  1. LOL!!!! You are too funny - I do wish I could be having a cup of coffee right now on the Allure with Chris - looks like a beautiful morning on board...

Oh, I wish I could be there too sittin' with you guys. Would have an OJ though as I am not a coffee drinker. Or have my smuggled Mountain Dew that I occasionally entertain in the morning as my morning pic me up. I know - Not good...

  2. Good morning friends! Well the pre cruise excitement is over.... welcome to day one of LIVE from Allure of the Seas! It's beautiful morning here in Fort Lauderdale and I'm off shortly for breakfast and more importantly, COFFEE!!!

From my balcony this morning. The sun is out bright today

So enjoying the ride and you aren't even on the ship yet. Sure wish I was going too.

Looks like you have some great friends to share this wonderful cruise! So happy the sun is out for you today!!

  3. Hi Chris: A little late to the party, oh but what a great party start. Love the pics and also feel like I have gained pounds from your food porn. Ummm Good!!! We usually stay at Embassy so Duffy's would be easy for us. Have seen it, but just haven't tried it yet. Looks like it will be next on the list.

Sure wish I was going along, but this live review will be the next best thing. Thanks so for taking the time to do this for us. Really appreciate it.

Have a great time! I will be watching your sail away as well all the others who are sailing this weekend from our Quayzies. :):D:)

  4. Looks like embassy is already booked for my date in January!

We have stayed twice at Embassy on 17th and both times have been great for us. Depending on which side your room is, you could possibly see the ship when she comes in in the morning. There is also a public balcony if you want to walk out to see her if your room is on the front or other side. There is a Manager's Reception in the evening with free drinks and snacks and a great buffet breakfast.

The Harbor Shops are right behind it in case you need to pick up any last minute items. There are also several restaurants within walking distance as well as a Stone Cold Creamery if interested. Gilbert's is a great lunch place in the Harbor Shops (it is a burger place, but has huge burgers made your way). Here is a link: http://www.theharborshops.com/

The Water Taxi is several blocks away; we walked (a nice walk) but you could also grab the trolley or a taxi. There were some beautiful vacation homes and yachts along the path of the Water Taxi as well as more restaurant choices and a stop by the mall. One price for a day ticket to get on and off as you like. Here is the link: http://www.watertaxi.com/watertaxi/fort-lauderdale/

We will definitely stay there again. Enjoy your trip!!!

  5. First time going on Explorer in March/April and first time cruising out of Port Liberty. Would appreciate some help with pre-cruise stay, park and shuttle or park at the port advice (we are about 5 hours away and plan to drive up to arrive at a hotel early afternoon to get in before the Friday rush hour). I have read through Trip Advisor and different threads on here and can't seem to get a majority ruling. Can any of you share your suggestions?

Is parking at the hotels safe or parking at the port safer? I am leaning toward staying at one of the airport hotels and just driving to the port to park. Thinking that after the cruise we would be able to hop in our car and be on the road, instead of having to wait on a shuttle to take us back to the hotel and then get on the road.

Thoughts and suggestions from your experiences are appreciated.:)
  6. The gang decided to surprised me by celebrating my belated Birthday which took place the Tuesday before we sailed :)

That's it for now my friends. I might be back on here later. If not, will definitely be tomorrow.

Thanks for tuning in everyone! :)

Happy belated Chris!!! What a way to celebrate your birthday - with friends on a cruise!! Sounds like you are having a great time. Beautiful pics, great food porn, good job all around! Thanks for taking us along for the ride!! Great way to pass the time until my next cruise.

  7.

Cafe de Paris on Las Olas is very good but also expensive. It might have just been last night Karen. I was just stunned at how spotty the service was. Very forgetful plus they wanted to argue about who ordered what or whether or not they ordered it plus they put everyone's meal on one bill and insisted that's how Ruth wanted it and got rather surly when we asked them to separate it

Chris thanks so much for taking the time for feedback in the middle of your busy review.

Hopefully it was just a rough evening. I'll have to see what our group wants to do. Maybe we will check out Cafe de Paris instead, but Bimini is so close and convenient for us. Your food porn at Cafe de Paris did look good. Will see.

Life got in the way and I missed your sail away, but so enjoyed everyone's posts on here with screen shots. Looks like you have a great cc group. Really making me even more excited for our cruise as I think our roll call group is one of the best I have experienced.

The ship pics look great. Might be a consideration for us in the future. We will see how the rest of your review goes......

Keep up the great work and ENJOY ENJOY ENJOY!!!!! :D:D:D

  8. Tonight we had a pre cruise get together at Bimini Boatyard. The food was ok but not as good as last time I was there. Plus the service was kind of iffy. Still, had a good time with friends from the roll call:

Oh Chris, were thinking of Bimini for our Pre-cruise on Lady O in a few weeks. Now wondering if we should consider something else. Your thoughts or suggestions.

Loving everything in this live review. Pics are great! So great that Gambee took the time to help out with the sensor issue. Thanks too Gambee from this follower.

By the way, have a GREAT cruise!!!!

  9. Thanks for posting! I never get tired of the sea color in and around the Port of Nassau.

Ps. That tour boat appears to be getting very close to those rocks.

YW Really enjoying all the pictures here and thought I would join in, but I am definitely an amateur.

Regarding your PS - We were on Oasis during the inaugural year when I snapped that one and I think she (Oasis) was intimidating the tour boat a little. Everyone on deck were making similar comments and waiting for something to happen. LOL:D
