  1. With 2 iPhones and two Apple Watches (and various other devices) I have settled on this set up for travel charging. I use two of each to provide super fast charging of our devices (up to 65w) which can be done just before bedtime or in the morning as we get ready so we are able to keep the devices next to us while sleeping and not having to worry about long charging times.
The angled adopters allow both chargers to be used on one outlet so the other outlet remains free for blow dryers and such.IMG_3242.thumb.jpeg.3fa0af53358092f2a3abda188b1eb384.jpeg

I'm curious if countries like the Philippines keep high enough quality records to do a useful background check.

Most, if not all of the youth club employees are from “western” countries so background checks are easier.

I just tried to book beverage package with OBC and it was still asking for credit card for payment. oBC was 250 and drink pack $97. Indicates that OBC was applied.

I find it tricky to use OBC sometimes. There is a box on the left that you enter the amount of OBC to use. You should hit enter afterwards. Just make sure you enter the total amount including gratuities or you will still need to enter a credit card.

We swung by the fitness center and yes, they have 5 peletons in the main area as well as several in a separate room. We asked the attendant about these and said that as long as there are no classes going on you can use them as well

Thank you!!!! My DW will be very happy and in turn my cruise will be much smoother!!!

  5. In your travels if you happen to pass the fitness center would it be possible to see if the Peleton bikes are still there? There has recently been a recall on some of the bike and I’m wondering if it’s affecting their availability.  Using the Peleton on board is the one thing my wife is looking forward to as she’s on her’s every day.

On a different note, does anyone know what these barrels are for? Or what’s inside them? They’re strapped to the side of the ship in front of the lifeboats. Just curious……

Those are large inflatable rafts. They are set up to automatically launch if the ship sinks to supplement the lifeboat capacity.

  7. I don’t know if I would open that Pandora’s box full time. The crew hardly enforces the lounge rule as it is. If they don’t enforce the hours they then leave it up to the guests to police the rules and that would cause even more issues. I would vote for leaving as it is.

That suggestion was never in the app when I used it.  I always did online check in on my computer and of course Celebrity gets your credit card number. I would not have to go to guest relations as they already have it. You don't have to add it to the app but I don't see any problem with adding it but I would not add it as they already have it.. The security risk is not the app, the security risk is Celebrity's IT which I don't trust much but if you book a cruise there is no choice but to give them your cc number. If you are really worried about that use a credit card that issues virtual numbers. I do that. Your phone certainly is more secure than Celebrity's IT. For sure if it is an iPhone which has encryption. Only state actors have ways to get in and they usually have to have the phone. Just use a good passcode and biometrics. Don't fall for scammers.

I believe it’s on the website also. I wasn’t being snarky, and if I came across like that I do apologize, I was only posting the information, but upon reading it again it did sound kind of snarky.

I would not count on a travel router solving this problem,  Chances are that you will not be able to see the WiFi signal from the travel router in the restaurant.

Oh, I didn’t realize that. I just figured that if the travel route was connected to the internet it would work like a regular router and allow two way data flow over the internet from connected devices. Oh well.

Why not connect the camera to the hotel's wifi?

While a travel router has several functions, the primary purpose of one on a cruise is to take one single Wi-Fi network and split it into multiple signals.  Since most hotels have good wifi and usually allow at least two devices (many have no device limits), I'm not sure how a wifi router would benefit you

Because the hotels I stay at require a sign in with a name and room number on a browser to active the internet connection, something you can’t do on a camera. To get around this I usually turn an iPad into a camera but I would love to use a PTZ camera instead.

Not on an iPhone.  If you use the wireless to connect to the ship's WiFi then it cannot be used as the hotspot at the same time.  I carry a travel router with me and connect it to the ship's WiFi and then connect the in room devices to my travel router.

A travel router would help me at hotels as I would like to setup a camera to watch my dogs while I go out to eat. The only question I have is can the travel router be set up with a iPhone or iPad or does it have to be a laptop running windows?

There are lots of ways .

I will use Steep Sacks by the Republic of Tea to hold the grounds. Put into the cup and add hot water.

They are made for tea but they work just as well for coffee.

Thank you. I always thought that water wasn’t hot enough to brew coffee. Glad I was wrong.

At current prices none of the current packages work for us, we just don't drink enough of anything to have them make sense. They used to have a classic non-alcoholic package that worked for us but that was eliminated.

We'll just pay as you go except I may bring some ground coffee with me as I personally hate the brewed coffee they have on board.  For us it is the worst coffee we have ever had on a cruise.

That of course a personal taste thing. You may find the brewed coffee OK.

This comment does not apply to the espresso based drinks. They have always been great and we are OK paying for those as we go.

This intrigues me, so if I may ask, how would you prepare coffee from grounds on the ship?

  14. We did a New Years cruise with our kids on Royal Caribbean years ago and it was the best cruise we ever took. There were parties all over the ship and everyone had a great time. We are booked again this year for New Years on Celebrity, I hope it lives up to our past experiences.
If you want to gift the crew, cash is the preferred option by far. Cabin decorations are always fun, but the lights might attract too much attention from mischievous individuals.

  15. My upgrade price for my December 23 cruise held at 18.99 for the entire year. It finally dropped down to 13.99 today. I call CC to cancel and reorder and asked about the CC 10% discount. He said it wasn’t available. I didn’t think it was a sale as it now said onboard price is 15.00 and 5% off made it 13.99, but he said the CC discount wasn’t available. 15.00 is much more inline with the difference between classic and premium packages anyway.
