Just returned from Barbados and had the most incredible tour with Tyrone Griffith. It's worth contacting him and he will work with you on what you'd like to do and see while there. He charges $25/person and your beer, rum punch and water is included. Make sure you mention my name, Catherine (Team Catherine) and he'll take great care of you. You can't go wrong with him!!
We were in Barbados on Easter Sunday and toured with Tyrone..As this poster said he will take great care of you and provides a terrific tour for $25. His van is air conditioned, he is a great guide and I feel assured you will be happy if you tour with him. Tell him Bob F. mentioned this and you might say the man who witnessed the poor monkeys tail. Have a great cruise

On our 18-night 12/2/2012 Med/TA onboard Pacific Princess, the packages were available, but we too thought the selections were very limited. We brought several bottles onboard (in checked luggage) and bought more in several ports, which of course was very visible when we boarded the ship each night. No one ever said a word about it and we were not charged a corkage fee (we drank the wine in our cabin.) You can only drink the wine package wines in dining areas, not in the bars or anywhere else. If there's any leftover you can take it with you.
I personally prefer HAL's wine cards, which you can use anywhere. And if Princess ever does really limit carry-ons to one 750ml bottle pp, we'll be booking more HAL cruises and fewer Princess cruises. Their wine prices are ridiculous. One of my favorite reds is Robert Mondavi Private Selection Pinot Noir, which I can buy most anywhere for ~$11/bottle. It was $30/bottle on the Pacific.
I must admit to being totally confused. I am not a wine drinker..prefer my bourbon..but can't believe folks base a cruise,or cruise line, on their wine alowances. I take a cruise for the itinerary, the comfort of my cabin, and never consider the wine pkg. Am I in the minority?

Must admit..we are loyal and happy Princess cruisers. Noise?? We were on the HAL Noordam a year ago. The MDR is over the engine area, very noisy, but the rest of the ship..no noise..Everyone was sleeping wherever we went. If no noise is your interest..stick with HAL. It was the most quiet and boring cruise we have ever taken. We went back to Princess for the 14th time and will continue our cruising on Princess.

I am planning a slot pull on our dec. cruise to Panama Canal. Would really appreciate a copy of your spread sheet. Thanks in advance.

The added bathroom item of shower gel is in all the suites. It has nothing to do with whether you are Elite.

Yes there is a desk, and I guarantee you will have more drawer space then you can ever use. And there will be a dvd player also.

We enjoyed cabin F309 last Nov. and like you found it wonderful. We had NO smoke odor, the perks for a suite are tremendous, and I would book it again if returning to Hawaii. I love a balcony, but considering the cold rough seas going and returning with no opportunity for balcony lovers to use the balcony, this was the best of both worlds. Your drawing of the cabin is perfect, and beyond the visual, is the total space allotted to storage , the very large bathroom and the daily flowers and room service.

My wife and I enjoyed this more than any tour or other activity that we have taken. You pick your "job" on the ship. My wife was a timekeeper and I had a great time actually working with the sails. We definitely think it is worth the money. We will be going back in March and doing this for the 3rd time. By the way we are not kids. Wife 70 and me 78.

We are in the process of deciding between Crowne Plaza and Doubletree, but need some specifics. We are flying in to LA and will be hoping to find a fairly good restaurant and a liquor store within walking distance. Would appreciate info on both. Thanks

New to trying priceline. I definitely want to stay at the Crowne Plaza hotel in San Pedro. If I make a bid and it is accepted, but not for that hotel will I have to accept it anyway? Thanks

I love the Ruby..was on its maiden voyage. The sister ships are the Caribbean, Crown and Emerald and all have a capacity of 3080 passengers. That is the largest passenger count of any Princess ships. They all offer over 900 balcony rooms and personally I never felt crowded.
