the Radiance to bring her home to Australia. Happy to post a comment after our stay if it's of any interest.

Please do. We are booked in a double/double with private bath for 2019. Martincath has provided some extremely valuable information on these boards and I have no doubt at all that the Y is a great place to stay, but I like to hear everyone's take on a place :) I'm also wondering if the double beds are actually double beds or are they queen?

  8. Mine isn't listed in the personaliser, but when I go to "print travel summary" it shows up there!

Thank you, mine shows up there as well.

These are the perks we received from this sale (in CND $)

    PREMIER BEVERAGE PACKAGE PROMOTION $603.61 x 2

    1 6X8 PHOTO OR PHOTO CREDIT-NO CASH $16.23

    *CRUISE NIGHT COUPON BOOKS $0.00 x 2

    COMPLIMENTARY GRATUITIES (SUITES) $101.50 x 2

    SPECIALTY RESTAURANT COVER CHARGE $36.25 x 2

  9. I was just filling in some of the forms on my Cruise Personalizer and in the Travel Documents sections it asks what document you will bring. The options are Enhanced Driver's License, Enhanced Non-Driver Identification, Fast Card, Nexus Card, Passport Book or Sentri Card and you can only choose one. I supposed that is just for clearance from the cruise line but you would think border agents, especially in border provinces/states would be very familiar with a Nexus card. I do have Nexus but only use it crossing the border on my weekly grocery shopping excursions or overnighting nearby but take my passport when actually travelling.

  10. I tried pricing an existing cruise online with this agency and didn’t see any mention of OBC or beverage package, just a coupon book. Price the same as what I have now, but deposit becomes non refundable.

Do I need to call or use the “request a quote” button to get the better offer?

You can try that or call them. The promo with the non-refundable deposit is not the same one as the free grats and drink package.

  11. I have not seen any mention of OBC. I rebooked using this agency, in Canada they actually have offices and not just online and call centre, mini-suite and we got drink package, grats, one specialty dinner, one photo on board and the coupon booklet and when I checked on my Cruise Planner there is also chocolate dipped strawberries from the TA [emoji4].

Anyone seeing the drink package listed on your cruise planner? Mine isn't, it is on my receipt though. I'm wondering if that will get added when Princess launches Sip and Sail. My receipt does say "promo combinable with Princess's Sip and Sale promotion".

  12. Nothing is free. Lots of packages of benefits means an increased price for the buyer to help defray those costs. They aren't giving away anything untimately.

As myself and others have stated the price for this promo is exactly the same as the price I had booked with a different agency which is also exactly the same as what is showing on the Princess website. I booked this cruise the same week it was released from Princess. So in reality I am getting all those perks for free since the price is exactly the same as when the sailing was originally released for booking.

  13. So, has anybody done this? Actually requested a quote? I'm hesitant to do it because I don't want a ton of phone calls! I booked my January cruise through Princess, but am thinking of contacting a local TA I have used in the past to see if she can do anything.

I have rebooked using this 3 day special. The price is exactly what I paid through a different TA and which is today listed on the Princess website when doing a mock booking. I am losing the $500 OBC that I had but getting free grats, drink package, one specialty dinner, one free photo and a coupon book supposedly worth a value of $750 which is prob of no benefit to us. So the inclusions, which we would have purchased anyway, are far greAter than $500.

  14. And the prices I'm seeing are nothing special at all, even with their promos included. I must be in the wrong place.

My Alaskan cruise for May 2019 is included. Same price as I currently had booked with a different TA using the Landmark sale but includes free drink package and free grats. Also includes reduced deposit and coupon booklet valued at $750. We will lose the $500 OBC from Landmark sale but will be substantial savings for us considering we were going to purchase the beverage package.
