  1. I have friends on Majesty this week (M-F). I had told them to avoid the weekend cruise because of the risk of something similar happening. First cruise and I wanted it to go well... looking for future cruise mates!

Is there a way to tell if Majesty was able to tender to CocoCay today? Wednesday Feb 11th? Tracker seemed to show ship in motion at 4PM. That suggested to me they were not able to tender??? Any way to tell...

  2. For those that have done the Majesty cruise lately...

What would be 'new' or 'improved' on the cruise?

We did basic tourist tour of Key West... train, Mile 0, Truman, etc?

In Nassau we did self tour of Atlantis but that would be something we would likely want to change for a redo... Absolute must for first time visit but not on our redo list. What other activities would be a good choice for 2nd visit to Nassau. Straw market was a bust. Senor Frogs not our speed. Not interested in dolphin or stingray swim. Other suggestions????

CocoCay would be a short visit then return to ship for us. At least one couple in the group would likely love CocoCay for its water activities. But the other couples would probably be happy with the mini visit.

  3. It has been nearly 5 years since we sailed on Majesty of the Seas for the 4 day Bahamas - Key West- CocoCay cruise. It was our first and so far only cruise. We enjoyed it and have often encouraged friends to take what we felt was the ideal 'beginner's cruise." The only thing missing was a day at sea.

Now some friends of ours have taken our advice and are organizing a group to take the same cruise. We are invited...

Here is our dilemna: Do we want to take the same cruise again? As cruises go I am sure it was one of the simplest. The ship was like a floating hotel with us waking up in a new port each morning. From my recent research it appears there have been no changes to the ship or the possible excursions. It really would be a redo. Should we politely decline and plan our own 'new' cruise... possibly Cozumel? Or should we bite the bullet and act as a tour guide for our friends? Unfortunately for us redoing the same experiences.

I am interested in what members have to say...

Waste of time to redo such a simple cruise?

Would we enjoy the cruise experience less redoing it?

Are there new things to do on CocoCay or Nassau?

Would we feel pressured 'leading' a cruise for friends???

We have nearly always traveled (be it stateside or Europe) as a couple where plans were our own and could be changed as we went along. I absolutely would have a travel agent handle all the bookings & money. No way do I want to be responsible for deadlines, etc.

Has anyone been in a similar spot???

Redo the same cruise with friends? Book a separate cruise for 2?

    Thanks.

  4. Lead by Cruise Director Ricky M

He seemed pretty serious about the "rules" and safety issues.

Aisles were kept clear... drinks kept away from the stage...

I did not compete although I did 'donate' clothing article to one team.

    BTW

Definitely wear dark boxer shorts or gym shorts under your clothes.

NEVER EVER WEAR A THONG.... guys or girls!

Funniest part was when CD asked for False Teeth...

You could have brought a person who had false teeth to the stage...

Instead a girl ran up holding wet false teeth from a spectator...

I started out taking pictures but quit are a short while.

The contestants were having TOO much fun...

It didn't seem right to embarass them.

    Bottomline:

While Quest sounds like a gross spring break activity...

It actually was a lot of fun and should be done at least once!

I'm glad other ships also do a Quest activity!

  5. Not with any of the ports but rather how different each poster viewed the port. I am sure the ports do in fact change. I suggest putting more stock in the posts from cruisers who have more recently visited the port. Two or three years is probably too long ago to be giving an accurate assessment.

In looking at cruise ports I also have started researching when or if Oasis will be in port. The sheer size of the Oasis must be difficult on other ships in port. Plus the ports certainly will have to 'modernize' to handle the crowds... for some ports that might be a GOOD thing. For other ports it could totally remove their charm and/or eventually doom them to only servicing the smaller ships.
